This advice from Laura, seriously gets me through some days.

^^^^ THIS times a 100!!! I lost 128lbs 9 years ago and now I am on MFP trying to lose it again... be patient with yourself and try to concentrate on sustainable LIFESTYLE changes! If you lose 100lbs and then think you've arrived, you'll be back at your start weight or higher before you know what hit you. You have to take…

Hi Tonya, It is great that you are enjoying this choice! I have experience similar things. RE constipation - I would drink more water and eat more fruits and veggies - particularly high water content ones... also dried prunes are a shure fire way to improve that situation... as you may remember - that is a common symptom…

Hi there, Welcome to Paleo. I started leaning in to it in January by eliminating wheat and sugar and just started my first whole30 on March 4th (like Paleo, but no sugar at all) Here is a new site that was suggested by a fellow paleo friend with great recipes: http://www.thefoodee.com/

one other thought, you could try looking in the whole9 forums or asking there: http://whole9life.com/start/

respectfully, I think this is a bad Idea, when you sweat you release toxins in your system... Can you just change your underwear whewn you are done working out? That is what I do.

Hi There, My suggestion would be to eat some good carbs, like sweet potato. The tiredness does pass after a week or so. I just started leaning in to paleo Jan '13 and fully transitioned to Paleo march 1st by starting the whole30 (i'm on day 15 now). My key to success is to prep meals for the week on Sunday. I just made…

I cook/prep all our food for Mon-Sat breakfast on Sunday... I make a big pan of scrambled eggs with onion and swiss chard and divide it up in to individual portions. I usually do like 16 eggs and divide it in to 8 portions so I have one for each work day and there is some in the fridge for my 18month old daughter - whole…

good to know , I just asked about Balsamic on another thread.. glad to have the answer :-)

bump - sounds delish!

I'm not sure, they say small amounts of fruit juice are ok if absolutely necessary... I'm guessing probably not concentrate because that is pretty processed... I am interested in what others think. I was also wondering about Molasses and balsamic vinegar... Are those ok? (I am on day 15 of the whole 30) GL! :-)

I've taken to steaming frozen haddock in the oven (in a glass baking dish) with a little olive oil, lemon, salt & pepper. from frozen it takes 10-15 minutes. Also I sautee a bunch of greens (spinach or swiss chard) a couple of times a week and keep that in the fridge so I can portion some out to go with what ever protein I…

for those who have questions on Whole30: here is the link: http://whole9life.com/start/ and the explination of what to expect: http://whole9life.com/2012/06/the-whole30-timeline/ I started almost 2 weeks ago and I am loving it. It seems restrictive at first, but once you get in to it it is really good. I am less hungry my…

I love this! I am doing the whole30 now, but hope to end up here as long as I don't identify a sensitivity to dairy (fingers crossed) I've been leaning in to paleo Jan '13, and fully committed almost 2 weeks ago. Feel free to add me if you like

oh, and I do count calories ( my target is 1400) ... I know what you eat will effect your loss... but when it comes down to it, I still believe in calories in must be less than calories out ...
-
You might want to look in to the Whole30 (kind of a strict system reset for Paleo). I started almost 2 weeks ago and I am loving it. It seems restrictive at first, but once you get in to it it is really good. I am less hungry my cravings for sugar and junk is gone. here is the link: http://whole9life.com/start/ and the…

You look great!! ... and happy (in an "I kick *kitten*" kind of way) which the most importatn thing! Excellent job!

...and soybean oil ... that seems to be in a BUNCH of stuff!

Hi There, I'm on day 12 too if you want to add me you can. I agree, once you decide to do it, it is not as hard as I thought it would be. The hardest thing is really being vigilant about reading packages (not that you'll be eating food from many packages) and if you go out to eat really asking questions and advocating for…

When the time is right, it will happen for you. :-)

THIS!!! I totally agree! Unless your head was totally disconnected from your body - how could you possibly not know?!?
-
I love babies - I gotta know now too ... even though I don't know you :-) ...I'd still be so happy for you!! having a baby is the best most amazing, wonderful life changing thing Ive ever done! she is my heart! I hope the same for you :-)

It can be hard to stick, I started leaning in to Paleo in early Jan and did very well for more than a month, but I let personal stress derail me and the ast week and a half of feburary was awful! I was just going off a little here adn there at first, but it led me (quickly) face first in to a total nose dive. ... I am now…

hahaha - I actually did lol
-
Just a follow up, I started yesterday... I needed the weekend to shop and prepare food. Day 2 and so far so good!!
-
I agree with Laura, you just have to start out simple. I just made baked haddok (really it steamed int eh oven) for the first time last night and it was super easy and delicious! I laid out foil on a cookie sheet, sprinkled some olive oil on the foil, placed the frozen haddock fillets on the foil, sprinkled S&P and the…

THank you all. THis is helpful! so another question, when you use coconut milk do you buy the refrigerated carton or the can? Yesterday I went looking at whole foods... the refrigerated carton had like 10 ingredients including sugar, even in the unsweetened one... so I bought the canned organic coconut milk which has three…

I'm on day 1 of the whole 30 as well! its a good time to start (anytime right?) You can add me if you want and we can go through the whole 30 together.
-
Hi Tanya, You can add me if you like. I am fairly new - have been transitioning to Palio/primal since the 1st of the year. I actually have been on this journey and moving in the direction of whole foods for a long time, but leaning more in to the lifestyle. I started by eliminating most processed foods and in January…

This is the best advice, I've gotten - I have a lot to lose too and just aiming to weight less next week and this wek is much easier to digest. YES! Carbs & sugar for me completely trigger me to lose control over what i'm eating and it is a slippery slop - I eat a little, then want a little more ... and more and so on!!…
