Lifting doesn't burn that many calories if your just lifting. I never log them. Cross fit would be different

First get rid of the notion that toning is a simple thing to do. Start lifting on a beginners routine. Google will give you several top notch ones. Eat according to your goals. Lose fat or gain muscle. Pick one. Report back in several months. You won't get all swole, trust me.

We all have abs underneath the flab. Getting down to a low bodyfat will make them appear. You won't gain any muscle to that area while lifting in a deficit. Stretching will help but not take care of it completely. Assuming it's just muscle soreness. It goes away after training for a while.

Lift Off Lift Off Lift Off Off On off days I jog, walk, mobility exercise, or absolutely nothing. Usually lift for an hour when things are on point but some days take longer if I'm draggin. Rest is way important. Currently on a full body routine. If on a split my lifting days are less spread out.

Probably just have less strength in your lower body than you think. If your on a progressive routine and stick with it long enough, eventually it will change. I know many people with same issue. Pretty common. Could be mobility issues too. How long have you been lifting?
