So it's like peanut flour but gritty and flavourless? Yum.

Not all avocados or chicken breasts are the same size by a long chalk, so those servings sizes are nothing more than a guesstimate. Calories and macros are by weight, you want accuracy use a scale and the entries that are by weight. Check the accuracy of every entry you use, there is a function to amend any user entered…

Nope it's a supplement, not everyone needs to supplement their diet. Anyway why would you run home to have a shake? Just take it to the gym and sip it as you are stretching or changing, being a convenience food is half the point of protein powders.

I don't see the logic of eating every two to three hours all day and then not eating for as long as fourteen hours evening and overnight. You haven't said what you are trying to achieve, there could different responses for and from those who are trying to lose, gain or just be healthy.

Points are not calories, two different systems.

More protein, fat and fibre, they work together to confer satiety - MFP goals are minimums not ideals.

Pulse salads: canned mixed beans, canned oily fish or frozen cooked shrimp (prawns), variety of salad vegetables. Leafy salads: baby spinach, red cabbage, canned green lentils, avocado OR walnuts, crumbled goat cheese OR blue cheese, lean sausage OR bacon.

Sorry to be picky but if you are using a blender it's not a juice it's a more of smoothie. Carrots work in a juicer but maybe not in a blender unless you have a powerful one or grate them first. There are plenty of smoothie recipes and links to relevant sites for recipes if you run a search here and on the Recipes board,…

A basic whey isolate, doesn't need to be anything fancy. There are numerous threads on whey including recommendations if you run a search.

The majority of vegetables are relatively low in sugar if you stick to sensible serving sizes, sweetcorn is the major culprit. Low sugar fruits include berries, red and black currants, grapefruit, pumpkin, rhubarb.

That is the official maximum for health not the recommended amount, MFP just uses the official minimums or maximums for most things, they are not in a position to make up targets for such a diverse population. You should be taking in plenty of natural sodium for health in your seven to nine fruit and veggies, oily fish and…

High doses: a few micronutrients are toxic, some are pee'd out, some you can achieve tolerance or downregulate absorption so create a deficiency when you cut back to a 'normal' intake. Some work synergistically or in opposition so excesses can inhibit the absorption or utilisation of others, Rebound scurvy has been…

Don't confuse matters by involving cups, use the scales.

And yet the dietetics and mainstream medical communities generally counts juice as ONE serving a day regardless of how much you drink. Do you need the nutrients from three pounds of vegetables in a day let alone in one sitting? Or will you be messing with your internal chemistry by stuffing your body full of water and…

There have been threads on this before - the studies have been linked to if you run a search. Interesting research but very early days and certainly not proven.

If you only eat 500 the rest of the day you will be hungry by bedtime and again tomorrow, so the whole cycle will begin again. Just eat healthily and as close to maintenance as possible and learn from this hiccup, you are not going to gain anything eating a few hundred more calories that you intended for one day. Why did…

Curries you could definitely make yourself - I usually use - canned beans OR dried red lentils - fresh red onions and aubergine - any frozen green vegetable - lazy garlic and red chilli - madras curry powder blend - block creamed coconut - canned tomatoes (optional). Dried lentils and fresh veggies go in early, canned…

So this is one of those diets where vitamins are somehow more essential than minerals, essential fatty acids or amino acids? OK then.

Several new threads on this a week, it's worth running a search.

Protein foods don't need to be expensive - try canned oily fish, organ meats like liver, eggs, nuts or seeds. These are also rich in other essential nutrients which protein powders and bars generally don't unless fortified (like taking a multi). Personally I find shakes easier to get down than bars and they are much…

Flax is an excellent source of bulking fibre and many minerals, it is a good source of omega-3s but only the short chain form so not a good substitute for oily fish. You do need to consume quite a bit of ground flax to be worthwhile for anything but the fibre IMO. I've stirred it into oatmeal, smoothies and a dip and it…
