Depends on many factors, and those guidelines are just based on averages. If you have more muscle mass than average, you'll be over the 'should be' weight, for example.

<3 creatine. Personally I find I need less rest between sets when I've been using it for a while, and get better intensity during the actual set. Yes it retains water in your muscles, so they'll look a little more defined, but it's the physical effects that I appreciate.

I've done so for the past few months, but no one has any idea how the hell I'm doing so, considering how much I eat to try and gain weight. Last check (a few days ago) I'd gained 0.5 kg muscle and lost 1.2kg fat in three weeks.

I get this all the time, and be perfectly frank, it pisses me the hell off. They like to ignore the fact that I'm eating 2-4 meals over my shift, and focus instead on the fact that I'm not stuffing my face with McDonalds like they do.

Whatever works for you. Some find they can get a decent full body workout in one session, some like to spend the whole session focussing on one area. Personally if I were to try and do everything in one go, I'd be there for hours which isn't an option, and the amount of food I'd have to eat afterwards just to keep up would…

Five finger death punch (American Capitalist) and Dropkick Murphys (Live on Lansdowne) are two albums that I can just have playing all the way through.

Varies a lot. I've found in the past that there are people I've known for a while and then suddenly found attractive when I find out just how intelligent they are.

No, he kept bench pressing me after I passed out and now I feel sick.

I actually had my neighbour say this to me about an hour ago  and I can see what she means.

Depends on who you ask. My wife would say people hit on me fairly often, but I don't notice it, and never have. It's a confidence issue that I (like many) have had for years.

As others have said, timing doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things (I. E. Creating a deficit or surplus), however timing (and content) of meals can help or hinder you depending on your lifestyle. Personally, if I don't have a decent sized breakfast then I struggle with energy, as I work in a shop on my feet all day.…

Update: My arms are finally starting to get somewhere :) :

This. Don't do cardio much anymore, but I used to watch my heart rate religiously.

Yup. I got freaked out a little by it, but it seems to be going down now. In a way I feel like I'm going through puberty again but without the awkwardness, heh.

Even though fat kinda goes down uniformly (in theory), in practice you'll probably find you're losing it from other places that aren't quite as noticeable. Also, a lot of people (myself included) find that stomach/hips etc are usually the last places to show progress. I've noticed that you can lose a lot of fat (in weight)…

I had one, but haven't been on here in a while and no idea if they're still around.

Yes, I smoke. Started smoking weed at university, then one day ran out but had tobacco. Ho hum.

In Birmingham, from London. Alas, I tend to come and go, so not particularly active on here anymore.

Hello :) Birmingham here (although originally from London)

Keep a set of small snacks around to nibble on - far less intimidating than trying to force yourself to cook a meal :)

Short term yes you can lose weight, but if you consistently eat below your bmr you are effectively eating less than your body needs to survive long term. When you've got a lot to lose its viable, but if you're adding exercise also, and you're still eating below your bmr, you'll end up hurting yourself. Eg bmr of 1500, plus…

Hmm, maybe you made a slight miscalculation? I don't have time right now but if you pop your details down I'm sure someone can rerun the figures for you and see if they get the same result :) But his bmr should be independent of exercise. It's the minimum to retain current form even if in a coma. With eating back exercise…

I used to think I was big boned, but I was just fat. As I lost weight, certain places (ribs, spine, clavicles) stuck out a lot, but only because there just wasn't as much fat there as other places, and I was losing it from all over.

Which calculator are you using to get your bmr? It's very rarely an exact science (hence why I stopped using it as a measure) and small variations in a calculation can throw the results. Edit: for what it's worth, my bmr now (at 74ish kg) is only about 1800, but has been going up since I started weight training.

I think that game may have just got the challenge level wrong, to be honest. Beginners are where a lot of companies make the most money - be it sportswear, supplements, gym plans, etc. Most grow out of needing the must have pill or accessory once they stick to their plan and realise how simple it can be, but there's a…

Hello! Bisexual here.

Get used to the Americanisms ;)

Probably just adjusting for the initial pressure from you stepping on. Especially if they're digital. :)
