  • The workouts help...so do all the sexy ladies on this thread!
  • Definitely do your rest days! I started really going after it and doing 5-6 days straight. After about two weeks I had to take a whole week off because my legs constantly hurt. That then set me back about 2 days to get my stamina back. You would rather plan a day or two than have to take two weeks.
  • LOL...this thing cracks me up. I think, ultimately, people approve of the noun and not the verb. AKA: It is ok to life heavy to be "toned up", but you can't go "toning" at the gym. However, based on my Communications 101 class, the fact that everyone knew what the other was talking about and was able to either answer the…
  • Anything is good in moderation. I switch back and forth. For instance (also doing C25K) I just did 2.5 miles on the t-mill and my right knee is a bit achy, so I am going to give it a day or two (maybe even a week) and switch to bike, walking and elliptical. I think sometimes more so than the banging on the joint, is the…
  • I promise I am not hating - just in awe. But are you training for something like a half marathon, or is this just what you do for fun?
  • You went from an awkward guy to a beautiful woman...lol. Your top pic is awkwardly cut where you are not in it
  • If I can do it at 280...you can do it. I am at Week 7 - 2.5 mile run! It is a slow pace, but it feels good when you are done. Good luck!
  • Couple of things here. I will try to be succinct: 1) water, water, water. Definitely helps to curb your appetite and helps in many other ways 2) calories in/calories out: Just focus on this right now. If you have the calories left, have the snack. 3) the late night eating thing is based on the fact that your metabolism…
  • I think the first issue is just having the grace to understand that most ppl are not trying to be *kitten*. It is sort of funny to see the people on here that say things like, "what they really mean is..." and "you know they are thinking..." NO! You do not know what they really mean or what they are thinking (sans a…
  • This sort of concerns me because I feel as though you have an unhealthy view of both food and exercise. Yes, it is calories in/calories out. Yes, exercise is a good thing. BUUUUT, food is a good thing. To be honest, OCCASIONALLY, a lot of food is ok, too. I know we all tend to have this Draconian, hardcore view of food.…
  • I just went out and had a good time last night. The truth is that you just need to be accountable. Make yourself look at the calories and all of that stuff. I used to hate dieting because it made my life suck. I am determined not to do that this time. So I do things like go out. Then the next day I do a good work out and…
  • I am also open to new friends. Feel free to add.
  • I am not a fast runner 13:15-13:30, however, I actually maintain around the same. The difference, as previously mentioned, I fluctuate between 5 mph and 4mph to get the 4.5. However, I generally contemplate suicide on the treadmill. It is better just to wake up early or go out late and get your run in a few times a week.
  • Yeah...my goal for a true morning run is to be about a half mile into it before I realize what I am doing. If I think about it too long, there is a good chance it is not going to happen, lol. More importantly, I think it is all about what you eat the night before. If I know I am going for a run the next day I try to get…
  • I am there with you. I am probably down to an A cup from a C:wink: However, you do you. If you want to go swimming - go swimming. What if you got horribly sick tomorrow and found out you could never swim again? You let what someone possibly would think of you stop you from doing what you enjoy. I know it sucks, I think of…
  • Agree with the slowing down. In addition, focus on "belly breathing" getting some good deep breaths down to the diaphragm and getting all of that CO2 out in the exhale. I have a lot of trouble with this, but like clockwork, when I feel like I can't run anymore, I really focus on this and it helps. Also, this time of year,…
  • I am taking a guess here. But, like anything else, while you can't "spot train" you can make sure to focus on exercises for your obliques and lower back. That should help. As my lady always says, "there's always Spanx!"
  • First off, any steps in the right direction deserves congratulations. I kept my running under wraps for a long time because, if I quit, I didn't want to feel guilty. For better or worse, I think I will be running for awhile more. You can read more about my jogging thing at…
  • Just speaking the truth!
  • Feel free to add me and I will be as motivating as possible!

  • I will take a shot. First off, really see what "nothing major" looks like for those weekend days. I know sometimes I come out of a weekend where I thought I did ok, and do a mid-week weigh in. It was not so ok...lol. Also, switch it up! The fact that you can jog 3-4 miles tells me that you may not be getting the calorie…
  • One other thing! In regard to your lil one. I think it is so important to help others (especially your children) to incorporate a healthy lifestyle from an early age. Walk with them in the stroller. Heck, if it gets to easy sneak some weights into the bottom of the stroller for a lil strength training ;) As they get older,…
  • Lots of great info from folks here. I would say this (I have not done this myself, officially): make a workout bucket list. In a recent post, I talked about how I wanted to jog a 1/2 a mile, then my BIG goal was to do a mile. I had sort of forgot about that, and then last weekend I jogged for 2 miles straight. I found the…
  • I started getting the compliments at around 20lbs. It was actually my boss that first asked if I was losing weight. As dark as I am, I think I actually blushed. It felt really good. Now I tend to get the comments as I update fb profile pics or from people that haven't seen me in a couple of months. On another note, for…
  • As you probably know, sizes in Asia run MUCH smaller than the Western world. I am no geneticist, but some of Asians' size probably is due to just who they are and the environmental factors. AKA get a size 10 dress and laugh about it when you get a size 6 back in the States
  • Alright...I just saw this. As of now for June I am at 11 miles. I may not make 50, but this will push me!
  • I will take some friends, as well
  • I'm sure for some women this is the cause of much stress. Let me tell you all...from a guy's prospective. If you have a decent shape and carry yourself well - thick to lean - we will take notice. All of you just keep up the good work, and gap or no gap, your confidence (which you need to achieve your mfp goals) and hard…
  • Great job everyone!
