Glad to see that everyone has been enjoying the day, except for poor Laura, who has to rest. :) I'm having a nice day, too. Went to work for half a day, then got an easy pace run in, then canine freestyle class, now I'm headed to zumba. Need to decide what I'm going to do tomorrow morning: -- swim & water aerobics (5-10…

Good morning all! Rest day for me as far as official exercise! No choice. I have work, then home, grab the dogs and get to nosework practice, then watch beginning flyball as I eat dinner, then attend regular flyball class, and then home by 10 pm and immediately to bed so that I can get up and to work on Friday. I try to…

Terrific, Maria! Hope you either did your run or enjoyed your rest, Laura.

Metabolic Conditioning class today. It went well. Just did the class and my Convict Conditioning plan (knee lifts and modified pullups). No stairs today to give my knee a bit of a break. I decided on Monday that this would be a week of increased eating, so am enjoying that! I'm currently planning to do it for two weeks and…

Today is my light exercise day. A little stair work, a little body weight work, and a little stretching. I have puppy class tonight and a lot of work that needs to be done on the computer for my national breed club. Hope your back feels better, Sherry.

No app is needed if you don't want one. It's all written out on websites. There are also free apps and free webcasts

There already is an active C25k group with a lot of supportive people, both doing it and did it, there.

Yes! I'm in, too! Great news about Laura's half marathon!
-
So glad for you, Laura! You're going to do great that half marathon! Definitely a PR! Was tired all day today. I don't know why. So I did the exercise I planned, but felt like I was dragging. For example, last Thursday, when I was doing my stair exercise, I was running up the stairs for about 3 floors before I had to slow…

To add to Varda's advice: - Stretch after you're done - Ice after you're done, too, if you know where to ice I find with my knee that if I skip after run stretches for any length of time, the knee pain returns. Look on Runner's World http://www.runnersworld.com/tag/dynamic-stretching or just google stretching to find what…

Ran 5 miles today with brief walks, 1.2 miles running then 0.1 miles walking four times. Got up and out before breakfast which I really like to do as long as it's above freezing. Fells isn't as thrilled with running before he eats. He'd rather eat first, run and get treats as he runs, then eat again, but unfortunately for…

5 mile run this morning. I've gotten into the habit, with my Sunday run, to procrastinate about it all day until it gets to 3 or 4 pm and I realize that if I don't go now I'll have to run in the dark for no reason. So, this morning I woke up and said "let's just get it done, so that I don't feel like a slug all day". I…

Terrific! That's a great accomplishment! I started running as I lost weight, too. Yes, I hated it when I was younger, but I love it now.

7 miles ! in 20mph winds ! on a 3 degree ! day I'm so impressed! 3F has me cuddled under blankets on the sofa, not outside running.

Went swimming this morning. Actually meant to go to water aerobics, but the instructor today never pushes and so her classes work if I just want to work sore muscles. However, I was feeling energetic this morning and when I'm feeling like that, I find her class boring. So I just went into another lane and swam laps for an…

If I'm in the situation I think: 1) Am I interested/willing to do some other type of exercise than I originally planned. Would I rather do yoga at home then go to the gym? Would I rather just run outside? Would I rather strength train? If so, then I do that. Maybe something is bothering me just below the conscious level…

Ran 4.5 miles today with Fells. Plan to repeat that on Sunday. Tomorrow I have swimming in the morning, hiking/walking in the afternoon, and some strength training in the evening. All at an easy level. I love being able to move. Hope that you all enjoy the weekend!
-
Enjoy your rest day, Sherry! I went running today, just my usual course, I make it just a bit longer each time I run, so went 4.5 miles today. The good part was that it was 55F outside. The bad part was that it was raining. Fells and I went out and enjoyed the break from the cold cold temps. It really was good to get…

Sorry things were a bit chaotic for you this morning, Sherry, but glad that you got through the gym routine and meat day sounds good to me, too! Glad that you're back exercising, Maria! How did the Jason workout go, Laura? Today I had work, then water aerobics and got in a swim prior to the class start, and then a quick…

Romy, that's got to be so frustrating! Hope you get correct shoes as soon as possible! I've managed a steady stair routine over the past two weeks while I've been at work. I do a minimum of 2 reps of 5 flights twice a day, every work day. I've also started to "run" some of them rather than the fast walking. My goal will be…

Congratulations to all for the two runs, the trainer workout, and the medicine ball workout! Good going all! I had my metabolic conditioning class (aka circuit training) today. Enjoyed it! We're doing the same routine all of February, so I'm starting to get the hang of it. One more time, then it's March and a whole new…

Strength work is a great complement to the C25K program. It can be body weight training, weight machines, or heavy lifting, but it's something you really should do. As far as cardio, hiking/walking, biking, and swimming are great cross-training activities. Just have fun! And as far as fun, try some games; tennis, golf, or…

For quite a while I just did losses, because I was losing so quickly that I saw some sort of loss, even minimal every week, or two at the most. Now that I'm closer to my goal weight, I do similar to SugaryLynx. On my "official" weigh day, I record my weight on MFP only if it has gone down, but I weigh myself daily and…

Well after spending all day yesterday in the car and going 300 calories over, today I need to get back to my normal eating and exercise schedule. At a minimum, I'll get my stair workout at work done and try for some yoga tonight after teaching puppy class. Really nice run yesterday, Sherry! Hope you got to your workout,…

Up in the Montreal, QC area today, so treadmill running is my only choice. Ran 3 miles as fast as I could go with walking and/or rest intervals every 0.5 miles. When I say 3 miles, the walking wasn't counted among the 3 miles. Glad to see everyone up and running despite the winter weather!
-
If you haven't done so yet, I would post this in the long distance running group.
-
You definitely need to get a new roof, Laura! That sounds unpleasant and a bit dangerous. I'm planning to run 3 miles today. I'm doing interval training with as fast as I can run interspersed with walking. I did 1.5 miles total running (0.5 mile at a time) and 0.4 walking total (0.1 miles before, after, and between) the…

Today I drove to Canada. It took me about 11 hours. There's a lot of snow here. Rest day for me, though.
-
Last night and this morning, I got hit with a lot of heavy wet snow, about 12" total, and the a small amount of snow/sleet/rain continued and will continue until midnight. I went out three times to shovel out the driveway and sidewalk and finally got it to the point that people can walk by my house and I can get the…

Your nine day week sounds good, Sherry. I hope it works out for you! Glad you're feeling better, Laura. Hope today's trainer session goes well and you get your run in. tlatrice, Body Pump sounds great! Glad your toe is feeling a bit better, Maria, hope it continues to improve so that you don't have to see the doctor.
