I can't wait to try these!

I'm also in week two of month two! I don't have a lot of weight to lose and the scale hasn't moved much (maybe half a pound) but I have lost a lot of inches all over and can see a big difference between my day one pics and end of month one pics. Just go at your own pace, do as much as you can, and push play every day even…

OP, I too am working on a tight budget right now and also agree that celebrating victories along the way on this journey is so important. Doing an at-home "beauty day" can be super cheap--I buy face masks (the ones that are a single-use and really cheap; I think I've gotten them at Target), paint my toenails, moisturize,…

Exactly. You can recognize that you need/want to lose weight/gain muscle/whatever your goal is without being negative and hurtful to yourself. From my experience, any changes you make will be more lasting when you come from a place of self-love rather than being motivated by self-hate.

I got a 16 and the description was pretty accurate. I'm mostly pretty confident and happy and self-loving but I still have those moments and feelings of self-doubt and criticism that creep up from time to time. Filling in the answes for how I felt a few years ago, it came out as a 36, which was applicable both to a time…

I've had this problem with soy but not so much with almond milk. I use Blue Diamond and put the almond milk in first. One thing I've done lately which might help you, is put the almond milk in a pot on the stove to heat it first and that also helps with keeping the coffee hotter longer!

Agreed. Do I think there should be more diversity in advertising, more shapes and sizes? Absolutely. Do I think women (or men) should have to be a certain size to be a model or just be considered attractive? No. Should anyone starve themselves to be a size zero or beat themselves up for not being a size zero? No way.…

I quit in August 2012. It was very much tied in with my journey toward overall health. The final nail in the coffin for my smoking was when I started running. I realized I couldn't do both. Feel free to add me! :) You can do this!

Worth it.

I've been told I have chipmunk cheeks (and I do) and a round face and I used to be so self-conscious about it and always thought it looked much worse when I smiled. As a result, 98% of the pictures taken during my late teen-early college years are me not smiling, often making ridiculous "duck faces" and such. Now that I'm…

Totally this. Just do it at your own pace, take breaks when you need to, and don't give up. And like Shaun T always says, focus on form over speed. Your endurance will improve. Make sure you take "before" pictures and measurements if you haven't yet! I haven't lost a lot of scale weight but have lost a lot of inches and…

Ooh, good suggestion on the cayenne. I am definitely trying that!

I've read on the boards before that you can find all the videos on YouTube so you can still do it without the DVD :)

Another way I found to store them when you don't use the whole thing all at once: put it in a tupperware container with some chopped onion. I googled "how to store unused avocado" one time, found that on a blog, and have been doing it ever since. It can last a couple days this way.

When I plugged your numbers in I got 2723 and for weight loss, you want to subtract 500 from that so you would be eating around 2200. Which makes sense. I'm also 5'3" but weigh 139 and mine minus the 500 is around 1900.

This is great! And, for me, quite consistent with the numbers I've found on the various TDEE calculators.

I'm a feminist and I love a clean house! I also love when my boyfriend does the dishes and, thankfully, that happens a lot in my house  Thanks for sharing that site! I am loving it! It's my bf's turn to clean the bathroom but I will scrub the kitchen sink today and get down on some baseboards!

You can also find some good plans on bodybuilding.com--you can select gender, age range, and if your goal is fat loss or muscle building and it will come up with a range of plans. They all have pictures and videos so you can learn proper form.

You look awesome! Thanks for sharing! Measuring tape and pictures tell the story much more accurately than the scale :)

Agreed with the above. I'm 5'3", 138 pounds, 27 years old and my BMR is approximately 1400. I have an HRM so I get a more accurate sense of calories burned in the workouts. Month one, I was burning around 400, depending on the day but am more around 600 for month two. In month one, I was eating 1800 calories but I'm upping…

Bump for the replies! Also, right now I'm doing Insanity and am losing inches all over so hopefully this will help with the love handles as well. I just started month two which, I've heard from others, is where the results get serious.

I'm not sure how many calories you consume during the day but sometimes under-eating or being overly depriving with what you eat can make those cravings worse. I originally started at 1200 calories and would have terrible cravings and would be more likely to binge. After reading the "In Place Of A Roadmap" forum, I have…

I definitely want to try this!

You look amazing!! I'm also 5'3" and currently weigh around 138-139 so this gives me a lot of hope and motivation :)
-
Get rid of them! It's extra motivating to maintain all your hard work if you don't have those bigger sizes to slip back into!
-
I used to be the same way! I have found that having a very specific plan of what I was going to do, how many sets, and in what order really helped me. When I have a plan, I feel focused and not like I'm just wandering around being clueless. Also, I would watch videos online in advance (like on bodybuilding.com where I got…

I drink a lot less often than I used to. I try to plan ahead when I'm going to drink and how much of what and pre-log it. I do make sure to have a solid, balanced day with my food because drinking on an empty stomach is bad news bears, and also make sure I get a solid workout in and drink lots of water all day. (Of course…

I'm 5'3" and weigh 138-139. 20% off my TDEE on workout days is 1772. Since I have an HRM, I sometimes eat more or less than this depending on my burn so that I *at least* net my BMR (approx. 1400). My scale weight hasn't changed much but I've lost two inches off my waist, two inches off my hips, an inch off each thigh, and…

Could not agree more with both of these posts. I have been right where you are in the past and both of these posts are right on for getting through to the other side without being miserable and unhealthy and constantly hungry. I still struggle and slip up too but I just keep right on going because I'm not dieting, I'm…
