  • Don't we have some dude in Wisconsin to grow green stuff for us?
  • I cooked a combo vegan (me) and Primal for a year which pretty much consisted of filling two plates with a lot of fresh produce and some nuts or seeds and then adding grains to one plate and meat to the other. It was tasty, filling and though I personally don't plan on ever going Primal, I can say that it works wonders for…
  • Baked or broiled fish?

  • As to protein ... if I'm under I just use whey protein to boost me up. A question: Am I alone in thinking all the two part stretches are annoying and ineffective? You know the pull-pull pigeon stretch, etc ... I'm on day 6 now and I did them like Tony the first few times and then I started just pausing the dvd and, you…
  • Apparently, they just don't want to risk the possibility that one of their members might actually ... build muscle.
  • I've been making stews and chilis and just eating a batch for lunch and dinner for a couple days, then freezing the remainder. After I've gone through the process with several recipes, just reheating the old batches from the freezer. Boring, perhaps, but it's tasty, made exactly how I like it, and I know everything that…
  • I take a multivitamin and calcium supplement. And, whey protein if I'm not going to make my protein macro.
  • How tall are you and what do you currently weigh? People can be a lot more constructive in their help if they really know your circumstances. It's also helpful if you log your calories for a week or more and then open your diary. Knowing what you've been trying can help others make helpful suggestions. I almost all…
  • Ok, You're 19 ... It was a while ago, but I remember 19, ok, vaguely. You've come to a site where there's literally thousands of people losing weight right and left and you want the secret. Because, you want 30 pounds gone in the next three months. The bad news: It's not safe for you to lose that quickly. Yeah, some people…
  • Currently on Day 5 of P90X3 ... I loved Les Mills Combat too :)
  • I've not had pringles. Because I didn't want to have to log pringles.
  • Cassy, please listen to the people here saying that weight loss can be done through diet alone. I'll admit that I'd not heard of your condition before (thank you Google) ... I'd really recommend that if you want to add activity you work with your doctor to come up with something incredibly gentle to your body. I wouldn't…
  • -12 F here in Minnesota. That's the actual temp. Before windchill. And, I hear tomorrow will be colder.
  • You are mistaken by over generalizing. You're body won't hold on to fat if you're eating at a modest deficit. However, if you're netting 0 calories per day (as you can tell he is by doing the math from his post) it's possible to throw your metabolism out of whack, I put his numbers into scooby and to be losing at a 20%…
  • I'd probably start with: http://30dayfitnesschallenges.com/30-day-abs-challenge/ and then adjust from there. If it's crazy easy for you, just add more in until it's challenging. If it's already quite challenging, it'll give you something to work towards.
  • I just finished day 4 today ... By far, Day 2 was the biggest challenge for me yet.
  • If you're an 18 year old male, working out daily, eating only 600 to 700 calories a day is likely hurting your weight loss more than helping it. At that few calories, your body won't be able to maintain your muscles. Without knowing your height, we can't tell you precisely how much you should be eating. However, I can say…
  • All kinds of things can chage metabolic rate. Mine changed drastically just by virtue of entering my 40s. You can't always just stop. I can't just decide to be in my mid 30's instead of my mid 40's. (I can do other things though, which is why I'm here). And, I'm suspecting that quite a few of the medications that…
  • I use protein powder in my coffee too. What's healthier about it for me is that hitting the vicinity of my protein macro for the day is my biggest challenge and I struggle with wanting to even bother with eating breakfast. So, if I can change breakfast from being a tablespoon of sugar and some half and half conveyed by a…
  • To be clear: I really, sincerely hope you're correct and that I was completely mistaken. It's not the kind of thing I have any investment in being "right" about and it wasn't my intention to be hurtful in any way. If my closest friend showed me a similar self pic, I would have recommended they visit a doctor to make sure…
  • I had to google a celcius/fahrenheit converter to make sure my mental math was working. 40 degrees celcius would feel like living in an oven to me right now. Here it's currently -17 celcius (0 degrees fahrenheit to save anyone else from having to google it) and apparently it's only getting colder for the next three days.…
  • I'm having lima bean, ham, and vegetable soup. It's cold here.
  • Zombies Run 2!
  • Welcome back Avi. Congratulations on taking the first step :)
  • I second this. We make stews, chilis and soups all the time and then freeze serving sized portions. Not only is it extremely convenient for lunch, it also makes for a very fast dinner prep when you have one of those "what's for dinner" nights when no one feels like cooking.
  • I added calories when the 1200 MFP told me to eat wasn't working, and then I saw the scale numbers start dropping. Other than that, I found that adding whey protein to my morning coffee helped me start hitting a more reasonable protein intake :)
  • That may be true for you. It is not true for me.
  • Everquest is Free-To-Play these days (with certain restrictions of course) through Steam :) I spent a good part of December taking a reminiscent tour. Back in the day all my toons were on Xev (which has, of course, merged twice since then). It's crazy now, my level 10 monk has better gear than my level 60 raid geared monk…
  • I can't know for certain what will work for you. However, I can tell you that I'm 46, female, 5'2" and hovered between 140 and 143 pounds for 40 days working out and eating just under the 1200 MFP recommended (plus eating about half of my exercise calories). The first day I saw a drop below 140 was the day I intentionally…
