Thank you, this is really helpful! I basically prepare most of our meals on weekends and portion them out for the week ahead any way and I use *very* little processed food. I make my own salad dressing from olive oil, lemon juice, salt & pepper (sometimes garlic if I have the time and am feeling motivated). I don't eat…

watch out for sauces, gravy, soups and stews. Wheat flour is used to thicken LOTS of stuff that you wouldn't really think about. I bought frozen cauliflour with a butter sauce frmo trador joes only to realise that the sauce had wheat in it.

I LOVE eggs, almost any way... a few of my recent favs: Scrambled with sauteed swisschard and onion - veggies sauteed first and eggs added once veggies are mostly cooked hardboiled - cut in half with fresh ground sea salt and cracked pepper mixed with mashed ripe banana in that paleo pancake recipe in a quiche with lots of…

i've done: cuke, kale, parsley, lemon, celery and apples - with and with out ginger. it is a variation from the "hungry for Change" book. if you google "Hungry for change juicing" you will probably find the exact recipes. to make your own recipe, you need to pick a few watery components: cukes, apples, celery, tomatoes a…

kefir is just a fermented beverage, you can get water kifer and milk/yogurt kifer... give it a try - don't be afraid of it. It is the same as eatign yogurt, the active cultures keep the flora in your gut healthy. ...like those ridiculious commercials for activia yogurt ... same theory - there is nothing special about…

you might want to just play with the number of calories you are having... I peeked at your diary and some days you are having over 2000. I know the whole primal/paleo thing states you should not count calories, but it is a fact that if you consume as many calories than your body needs to function, you are not goign to lose…

Yes! well said, this is what I was trying to convey :-)

This is very true! 4-5 years ago I used to be a hige diet coke addict! I drank it in place of coffe int eh morning to get my caffeene kick. I kept hearin how bad it was for me, but couldn't go with out it ... until I decided it was poison and hurting my body. It took probably 2 years of not having it until when I tasted it…

also to those who said they would enjoy the treat and ajust your calories - that is great if you are able to do it... some of us (I can't imagine I am the only one) it would be the start of a landslide, jumping face first in to a tub of ben and jerries ...it is about knowign yourself and your abilities... I have trigger…

Great job saying "no thank you"... I have found that dicipline to say no to stuff that you don't really want to eat is like that is a muscle - you need to exercise it - the more you say no the easier it gets. I also find that if I make a rule for myself - like i don't eat (donuts, or cake or fill in the blank) ... ahead of…

you are an amazing inspiration! Great job!! Keep up the great work! :-)

I love the ice cream idea! Bump

I do frozen ripe banana with unsweetened cocoa powder in the blender - it tasted like choco banana ice cream - YUM I like dark chocolate so I don't add anything to sweeten it - bananas are pretty sweet anyway, but if you like things sweeter, you could add honey or another sweetener

^^^ this!! Maintenance is where I've failed before... not this time!!

we do the frozen banana "ice cream" thing. Just frozen ripe bananas & cocoa powder int eh food processor. I'm going to have to try the sweet potato brownies though! ... I have trie dthe avocodo mousse - AWESOME!

so this is going to sound VERY CORNY - I'm sorry in advance for that lol... but you really have to boost yourself up... talk to yourself the way you would talk to a friend. if your close friend had accomplished what you have (even if she hadn't for that matter) and she was interested in a guy - what would you tell her? GO…

Alisha, Don't worry about that. If he's a good guy - he won't care about your height and weight. My hubby has loved me through thick (294) and thin (148 - while thin for me, i was a size 6) ... Let him know how you feel. Be confident in yourself and all you've accomplished!! You are wonder woman - he would be lucky to have…

YES! I can totally relate. 9 years ago I lost 128 lbs and got down to a size 6, I was more self conscious and worries about my appearance and looking fat than i was at my heaviest... I actually think that bad body image is the main reason I gained all the weight back... I still saw myself as fat so I made it a reality…
