  • You said you've lost inches. this is a huge indication that you're on the right path. Put the scale away and focus on your measurments. Your muscles are probably retaining some water. Be more patient. The scale will eventually catch up.
  • To lose at least 5lbs :) (going on an all inclusive vacation at the end of March...so this should be interesting)!
  • You're amazing! Thank you for keeping your story around, I pretty much read it every day, it motivates me a lot! Keep up the great work.
  • Try the following My Home/Settings/Diary Settings Scroll down to calorie adjustments, see if leaving the box unchecked helps. Not sure if this is right, but it's worth a shot!
  • Are you cutting out beer and other alcohol, or at least consuming a very limited quantity (i.e. staying within your calorie/macro range)? Try to not drink your calories :)
  • He may not be my spouse, but my BF has offered to get me an iRobot vacuum if I can lose 15lbs by June 15 :) One Husky and one Rottie = lotsa fur! He's willing to treat me when I succeed AND gives me the motivation to keep going. He encourages me to go to the gym and we cook healthy meals together almost every night. Other…
  • I use the BodyMedia Fit Link and it seems to be fairly accurate, as far as I can tell. It takes a bit of getting used to, but after a while you don't even notice it's there. I also have it synced with MFP. I really like it, it gives me a good read out one what my body has done throughout the entire day/night. I think it…
  • I would put your TDEE at 20% or even 15%. I found when I finally stopped looking for faster, more aggressive results, the weight is starting to come off more. Make sure you're drinking enough water and getting enough sleep as well! In the meantime, maybe do check with your doctor to rule out any medical condition(s), once…
  • www.sparkpeople.com It is full of workout videos, articles, food/fitness tracking, meal planning, forums, groups, etc.
  • Try some drinking some coffee. Pineapple and coconut can also help move things along as they are kinda like natural laxatives. Sometimes TOO much fibre can have an adverse affect as well, make sure you're not consuming too much. Especially if you increase a lot in a short amount of time.
  • WBB55 has given you some great tips. I would also like to suggest that you get yourself mentally prepared as well, DO NOT get discouraged if you don't see massive drops in your weight like they do on TV. You might not even see any weight come off some weeks or even a few weeks after you start, just keep with it, because 3…
  • Mine is open too :)
  • It's most likely water weight and not fat. Like the others have said, relax. Sometimes it can take 6-8 weeks before the scale moves, just keep with it!
  • Make sure you're getting enough sleep and water too! Try for 7-9 hours of sleep and 8 glasses a day, your body needs adequate rest and hydration. Do you have a heart rate monitor, FitBit, BodyMedia arm band? If not, one may be a good investment for you to ensure that you aren't over estimating the amount of calories you're…
  • Thanks for posting the begining of your journey and congrats on all your hard work and dedication! I always enjoy reading people's success stories as it gives me more motivation to try and better myself as well and hopefully be able to post my own story one day. I too cannot wait to read the rest.
  • How much water are you getting? Aim for at least 8 glasses How much sleep are you getting? Aim for at least 7 hours While a safe weekly weight loss would be 1-2 pounds per week, there will be weeks you don't lose. There will even be weeks you gain ! And that doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong. This is not the Biggest…
  • You may not have lost a single pound...but you also haven't gained either :-) Weightloss doesn't happen the same for everyone; measure yourself as well, just because the scale isn't moving, doesn't mean you're not losing inches. Sometimes it can take up to 6-8 weeks for it to register on the scale. Shows like The Biggest…
