Could you put those tempting things in a not-easy-to-get-to spot in your house? Or, if you just can't stop yourself, you might have to get rid of 'em at least for a while.

I aim to be around 170. But a couple pounds one direction or the other is fine.

It's a both/and thing. I do watch the scale, because I don't want to not-pay-attention, you know? But exercise is so good. Every aspect of my workout that I complete feels like "Hey! I accomplished something!" . . . and it has changed my body in really good ways. I am physically stronger now than I was, I can eat more now…

Cashews.

Two cups each morning, with a tablespoon of heavy cream and a tablespoon of white sugar.

Great job!

I'm in. It IS an adjustment, no? :)

I love to cook, and so does my partner. So one of our favorite things to do now is to find recipes that work within our calories for the day. But we typically cut quantity rather than quality. We still use butter, cream, cheese, meat, and so on -- but we go for the really GOOD stuff, and we have smaller portions of it. My…

Whichever fits the flavor profile of the meal and fits within your allotted calories is the one you should pick. Or both. Both works, too.

dry-roasted edamame with 15g of chocolate chips. 200 calories, very filling, easy to pack and take along, no refrigeration required, and 16 grams of protein.

Before, at 250+ lbs, I pretty much avoided pictures of my whole body . . . but here's my face. My 40th birthday, in November 2012. This week, at 168 lbs, exercising daily (strength and cardio), and counting calories with MFP. I'm where I want to be (except I want to add muscle now):

I will note that if you get the egg-beaters stuff Costco sells, it is (a) high in protein, so you feel full; and (b) good and (c) low-cal. A cup and a quarter of that, scrambled, makes a LOT of scrambled eggs and is only 150 calories. You could add cheese to that, or low-cal salsa, and have a very satisfying, fast, easy…

On days I can't work out, or on days when I work out less-intense-ly, I eat according to my allotted calories. It's just a discipline.
-
I get chocolate chips from costco. 15 grams is 70 calories and you can stretch out the chocolate experience because you can eat one chip at a time.
-
I do eat before I work out in the morning. My usual: 1 glass orange juice 4 oz 0% fage greek yogurt 15 grams chocolate chips 2 cups coffee 1 tablespoon cream 1 tablespoon sugar 2 cups water
-
Well done. Even more cool changes await you. :)

Home-baked chocolate-chip cookies, apparently. *looks at the door to the kitchen where the cookies are whispering my name*

'i got the 3-pound bag of chocolate chips at Costco. 15 grams is only 70 calories and it hits the spot. Then again, I also use real sugar in my coffee. One tablespoon per giant mug. Soo good.

I'm struggling some to figure out what my "window" is, now that I'm done *trying* to lose weight. Yesterday I did in fact eat over the calories suggested . . . stepped on the scale this morning and LOST. Ack! So, today I'm eating MORE. Not that I'm suffering overmuch. I mean, one of my "add calories" things is chocolate…

Well done. Congrats!

Clearly, in the unlikely event of a zombie apocalypse, I'm toast, and after working out for a year. Uffda, what a list!

Byerlys Sunny Broccoli Salad. It's cold, it's refreshing, it's got protein and lots of good vitamins, and if you make it with lite mayonnaise you don't notice one bit of difference and -- 325 calories per cup. (Which is quite a bit, actually). http://www.lundsandbyerlys.com/recipes/recipes/s/sunny-broccoli-salad.aspx…

I drink a cup or two of coffee every day, with one tablespoon of sugar and one tablespoon of heavy cream. I just log it in my calories for the day. No problems thus far. Enjoy your cup of coffee!

A tablespoon brown sugar and a tablespoon of heavy cream makes oatmeal muuuuuuch better. And what others have said about blueberries and other fruit is a good addition too. Steel-cut oats are truly a wonderful breakfast, especially on cold mornings in the fall/winter/spring in Minnesota.

"Sorry, I've had my calories for today." Then don't eat what they offer. It is *their* choice to offer. It is *your* choice to politely decline, if you are at or over your calories for the day. Or it may be your choice to have a small portion within your allotted calories and then stop. There are times when the best thing…

I only drink when I have the calories for it . . . so that narrows it down! But because I only drink occasionally, I generally have ONE drink. That is both because I don't have the calories for multiple drinks and because, well, when you only drink occasionally, one drink can affect you pretty quickly and thoroughly. I…

I don't run, and I lost 80 pounds. I do use the elliptical, and I take walks outside, and I do strength-building stuff on the machines at the gym. And I log all that (and my food, obviously) on MFP. So there's hope for you too! :)
