Antithesis, you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Brussel sprouts, chick peas. Those are the only two foods that I will not eat and I've tried many "unusual" foods. I just cannot abide the taste of the former or the texture of the latter.

Just being nit picky but a bowl is a unit of measurement. It's just not standard unit of measuring volume. But if you have a recipe that calls for one part to one part to two parts, you could use that bowl for your measurement and get the correct end product.

I always get the minestrone and eat a couple breadsticks. I'm just not big on most of their food. It I love that soup. Oh, and the Sicilian cheesecake... *Homer drooling gif

Are we talking about a bowl of fat or muscle?

I had these exact symptoms when I went from drinking two pots of coffee a day to zero coffee. It wasn't even intentional. I just didn't feel like coffee. The headaches were awful. Take a headache medicine that contains caffeine and you'll probably feel better.

I tried to mark it as insightful but my phone wouldn't let me. I guess it is a smart phone! Da dum tshhh

Fun fact: When hippos are upset, their sweat turns red.

All I read in this post was BAAAAAAAHHHHHH!
-
This thread started out meh but became amazing!
-
Thank goodness you mentioned this again. Someone might have forgotten the fact that whenever you hear a story, you're only hearing one side. This sort of common knowledge not only needs to be stated once but a second time. People often forget the glaringly obvious.

How are you even posting this? Clearly you should be dead from the carcinogens. I sure hope all of your abusers are rotting in prison right now. (For those that take everything literally, this is sarcasm.)

They don't cause weight loss but there are plenty of handy tools out there. My Fitbit is exactly like my pen and paper I use to track my weight training. Is it essential? No. Does it improve efficiency? Yes. I don't need a car to get me to the store either but it sure is a useful tool. I'll keep the tools I find useful.

So you're saying there's hope yet? That's encouraging.

But the kid doesn't pack the snack. Refusing to engage the parent almost ensures that there will be a repeat event. Are you purposely refusing to acknowledge that the teacher could have maybe handled this better?
-
Oh, so you maintain that a parent should consult school policy for an issue that she did not even know was an issue? But what she did say was that the handout at the beginning of the school year did not specify anything. But yet again you are veering into the not relavent soapbox tangent. The point wasn't the nutritional…
-
Bummer, I thought we'd found common ground, that the teacher should have told the parent about the issue since she's the one that packs the snack. I see you maintain that only telling the kindergartener was the wisest route to dealing with the issue.
-
You've been in the thread for long enough to know that it was not.
-
True. It's been a while since I've visited these forums. I'm just surprised at the change in tone. It's more like one of those baby forums where people cry abuse or bad parenting for the most benign stuff. It's not a positive change. It's actually a bit creepy. The demographic has shifted.

An African or a European swallow?
-
Exactly! She told the son, not the parent. I'm so glad we finally agree!
-
One more time. The teacher never told the parent to not pack a pop tart. She was lazy, didn't define what snacks qualified and then punished the child for something that was out of his control. THAT was the OP's issue. There never would have been a thread if the teacher had taken the five minutes to either define what…

So after reading and participating in this thread I've come to the conclusion that most people fit into one of two categories. The ones that see the composition of a diet as a whole (the balancing of nutrient dense and nutrient sparse foods to create and overall healthful diet) as most important and those that believe the…
-
Yeah. They really aren't that great. Some people swear by then but I've only ever sort of liked the frosted brown sugar ones.
-
Some people have jumped to a lot of conclusions about the OP and didn't bother to do any investigating.
-
Such an old thread!
-
So a child should never have a sweet treat that has a low nutrition profile? How about this. Teach your kid about the difference between nutrient dense food and nutrient sparse ones. Then teach your kid that moderating the nutrient poor ones is very important and that the vast majority of the diet should consist of the…

The General advice is that continuing an exercise program that you've already been engaging in prior to becoming pregnant is fine in the absence of any medical reason to not do so. But as the poster above me stated, talk to your medical professional. It is unlikely that they will encourage and will most likely discourage…

When I want a bit more protein but a few less calories in my scrambled eggs, I feed the yolk to my dog, but I rarely do that because egg yolks are delicious.
