DSM-IV Diagnostic Criteria Binge Eating Disorder 1. Recurrent episodes of binge eating characterized by BOTH of the following: a. Eating in a discrete amount of time (within a 2 hour period), an amount that is definitely larger than most people would eat during a similar time period. b. Sense of lack of control over eating…

Thank you, everyone, for the comments and "way to goes". I'll keep with what the machine I'm on says since I don't want to overestimate calories burned.
-
That is really great to hear. You'll meet goal for sure.
-
What a wonderful transformation both in the looks and health departments. Keep at it and you'll be right where you want to be in no time. Congrats.

I can relate. I take a cocktail of 6 different psych drugs a day. I've been on so many I can't list them all. The worst of the bunch caused me to gain 65 pounds in just a few months. I craved sugar so bad I could have sat in the floor with a bag of sugar and a spoon.

I had a duodenal switch done December 7, 2009 so I have a sleeve as well as rerouting of the intestines. Did I have complications? Yes, very serious ones. I got through it and even saying that I have no regrets. I've lost nearly 125 pounds. The surgery saved my life. Not everyone has complications and I don't know where…

I have to tell you all that I think it's a great idea to have a scale in the kitchen. Don't know why I never thought of that. If it's in the kitchen I can weigh before eating something I shouldn't. Seeing the number would deter me. I have two scales and I'm moving one to the kitchen.

I'm 5' petite frame as well. I'd like to be at the low end of a normal BMI which would be around 95 pounds.
-
I'm 5' 116 pounds, normal BMI. I wear a girls size 12/14. Their almost always short. I hate highwaters. No, this ain't a lie I'm just a small person.

I'm sorry but no man tells me what I can and cannot do. Go buy a dog and when your husband gripes tell him to go .... It's all about self-respect.
-
Sorry to tell you, but they aren't going away - ever. They fade over time, but once you get them you've got them for life. Don't waste your money on lotions and potions that claim to get rid of them.
-
Get back into my girls size 12 jeans. I'm up to a girls 14/16 and I don't like it. (I'm short with a small frame so it's the way my body is, I'm not underweight.)
-
Why don't you just get your tubes tied? I don't think you're going to find a doctor to remove your uterus to prevent pregnancy.

What?!

A calorie is a calorie no matter where it comes from.

I use FireFox and downloaded the add-on ad block plus. I haven't seen and add or a pop-up in literally years.

I understand you perfectly. I'm anorexic/binge purge subtype. It's my own living hell and those thoughts occupy my every waking moment. Literally, there isn't a moment in my day that I'm not thinking about food, my weight and fighting the urge to binge/purge or starve. I also understand the fear of food. I'm even afraid of…

3.5 years ago I had weight loss surgery. Not a bypass or band. The surgery I had is called biliopancriatic diversion with a duodenal switch. This surgery is more drastic and dangerous. My intestines were rerouted totally and I now have a very small working stomach and pyloric valve, not a pouch and stoma, and only 5' of…
-
Have you seen a doctor about this. Could it be that your stoma needs a bit of stretching. Not the pouch just the opening. They do sometimes close a little. Most junk turns to liquid in your mouth that or becomes mushy so it's easy to get through the opening.

I have my son keep that sort of stuff in his room. My husband will hide it from me. AT MY REQUEST. For some reason if I don't see it I don't think about it. Out of sight out of mind thing.
-
Some do and some don't. This is totally individual though. One person may not gain and someone on the same meds will gain. I've been on Viibryd for over a year and haven't gained any weight from it. Stay away from Seroquel. That one is bad for giving you sugar cravings. I was on it and gained 65 pounds over night. I ate…

I had the same surgery you did. Nice to meet a fellow DSer.

I agree with this. It isn't something to joke about. And yeah, I'm one of those hardcore, blackout every night, falling down, swigging at 6 am to ward off the shakes, drug addicted, drunks so I got my back up. In recovery since July 2, 2012

I'm female and have this problem except that my arms aren't too big. Since I've lost 130 pounds I have batwings and stretch marks on the underside of my upper arms. Don't want to disgust anyone and need to buy summer shirts with a longer sleeve too. Waiting for replies. Thanks for asking this question.

It ends one day and they are grown and gone. My oldest had colic for a year and screamed pretty much nonstop. He'd only nap 45-60 mins at a time. He did that until he was four. It was absolutly horrible. No one would sit for us beyond one day some even called us to come back and get him. Took me eight years to agree to…

Diet mtn dew and grilled cheese sandwiches.
-
Doesn't describe me one bit.
-
I actually pretty much suck at everything. Seriously, I have no talents whatsoever.
-
Personally, I don't let too many people tell me what I can and can't do. You are your own person and shouldn't be controlled by another human being. Do what you want and let him pout and nag. It's not your blood pressure going up.

I love thick yogurt. I buy a large container of plain, dump it in a sieve, hang the sieve across a bowl, and let it drain in the fridge for about a day and a half. Makes it super thick. I put a little splenda on it. Unfortunately, yogurt of any kind is a huge trigger for me so I stay away from it.
