I'm an emotional girl who struggles with self-confidence and rarely gets hit on by men too (no matter what weight I'm at), so I can really sympathize with you. That being said, what I've learned to do during moments like the one you're in is to remember ME. I often forget about MY wants, MY dreams, MY needs, MY likes, MY…

Am I the only person who feels sick just LOOKING at those pancakes?? :noway: I swear I'm not wearing a "clean eater" hat and judging people! It just looks like a sugar overload and my stomach can't handle things that are that ridiculously sweet. (Even when I was heavier my stomach didn't like food that was too…

That's not true for everyone. It matters for some people. For some people, timing their meals makes a BIG difference. I'm glad that you figured out what works for you though. I always enjoy hearing when people figure out what works best for them!

You can only lose weight by eating at a deficit, but how you spread out your allotted calories throughout day can make it easier or harder to feel satisfied eating at that deficit (and therefore keep it up and lose weight). Different methods work better for different people. And sometimes different methods work better on…

At least you acknowledge and accept it though! I'll openly admit that I can sometimes be rude and snarky (and justify that by telling myself I'm just being honest) and that I can sometimes be overly sensitive!

Many reasons: -Some people are cowards in real life and use the internet to lash out at others while hiding behind their keyboards. -Some people actually have serious anger issues. -Some people have absolutely no patience with others; virtually every little thing that anyone else does annoys them like crazy and makes them…

Haha, yeah the humidity here SUCKS sometimes. Light anti-humidity hair spray helps some. But honestly, I don't spend more than 5-10 minutes on my hair most days because there's just no point. The only times I spend more than that on my hair: special occasions!

I live in Florida, where it's always warm. I went running on the beach 3 times this week, I have a beach party I'm going to this Saturday, and I've been in shorts, dresses, and sandals all week.

First of all, if you're 5'6" and around 158 lbs, you're NOT going to gain weight quickly eating at 1800 calories/day. (You may not even gain at all; that may be close to maintenance for you, but everyone's body is different so I can't say for sure.) So your one day of eating at 1800 calories almost certainly had ABSOLUTELY…

I can't speak for the Flex, but I've had a Fitbit One for over a year now and I LOVE IT!!! It's tiny and can clip onto virtually ANY outfit and hide easily. It counts my steps, stairs/floors, distance, and how many calories I've burned, which seems to be pretty accurate in my experience. It syncs super easily to MFP and…

Lentils are amazing! For one cup, it's around 230 calories and 18 grams of protein! Yogurts are really good. If you can eat greek yogurt, I'd say go for that. If you can't, there's always soy and other based yogurts. Nut butters are great too, if you're not already eating those. There's also soy protein powder. You could…

Either go and buy a tasty, healthier snack to eat instead or just eat and enjoy half (or a quarter) of a donut.

I'm having a similar party with a bunch of my single girlfriends too. All I know so far is that there's going to be LOTS of chocolate hehehe! Hmm, well I'm not sure what to recommend, it depends on what you all like. You could do something exciting and different by trying to cook up an ethnic dish that everyone…

The way to do it is to eat a lot of foods throughout the day that have high protein counts but are relatively low in calories. The best source of protein is obviously meat but you don't need to eat a whole chicken. For instance, one breast of chicken will have anywhere between of 30 and 50 grams of protein, depending on…

Naproxen/Aleve has been my lifesaver too! It's seriously prevented me from losing jobs and failing my classes! Lol! Praise God for that stuff, I swear!

If I have cramps, I skip my workout. I only get cramps for 1-2 days of my cycle though and the other days I'm perfectly fine, so it's never a big deal if I skip a day or two. Our bodies need rest anyway. I work out based on how I feel: whether it's pain from cramps or fatigue and dizziness because I only got 1 hour of…

Well, if that's the case and it's a regular thing for you to feel really hungry and deprived, you may not be eating enough. You may need to add a couple hundred extra calories to your diet every day. But if all of this only happens on some days...well, we all have days when we're feeling hungrier than usual. I usually just…

When I looked at your diary entries during the past 1-2 weeks, I saw large lunches. Most days, your lunches were between 500 and 700 calories and you had only 1 or 2 snacks. If your lunches are 500-700 calories on a regular basis...THAT'S your problem. If you're just listing half of that food under "Lunch" but you're…

First thing I was going to say right off the bat was more fiber and protein. But I just looked at your diary and you seem to be getting enough of those. You can even afford to lower the protein a bit if you want. You're doing a good job with fiber and protein. I think your problem is that you're not spreading your calories…

Your theory works for only two types of people: people who (like you used to apparently) work out WAY too much and people who only care about getting to a very low number on the scale and couldn't care less about fitness, strength, muscle, or body fat. For everyone else, your theory doesn't really work that well. It…

Bananas are amazing! They're a go-to snack of mine too! When I need that pick me up, what works is a cup of coffee and a banana, sometimes with a little bit of peanut butter. It's healthy, natural, filling, not too high in calories, and it really does a great job of giving me energy!

You're not going to see any changes in only 2 1/2 weeks. It takes TIME and PATIENCE. Keep up the work! The pounds and inches will slowly start to fall off. Give it about 1-2 months of doing what you're doing. If at that point, you still don't see ANY results (not even 1 lb down and absolutely NO inches lost ANYWHERE), then…

CONGRATS ON THE HARD WORK AND WEIGHT LOSS!!! :flowerforyou: You look gorgeous! I, too, struggle with accepting myself and my imperfections even after losing 50 lbs. And sometimes I think it's actually harder to accept your body after working so hard to lose a lot of weight. So I know exactly what you're feeling! Just try…

Wow. I feel like a freak of nature compared to all of the slim-legged women in here. Clearly our weight distributes VERY differently! Height: 5'4" Weight: 127 lbs Thigh: 22" Calf: 15" Body Fat: 22%

A super buff, gym rat meathead

I can totally relate to this. I lost 50 lbs and went from a size 16 to a size 4. I thought that losing all of that extra weight would solve all of my problems, make my life perfect, and land me a wonderful boyfriend. Then I got a major reality check: all of my other problems are still there needing to be dealt with, my…

Yep, this is me. I'm never sure if men are actually checking me out or not. I honestly don't even know how to tell when a man is checking me out, unless he's ridiculously obvious about it...and even then I doubt it.

So, so true! I think part of the reason why I was never able to lose the weight (and then keep it off) before is because I didn't care much about health, I only wanted to be skinny. Until you become passionate about being HEALTHY, you'll never be able to lose the weight and keep it off.

I log tea, mainly because I put some lemon juice and honey in my tea as well and those have calories, very few, but they still have calories. I log just about everything. The only things I don't log are stuff like gum and cough drops, but I don't even have those very often.

Sure, it's perfectly fine for a person to work out that much. Many athletes do, for instance. I used to swim competitively growing up and most days I worked out for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Some days I worked out for 4 hours (a 2-hour morning workout at 6 am and another 2-hour afternoon workout, usually around 4 pm). As long as…
