I have no idea what Orange Theory is. But- my husband and I had a similar disagreement when I decided I wanted to join a gym, and he used the same argument yours is making. Until very recently, he would occasionally complain about the price of my gym (it's a little expensive, but it's NICEEEE) and here's my argument for…

Idk... Mine involved chocolate, bacon, and fresh mozzarella cheese.

So- put on a hat, gloves, some proper gear for running in cold temps, and exercise! It seems your hubs wants you to be safe and not get frostbite... really unsure what the problem is. Perhaps it's in your head?

I think you need to turn your sarcasm radar on.

For girls? My husband and I use the same protein powder... I, however make it a tastebud affair, with non-fat greek yogurt (vanilla or coconut), skim milk and a squirt of hershey's chocolate syrup, cause I'm a rebel like that. Hubs, however, just uses a little crushed up ice and some water. Whatever floats your boat,…

Your 'hug juice' reply- what that in reference to my BUG juice? Bug juice is a brand of Moscato d'Asti, a sparkling dessert wine. It's flipping delicious. Not those nasty things you're talking about! LOL! ETA: BTW, I love your name via use of the word 'djinn'

elevensies! (sorry, I could not help myself, but for those of you who get the reference, FR me!)

accessories- handbags, scarves (especially scarves!) gloves, jackets... it's kind of ridiculous. Chocolate. dark chocolate, milk chocolate, chocolate with peanuts, hazelnuts, almonds, sea salt, crystalized ginger... doesn't matter. cooking magazines- i buy a new one at least once a week while grocery shopping. I love being…

Oh, I loved this! You see energy :flowerforyou:

When you're eating less carbs, do you make up for the caloric difference with other foods? I ask because if you're simply eliminating a large amount of calories via carbohydrates without replacing those calories elsewhere (protein, namely) then all you're doing is creating a larger calorie deficit, which of course means…

Shortly after my daughter was born and I was given the green light to work out, I was only able to get to the gym twice a week (sitter scheduling) and I did total body those days. Now that my LO is old enough for daycare, I split up my strength training since I go to the gym 5-6 days out of the week. I think, if you only…

In simplest terms, it's just this: you fast for two of the seven days in the week, and then eat normally (ie, maintenance) the other five. On the two fast days, one is restricted to 500-600 calories for the day, however they choose to allocate them. Some prefer to fast all day and eat their calorie allotment at dinner,…

Tons of awesome advice on here from the men and the ladies.... and while I'm a little late to the serious party, just one thing I'd like to share with you... The defining thing from the first date with my husband was, he kissed me goodnight on the cheek at the end of an amazing date. He didn't try for more, which I found…

Yeah it is! Tbh, if I'd known how difficult it would be, I probably would have psyched myself out. It's intense, but I think that challenge is what I really enjoy about it.

Ahhh, I guess no one has taken a class like this :) Interesting thing, it was different than last week- actually, this class was more what I thought it would be like... and now I'm not sure which workout I liked better! It's definitely a keeper though.

There are a variety of reasons one might prefer fasting over a daily caloric deficit. While *you* might find it unappealing, there are plenty of others for whom it works. For me, I like the challenge of fasting. I also like the mental clarity that comes with pursuing that challenge. I also like the concept of creating a…

Bump.... I'm in a similar quandry. Due to injuries from a severe motorcycle accident and subsequent skiing accent (10 and 5 years ago respectively) my right leg is significantly weaker than my left. Would love to hear what the strength-training gurus have to say!

Good question... I don't know. The extra money for my baby to join the daycare, or the time in the morning when I could get house cleaning and laundry done? Idk... I'm a SAHM, so I guess I don't really look at it as sacrificing something- I'm gaining some ME time!

This. There is no substitution for bacon.

Fiji What band/artist would you love to see live *if* they were still touring?

Whenever works best for you, your lifestyle and your energy levels. Personally, I like working out in the afternoon, but my gym's daycare hours are 9-1 and 4-8, so I go mid-morning, and I'm starting to like it. I definitely like it better than going at 4 or 5 when it starts getting crowded! Bottom line is, the best time is…

 That's why you want to be in a relationship? :noway:

I'm with you, Symphony. It absolutely breaks my heart that these things happen. I have two daughters and I cannot imagine loving them any less than I would a son. And don't even get me started on child brides. Absolutely sickening and heartbreaking.

I usually only have coffee in the AM before working out. I don't get to the gym until after 9am, because the daycare isn't open until then. I'm also not hungry when I first get up with the kids (6:30-7a) and I've found if I eat shortly before working out, I feel gross. I bring a piece of fruit, like an orange or 1/2…
