CONGRATS EVERYONE. Good work in January. FW for challenge: 133.5lbs. Not a great success for me - but here's to February being great!
-
I was out of town for a wedding, and I missed a check in. How is everyone doing?! (Can't get to a scale until after work, so I can't check in til later.)
-
We are close! 5'0 SW: 150+ CW: 134 UGW:125-128

Check in day for me! Anyone else? MFP SW: 150+ SW for this challenge:135 Weigh in 28 Dec: 131.6 which seemed way too low/weighed in at 133 the next day. Weird. Weigh in 4 January: 132.4 Mini GW for next week: 132 GW for the Jan 31st challenge: 129.5

Me too. Just read a good article that mentionned the "dieting" and "cheat day" mentality breeds fear of food type thinking that actually results in more temporary life changes. Considering this a lifelong habit has helped me stick with it!
-
I'm doing them every Monday (so tomorrow is the second weigh in for me, not including the original post/weight) - but whatever works for you!
-
I don't get it - what does it do? What does it track? Can it tell you calories burned? Is it a heart rate monitor?
-
Yeeeeaahhh... just as I suspected. I bounced back up to 133 again after the fluke Monday weigh in. Re-posting my check-in. MFP SW: 150+ SW for this challenge:135 Weigh in 30 Dec: 133.4 UGW: 125 GW for the Jan 31st challenge: 129.5

Can I friend you guys?

Okay! Today is the first weigh in day. How did everybody do?! MFP SW: 150+ SW for this challenge:135 Weigh in 28 Dec: 131.6??? What? GW: 125 GW for the Jan 31st challenge: 129.5 I was happy when I got on the scale this afternoon, although I think that since my weigh bounces up and down so much I might actually see a gain…

fitnessblender.com has search capacity and you can select a target area, low impact, strength building, etc. I love it! Good luck.

Interesting to read everyone's goals. I work at a non profit in Haiti and we host teams of American nurses etc. Every time a team comes my workout routine STOPS. My NYR is to keep going with my fitness routine even when there's teams. My personal goal is to clean 20-30 minutes a day so the weekends are less overwhelming.

Not late! We are going for end of Jan, not the end of December. We've still got a month!
-
I'm in! .... er, that is, for next month? Well I'll put myself in now and maybe y'all can accept me for January.

Hi, Just saw this. Its really interesting. I am adding you on MFP. You are so honest and I think that is so great. I am heartbroken that you are beating yourself up! First piece of advice is: "When I work out, I feel fatter, lazier, and less accomplished than I did before. I know it's stupid, but the fact that I'm out of…

Bump. Any shorties out there?
-
God bless you, friend. So sorry its hard. We are here for ya!
-
Yeah, recipe please!

don't be afraid of fat. I've lost 40 pounds over the years and its hasn't been by cutting out fat! What the guy above said is right- your body needs fat. I worry more about non-plant carbs and limiting those. I never want to eat too much gross fat. But almonds, avocado, some whole milk. Not only not the end of the world…
-
You need a Fat. Avocado, ghee or butter, or sour cream...
-
I agree. Its not the best day to start. If it were me, I'd cave into all the tasty's and then feel like I'd 'failed' and I'd be less likely to continue. What about Jan 1? All that new year's atmosphere of hopefullness etc!
-
Wow, I love that!
-
What she said! Although I'd add that the "slim fast" type diets where you're eating processed foods can work for some, but the natural - whole foods diets seem more sustainable to me (and more delicious - and more what our bodies were made to eat - and more affordable....)
-
Hitting the next "round number" on the scale is my subjective goal - but my actual, real life motivation would be seeing my arms and back looking slim in a bridesmaids dress next month at my best friend's wedding!
-
HANG IN THERE MY FRIEND~! You're an inspiration! Great, great job for getting back on the horse. And snap out of it. Your calories are probably fine. Gaining 20lbs doesn't mean you get to eat tons more every day. In fact, if you're trying to shed weight, you probably don't. I can't say enough how great it is that…

GREAT JOB! WOW.
