  • For the odd bout of exercise it probably wouldn't matter but if you are exercising regularly you should probably eat your exercise calories (or at least some of them) to avoid your body having too much of a deficit. I would say this is particularly important if you are only eating 1200 kc per day. No expert though - each…
  • Oh, to be so perfect  Think I might just stick to being imperfect and happy though:happy:
  • That's brilliant WELL DONE :flowerforyou: Sometimes it's nice to see the results on something like this rather than just concentrating on the scales. I'm just rediscovering a whole set of clothes that I could no longer fit in to. It's like having a whole new wardrobe a 2nd time around

  • I have actually decided to do this without additional exercise. Don't get me wrong, I get on my bike every now and then and sometimes go for long walks but I hate getting hot and sweaty at the gym. I've joined numerous gyms, brougth dvd's and all the home equipment you can think of, but only maintain this for a few months…
  • : Motivation - seeing my number of log on days clock up on my home page - Today I got the 50 days message - Can't believe I've logged in every day over that period ot time. I'm a bit of a lurker - don't post a huge deal, but just popping in here each day and seeing I'm not alone on this journey is helping me stay on track.…

  • I'm with Junebride on this one. Cheat days aren't good for me because I find it hard to get back on track the next day. Instead I allow myself calories each day for my treats. What I have found is that over time my choices of 'treat' have changed. At one time it was always chocolate, but having managed to give it up over…
  • I lost 8lb in 2 weeks and then stuck for 2. Unfortunately I then had a holiday and put 2 back on which I lost the following week. I'm hoping it will start to move again now. Your body may just be adjusting to the sudden change in eating habits. This is what I think mine did. It isn't a plateau, just an instinctive reaction…
  • My NSV - Logging on for 35 days in a row and not eating candy/chocolate for the entire period of Lent - and not missing it too much either  Used to munch my way through a family size bag in one sitting so am proud of my achievement.

Am only just under each day so my body won't have gone into fat-saving mode. Can only put…
  • But surely you are missing important nutrients here? Plus, the moment you start to eat in any way 'normally' the weight will go straight back on. This doesn't sound a healthy option to me.

  • Unfortunately this is true. Your body goes into starvation mode if you don't eat enough calories over a prolonged period of time. Some people who don't eat enough calories even gain weight which is wierd I know! Also, if you continue to lose weight at a drastic rate you will quite likely be losing muscle rather than fat.…
  • You should be proud, you look great :flowerforyou:
  • OMG, I've lost 4.08% of my body weight since I started this challenge - it is just so motivating to see that on the chart - thank you so much for updating this each week. I am feeling very up for it this week but am worrying about next week because I'm away from Tues - Sat, staying in B & B and doing 'tea shop walks' in…

  • Oh dear. All I wanted to do was create a quote and now I have posts all over the place :blushing: SPARKLE thank you for your support. My thoughts are that my extra weight didn't arrive overnight so it isn't realistic of me to expect it to just melt away overnight (nice as that would be:wink: ). Good luck in getting to…
  • Am feeling empowered. Ate out tonight and chose steak & new potatoes. Might not sound like a big deal but for me this is all about making the right choices. No complicated diet plans, just good old fashioned cal counting and a tad of common sense. I'm done with messing up my metabolism with crash diets - will be happy with…
