Spices other than salt, such as pepper, oregano, thyme, etc...

This- go to bed earlier and make it a routine- no matter what time you go to bed, get up at the same time. You'll adapt and mornings won't be so horrible. (I like being up before the kids too, just to enjoy coffee and read the news in peace!) ETA: if you have difficulty falling asleep at an earlier time, try taking…

Woot woot! 10% smaller. That feels pretty good!

1) 30's 2) 250 3) NY 4) moderate 5) 4-6 times a week 6) yes 6) dinner 7) 5 8) somewhere north of 72oz daily 9) I don't keep certain foods in the house and I make sure to eat plenty of protein throughout the day (but I do allow myself some good quality chocolate very nearly every day to keep cravings at bay!) 10) Usually…

Confidence is a sexy thing all it's own, and it has nothing to do with size. When one is comfortable with themselves, regardless their size or shape, the confidence exuded is compelling- it influences everything about oneself; how one carries themselves, walks, talks, dresses, acts. I don't know nearly enough about you or…

2012 Subaru Outback. Yes, it *is* what makes a Subaru. ETA: Hubs had a 2011 Mini Cooper S that was tons of fun, but we got rid of it when he went back to school and we moved from the mountains to the city.

Cravings happen for a variety of reasons- nutrient deficiency, TOM, stress/emotional triggers. Before you can figure out how to tackle your cravings, you have to figure out *why* you're craving these things. More often than not, there's an emotional component to overeating. Only you can figure that part out. ETA: Log…

Nuts and roasted chickpeas are a couple things you can portion out and have with you. I've recently fallen in love with roasted chickpeas.

Yeah, I'm curious about the rubbish part too.

So what you're saying is, "yes, yes you can" is the only acceptable response to this topic. Should've posted that on the first page... might've saved a lot of time and comments and snottiness up in here!!!! ETA: my post responding to Jonnythan's question regarding logging it and counting as water was just that- a…

I can't speak for the person below my post, but as I said, to each their own. I don't, because before I made an effort to drink more water, I was drinking more coffee, soda and juice than I currently do water; I was ingesting roughly the same number of ounces of fluid a day, but my urine was not the pale yellow it is now.…

Yeah, coffee has water... but so does fruit. Do you log your orange or apple as water intake? Personally, if a beverage has calories and macros, it's logged as a food or in my 'non-water beverages' category. The only things I count as water for the purposes of hydration are actual water and unsweetened, caffeine free hot…

OP, I appreciate your having been kind and non-confrontational, but this woman needs to be put in her place. Maybe she doesn't realize how obnoxious she's being? Or perhaps she does and gets off on it? Either way, I think you should bluntly tell her that what you're doing seems to be working just fine, and if she's like…

OMG, yes to all of the above! Quite frankly, I don't care how you drive or how dumb you might be when you get behind a wheel, UNTIL you either impede what I'm doing (ie, make me take my cruise control off on the interstate) or put my children (who are with me 99.9% of the time) in harms way by your…

I'll bite... Seeing the word 'women' used in the singular drives me batty. I encounter it on social media enough to make it worrisome. Seriously- it doesn't sound wrong to the person when writing "I am a strong women"?????? Do these people not hear the words they're typing in their head? It utterly baffles me. My other…

Yes. It will show your 'net calories' as 1200.

I'm a really good alpine skier I nearly died in a motorcycle accident and have permanent physical disabilities from it I actually enjoy working out I'm really a hippie at heart, albeit a libertarian one :drinker:

I'm not a runner, but I always end my workout sessions with about 10-15 minutes of yoga- it's a great way to stretch out warmed up, worked muscles. However, I can't see a downside to doing it beforehand.

In to read for later!

I guess it's a good thing my husband likes well endowed gingers

Hey OP, congrats!!! As countless others have (and will!) say, you need to discuss this with your doctor. Anecdotally.... I was (still am) severely overweight when I found myself pregnant with my 2nd child. I tracked my calories on here, and made eating healthy AND not gaining serious weight my priority. I gained a total of…

Yup. Helps with mood swings (endorphins) allows me to indulge a little (hi salty/sweet stuff!) and makes PMS and aunt Flo's monthly visit that much less annoying. My cravings are ridiculous though. Go check out yesterday's diary if you want to see some crazy. Chocolate for breakfast, lunch AND after dinner. The thing…

The past week or so, my weekly average has been around 1900 I was having a really difficult time a couple weeks ago with my sodium intake- it seemed like no matter what I did, I couldn't stay under the 2300 mark; often times I was 2800-3300. And I didn't need the macros to tell me I was over- I could feel it. No matter how…

Log it and move on. But seriously, log it. Log EVERY. SINGLE. FOOD. that passes between your lips. It's the only way to actually see what is going on with one's eating. Yeah, you know you overdid it, but do you know by how much in terms of calories (or, as you're tracking, kilojoules)? How many calories, fat, sugars,…

Macintosh. I've NEVER had a mac that wasn't soft and mealy. Ick.

Macbook pro. joking aside... I LOVE apples (probably my favorite fruit besides raspberries) but empire's are my all time fave- maybe it's a NY thing, but.... oh nom nom nom. Love their crispness, their slightly sweet (but not too sweet!) taste... I prefer to use cortlands for baking pies(they're big, which means less…

No, I get that. That's why it's my "fitness" pal, right? To encompass more than just weight loss. I was just a little confused by the notion that your health hasn't changed despite losing almost 30# was all- wasn't questioning *why* you wanted to be here. :drinker:
-
Gotcha. Makes sense. I guess I got tripped up with the whole 'fitness' part of mfp... since I've seen it noted quite often on here that it's not "my weightloss pal" it's "my *fitness* pal" lol I think all too often, we get hyper-focused on words, no? Cheers! :drinker:

I'm confused. Your ticker says you've lost 28lbs, and it says you still have some to go. So, you're saying you're not any healthier now than you were nearly 30lbs ago? (not trying to be argumentative, just sincerely confused.)
