I’ve always known that Americans eat too much, but I never knew how much. According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s Health Data 2002 study, of the G8 nations (excluding the Federation of Russia, due to lack of data), American’s consume more calories daily than citizens of other G8 nations.…

I'm sure Memaw's homemade recipe is better - sure sounds yummy - but if you're pressed for time try Foster Farms lean turkey meatballs. I just tried them for the first time a couple weeks ago and I was so surprised how good they are! 160 cals for a serving of 3 meatballs (which are huge), 5 g carbs, 8 g fat, 16 g protein.

I know...doesn't it rock???? I dip veggie sticks. Or the best is spread on grilled flatbread. Just put a little olive oil in a pan and quickly grill each side of the flat bread (like you're making a quesadilla). I don't do that very often, but olive oil is really good for you and depending on the type of flat bread you…

So I'm dying to know...aside from marrying your spouse, giving birth to your children, or divorcing said spouse (if applicable :-) - what was the best day of your life? BTW, fun post!

Welcome! I know what you mean about the weight and the job! I'm in the middle of both! This site definitely keeps me motivated. Hope it keeps you motivated, too. You can definitely do it :flowerforyou:

Hanson! How funny. I know what you mean about Britney - Womanizer almost made my list...just love that song...
-
Ha! These are so funny...especially if your guilty pleasures are completely off from anything you regularly listen to or watch. I listen to all kinds of music and most days it could be anything from Anberlin to ZZ Top and alot of stuff in between, but Barry Manilow usually isn't in the mix  Stay strong today!

CodyKitty...speaking of Rob Base - Joy and Pain is another good one! Great list! Salt n Peppa! Yes, always wanted to be Spinderella!!

Love the Goonies...totally forgot about that one!
-
Congratulations! That's awesome!!!

Just keep the faith and keep at it. I've been here for about a week, too and I've found just reading everyone's posts and positive messages keeps me motivated! Good luck...

Today I was in the car rockin' out to Buffalo Stance by Neneh Cherry - remember that one? I love that song...but it's definitely a guilty pleasure! Others are: 1970's - Mandy or Copacabana (Barry Manilow) or Afternoon Delight (Starlight Vocal Band) 1980's - I just told ya - Buffalo Stance (Neneh Cherry) 1990's - Regulators…

Thanks so much for all the warm welcomes! If you ever want to celebrate a success or vent a frustration (or just say hi!) feel free to drop me a line!

Tall girls rock! Ok, really all girls rock, but I had no idea that there were so many of us tall gals! How tall are you? 5'11 What is your weight? 178 What is your build? Large How much do you workout? 6x a week. Walk 5 miles a day, minimal strength training, occasional vinyasa power yoga and mountain biking. Water ski all…

Thanks y'all. I do love it here...it's a wonderful site! Best of luck to you too!

I can't be trusted to do that! I could easily turn a day into one BIG, never-ending meal:smile:

I just wanted to take a sec to say hi! I've been on the site for about a week now, but I've never taken a moment to introduce myself and thank everyone for their inspiration and support - even if we've never "spoken" before. Whether you've already lost alot or, like me, still have "a bit more" to go...I'm motivated and…

Gravy ...and any kind of bread

Thanks for sharing...I'm feeling hungry :-) Your recipe is almost the base for a tortilla/Mexican soup that I make. Add to your recipe (minus the juice) a box of low sodium chicken broth, a can of green beans, a can of corn (you could use fresh if you like) and some jalepenos and/or jalepeno juice. When I wasn't watching…

Thanks for the link. I've read all of Dr. Peter D'Adamo's books which are also on diet and blood type and I found them to be very interesting. My blood type is Type A, for which he recommends a nearly vegetarian diet, limited amounts of chicken and fish and no red meat. I have to admit I feel great when I follow his…

Sounds like shin splints to me :-) They're caused from direct, blunt impact against your lower legs. Think of the way you land when you jump, run, etc. Anytime your feet hit the ground at a hard, blunt angle, you're impacting your lower leg...which is why the increase in incline worked for the other poster (sorry, I can't…

I like Tae-Bo, too. Definitely give power yoga a try. If you ever have the chance, even if just for one practice, go to a Vinyasa yoga class in a studio - just to get a feel for what it's like. You'll be amazed!
-
Have you ever tried Vinyasa Power Yoga? It's really awesome and a great stress reducer. Shiva Rea has some awesome DVDs and the cool part is that you can pick the length of your practice - from 20 minutes to almost 1.5 hours and you can mix and match segments for a varied workout from the same DVD. I get them from NetFlix…
