You are welcome. I ran into the same issue myself and didn't realize that I wasn't eating enough to sustain any gains I may have had without knowing the real burn. When I did wear a HRM, I burned about 868 calories in one 60 minute session.

You will have to create the exercise. A good way to find the calorie count is to use this website. http://caloriesburnedhq.com/zumba-calories-burned/

MFP asks you to put it under dancing general, but it grossly underestimates the calorie burn. My suggestion will be to wear a HRM (Heart Rate Monitor) and then add your own exercise. There is a calculator on this website that's pretty good. http://caloriesburnedhq.com/zumba-calories-burned/

One last thing. You will probably need to eat more than just the 1200 calories to see a marked difference. I can tell you that I was doing the eating less than 1200 calories and didn't see the real difference in the scale until I started eating a bit more. I don't mean that you need to eat back all of the calories you burn…

Woowzers!!!!!!!! You look amazing!. Its almost like you cam tell you are the man...officially...lol.

I think its totally possible. you will really have to eat clean and work out religiously but it can be done. I have done so since Thanksgiving week. I should also say that it has to do with where you are starting. If you are smaller already, it will be more difficult. I have been going to the gym four days a week. I…

I'm right there with you and support your efforts. You look amazing. I think that the weight loss is helping me along without the treatments so far. Thank GOD!

My goodness, you look amazing. Congrats on your successes. And good luck with however much more you want to lose.

I do Zumba four days a week and have two awesome instructors. I started at 277 and am now down to 249 since Thanksgiving. Zumba is awesome because you can go at your own fitness level. As long as you are moving, no matter how, you are doing it right. I live in Texas and 24 Hour fitness offers Zumba and childcare. Try it,…

Definitely, counting calories and exercise is the way to go. You become accountable for the food you put in your mouth when you count your calories. I started at 277 and am now at 251 since Thanksgiving. I can't even tell you how many inches I have lost either. It's very easy to get in the calories when you are eating junk…

I can actually attest to that being true. I will add this caveat, I am a larger woman and started at 277 lbs. I wore a heart monitor to class and burned 876 calories in one 60 minute session that included a cool down. I did it at a moderate impact level as well.

I cannot speak for the videos, as I only do the live classes. (side note: I did purchase the Exhilerate DVD set as well) What I can tell you is that the workout is real. The calorie burn is real. The fun factor is amazing and its probably one of the only reasons that some people, including myself come to the gym. ( I will…

^^This. It really does taste great.

You should add some frozen fruit to it. Walmart has the big bag of mixed frozen fruit for 7.50 and you might want to add some lowfat protein powder as well. I do these everyday.

You will need to eat back the calories you have gained from working out so that your body can have the energy to work properly. Your body needs the calories to rebuild the muscle you have so diligently worked on. Muscle does not weigh more than fat but it does need more calories to sustain it. Look at it like this. If you…

Another good one is to do the taco salad sans the Taco shell and refried beans. If you do it that way with the grilled meat, then you can have the cheese and the sour cream. I do it at Rosa's Cafe with their fiesta salad and its only 460 cal for the whole salad. I don't put salad dressing on it. I put the salsa and…

That was for the sunglasses one. Above me, the intensity in your eyes.

I've noticed that my body responds well to lifting. My goal is to shred body fat and general weight loss. I follow the body for life weights routine. I like it because it allows you to grow with your workout as you all you need to do is add more weight. I either do upper body or lower body and alternate the days every…

You look absolutely radiant!!!!! Congrats on your journey and what is to come.

I normally underestimate calories just for those type of discrepancies. I could never eat the amount of calories back that it asks me to do. I find that if you are eating junk, its really easy to get the calories in. Once you start to eat clean, its a mess to get all of that food in.
-
I know, and the crazy thing is that I really want to optimize my workouts so I do both my weight training and then do my Zumba cardio right afterward. I would have eaten better. I guess knowledge is power.
-
Thanks. That really means I am way under eating. I've gotta step it up.

To the newbies, MFP asks you to recalculate each time you lose 10 pounds. I didn't recalculate last time but I will now. It is not automatic though. You can keep it the same.

Unfortunately, we are inherently given a specific body type based on bone structure. The good thing is that though you may not be able to change the initial shape of your body, you can work certain parts of your body to enhance and draw attention away from the spots you don't want attention. For instance. I am a pear…

If you are eating out, ( and I'm not sure where you are). You can always have mexican and do a fiesta salad with grilled chicken or shrimp. This is without the taco shell and beans and it is very filling. You can also have it with the sour cream, guacamole and salsa and it will still come in under that amount.

It's a nice pic of you. Don't be afraid of the camera. I promise it likes you...
