Not feeling very up today, trying to sell our house and patience is not my virtue!!! In 30 days have accepted 3 offers, 2 of which fell through :( emotional roller coaster and hoping the last one goes through although it is subject to their sale! So just feeling off today, will log my food and fit a walk in and maybe that…

Today I walked to and from the gym which totals about 3kms. So a very nice start to the day plus the 45 min. Strength training :) yesterday I walked a total of 10kms. So very proud of myself for that as well. Although I do a fair amount of walking I am trying to hit the 10,000 steps recommended but I only wear my pedometer…

Finally getting an opportunity to read the thread. Here is my story, 54, married, 3 adult children, retired 2 yrs. ago. At age 47 I got serious and Lost 65 lbs and kept it off for approx 3 yrs. In 2009 I lost my father to cancer and hit menopause. Pounds started creeping on and I stuck my head in the sand while I grieved.…

Bump - on my way out the door BUT I need to read this!!!! I am 54 and a daily struggle, I've got the exercise motivation but the food, not so much! My motto of fit by 55 started last night when I read MFP success stories!! Lose 20 lbs by my mid August birthday would be a huge accomplishment for me! No excuses but I have…

First of all congrats, such as sincere, honest post! I love the idea of taking a new picture in the same clothes, think I'll have to borrow that idea. Keep up the good work!

Great comments, Thanks everyone! I purchased a Starfrit at Canadian Tire, not high end but looks like it will do the job :)

Wow, you just put it all in perspective for me. Unfortunately I still have the vanity motivation but at the end of the day it all comes down to health and longevity. Even though you are limited physically, any form of movement will work together with eating healthy. The healthy eating, drinking water and setting small…

Welcome back! I can relate as I too regained about 30 lbs after losing my dad to cancer 5 yrs ago. Really set me back and took along time for me to even admit that I was putting the lbs. back on. You are doing the right thing and as in the past the MFP friends will help you through it. Feel free to add me as a friend if…

Thanks for all the responses. I think I need to review my food plans and try to increase my calcium, sodium etc as I can see I am lacking in those areas.

Hi much in common, trying to re-lose 30 lbs I regained and a real struggle. I'm 54, go to the gym strength training 5 days a week, yoga once a week, going to aquacize first time tonight and walk 6 days a week. Very active, eat healthy and yet can't get the pounds off although inches seem to be dropping, slowly :). My body…

No one ever said it would be easy BUT it WILL be worth it! Hang in there, don't compare your results to others. I'm only telling you this because I have to tell myself the same thing everyday. My changes have been very slight and subtle but I refuse to walk away. This is one battle that I will win and so will you, trust…

I think as long as your consistent; clothes on or clothes off, time of day, before exercise or after. Personally, I always weigh in the morning before I hit the gym because I drink a lot of water during my workout so I prefer to weigh before. I am also trying to limit myself to one weigh in per week and currently…
