Oh, I'm trying! How do I resize?

I saw the topic and thought of these... because I love cheese danishes, and I have a recipe I want to try... but I'm holding out

woah... good thing I don't have a waffle iron.

This. Your visage can and will change over time; who you are as a person is what is important. The person you marry should understand that, and the right guy will want to spend the rest of his life with you whether you weigh 209 or 130. Lose the weight for you, not for him or a wedding. :flowerforyou:

I don't run (I have knee issues) but I love working out. I didn't always enjoy exercise for it's own sake, though. Two things changed- I started noticing that I felt really good (mentally, emotionally) after working out and when I didn't exercise, I felt like crap. The other thing was, I had a preference for strength…

I have no idea what cassette tape was my first, but I'm going to guess Madonna's Like A Prayer, because I played the **** out of that thing, and I know it wouldn't have been my mother who bought it for me. I was 9, so there's a distinct possibility it was given to me for my birthday... CD? Pearl Jam- Vs.

What about other types of exercise? I have regular knee problems arising from a motorcycle accident 11 years ago- my right knee was wrecked and I have no kneecap. It gives out randomly and without warning- consequently, over the past decade my left knee has compensated and become the dominant one, but is prone to tweaks…

Oh nom nom nom- Thank you so much for all the awesome ideas... now, to pick one!

Thanks for some ideas! I love pesto, but my husband isn't a fan. (which I find odd, because he loves fresh basil) The grilling idea he would definitely like... he loves to grill in the warmer months and insists on only using a charcoal grill, lol. I was thinking of making a wasabi-lime glaze... and I saw a recipe with…

There is a 5:2 group here- check it out. Also, it would be helpful to read the book. As an aside, something I found interesting in learning about 5:2 and fasting was- Buddhist monks fast on the new and full moon for 24 hours. That struck a chord in me...

Reasons why I fall off the wagon (repeatedly!): - cravings - lack of willpower - pain/physical injuries - i just plain love to eat Reasons I keep getting back on: - I hate feeling fat and bloated - I need to prove to myself I can do this If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. And again. And again. And again... so…

It's Friday Pi Day! And yes, beware the Ides of March! Three years ago tomorrow is when my life changed forever, though I didn't know it at the time (my husband and I had our 1st date 3/15/11)

Exactly. I was bulled in 7th and part of 8th grade... it stopped when I stuck up for myself. I first tried to ignore them; at the time, I was shy and insecure and didn't know how to stand up for myself, so ignoring them was safe. It didn't work- in fact, it made them more mean, trying to get a reaction out of me. Then I…

Nay. Eat the real thing. If you don't want the 70 calories from the egg, eat the egg whites and add in your spices. A little sea salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder (even a little paprika or cayenne pepper) will make them taste yummy.
-
LMAO! love it. OP, or you could throw one of them a snickers bar and say something like, 'you know, you're a real b*tch when you're hungry"
-
This all the way. More likely than not, these brats aren't used to people standing up to them. Their goal is to hurt you, defeat you and demoralize you, because it makes them feel superior. I'm like JoRocka, I fight back... personally, on top of the waif jokes and whatnot, I'd figure out what their insecurities or…

Thanks... hot tea *almost* came out my nose.

Hmm... never thought of that before! Though, I have no idea how one would find that sort of thing- I'm kind of pathetic when it comes to the interwebz.

^that, and this topic in general is why my profile pic is Wayne Coyne :) I might also have a crush on his musical geniusness... :blushing:

This; most everyone knows this is how we do in our home. The only exception is when we're having a party with a variety of people- it's just easier to keep shoes on with people in and out of the house- and nearly any party includes my brother and my husbands best friend; both wear boots, and believe me, you don't want them…

So glad the OP asked this question, and there are so many uplifting and awesome responses! What a great way to start the morning! Thank you to everyone for sharing... those of us still starting out on this journey appreciate the reminder of what is achievable! (I'm at 18/20, hoping to get to a 10!)

As the above poster noted, your diary isn't open so it's hard to give accurate advice. That aside, a few things: Are you weighing and measuring everything? If you only have a few pounds left to lose/want to lose, it's going to come off slowly, and you shouldn't expect to see the number on the scale drop quickly. Are you…

This, OP. I have a similar problem- I love to bake, and I daresay I'm damn good at it. But, I also eat a lot of what I make- too much, in fact. So, even though I have a few delicious recipe ideas to try, I'm holding off. It's frustrating, but it's worh it.

Lots of good advice on here.... but the bottom line remains: YOU have to be ready to change. You have to want it enough to change yourself. You have to decide that you love yourself enough to take care of your body. It's hard. It's damn hard at times, but the fact is, it's worth it. Like Nike says- just do it. PS- and if…

A quote I shared with my husband once when we were having a difficult time... "we're a work in progress with a lifetime contract" As others have already said- it's hard. It takes work. But it's so worth it, if it's the right person.

Brains... And dark hair/eyes. Thankfully, my husband had all the requirements. :)

MST3K ( Tom Servo) and The Spoony One ETA: still in love with old school NES. We have an emulator with every NES/SNES, 64 as well as Genesis and Dreamcast game made- on our TV (it's hooked up to a computer).

have you tried the black currant dark chocolate? I *thought* the intense orange was my fave, but I think I like the black currant better.

I'm not sure I eat a something *every* day, unless you count butter for cooking. Or coffee and creamer. But actual food.... I eat greek yogurt, granola, cheese, salad and chocolate very nearly every day.
