Had a huge slip this weekend. Thursday I skipped going to class. Friday I just went off the rails. All I did exercisewise was to get my bike to a state that I can ride it again and added lights to the front and rear. I didn't actually ride it, or run, or do anything else. I also ate, a lot. Saturday was a bit better as far…

Yes, download a C25K app and just do it! I know it's scary at first, but once you get started it's not that bad. There's a pretty active C25K group on MFP too that you could join.

Good morning! Ready to start a new day! Didn't get any exercise in last night as I was beat by the time I got home. I am so glad sometimes that I do the expense of a pet sitter to come at noon. I had already worked 8 hours yesterday when I was called about a crisis that had to fixed immediately. It was a long day! The dogs…

Swimming is great. If you have access to a water aerobics class also, I would highly recommend it! It's a lot less impact but can really get you moving. It is terrific exercise when you have a lot of weight to lose.

I have no idea what the various weeks are with the zen labs 10K app. Some apps deliberately repeat the C25K so that they are an all inclusive C2-10K. Maybe your app does that too? The one I used. went straight from the C25K run 1/2 hour to the first week being a run/walk for an hour. I had difficulty with the 1/2 hour to 1…

I did a quick run this morning too. Just 2.5 miles for me and Fells though. He did a bit more because I let him chase some squirrels along the way. I never want to get up early enough to do a run, but really like it while doing it and for the rest of the day. This evening I might just take both dogs for a walk, or maybe do…

Have you tried using the super feet insoles? They were really useful for me for a while.

Sorry about the not being able to run today, Sherry. I know how it is when you finally have a tiny space of time for it, are ready to do it, and then the exercise is just not going to be possible. Very frustrating! Wow, Valma! That's some flooding! I heard from another friend, and saw pictures, that they had snow in…

Well I finished the half marathon! It wasn't fast. My official time was 3 hours 11 minutes and some seconds. It was hot! Really hot and humid and sunny! Sunday was not hot. Sunday was really nice, but Saturday was hot. The Amish community, who ran this half marathon, was really nice. They were well organized, had plenty of…

Thanks for the congratulations. Despite the heat I enjoyed the half. I really didn't feel like I was pushing myself at the time; felt like I had more in me, even at the end. But mentally I really was quite a bit out of it by the end of the race and really needed Sunday to recover. I just don't handle direct sun very well.…

Did my half marathon today. It was also the hottest day we've had all summer and many don't actually consider this summer, now. Hot, humid, and sunny; bright sun all day. I decided just to survive. My goals became 1) finish within the maximum time limit of the race 2) don't get sick or seriously dizzy 3) don't come in…

Not much to report this week. Didn't feel well Monday, didn't exercise. Ran to and from trainer workout on Tuesday. Planned rest day yesterday. Tonight I'm going to do some strength training, mainly core and arms, not too much. Then I'll run a bit tomorrow morning. Been staying within my calories for the last 3 or 4 days,…

You can do it! You are so much more ready than I was 6 months before. Actually morre than I am now, probably. Looking forward to reading about your success!

Congratulations!! Great job!!

Happy Birthday and Happy New Clothes Day! Smaller ones too! You are doing really well with both the strength training and the running!

Goals (starting the 2nd week of September).: 1) Attend at least two classes a week in addition to my trainer workout. Monday evening is yoga at work, so must get to a class at my fitness studio, too, or go swimming. 2) Get out on my bike!! 3) Run a minimum of three days a week 4) Starting losing weight again, at least back…

Happy Birthday, Sherry! Glad that you enjoyed the cake! Had a rough weekend. Flyball tournament on Saturday and Sunday. I really don't know how to judge the calories for it. I'm up and down, standing, then running short sprints, and hauling the flyball box in and out of the lane. Although the tournament is done indoors, it…

Morning Valma! Glad the fridge is fixed. Hope it is fixed! Rest day today for me. My legs are really happy about that! Hope everyone has a great day!

Everyone. Please look down the topics for days already posted with starters! We've been getting a lot of duplicates, especially in the past couple of weeks, because people aren't looking. We even had one where the same person posted both of the duplicates. :) Right now we're set to the end of the month. Thanks!

Welcome back, Sherry!! Welcome Jane!! Valma, I'd just arrange to get it fixed if he doesn't get it done today. Glad you got the sleep, April, you obviously needed it. Sorry about the running cut back, Laura. Hope the workout today went well. I had my trainer workout on Tuesday and it went pretty well. Then I ran 4 miles…

Valma, hope the fridge gets fixed as soon as possible. Good job with keeping with the healthy food! Good luck with the Pilates, April. I'm going to get my bike out on Monday, Laura. You have inspired me! Got the run to the trainer workout last night. This month is focused on core/abs work, although it's still full body,…

I would do the early Pilates class if there was a likely chance that you could get to it on time. Get there and get it over and you'll have the rest of the day free and it'll make a good start to the day. The dance class has the benefit that you could walk or run to it and it's just that slightly later, but not too late.…

I had a roommate in college that was this way. She wasn't hungry a good portion of the time, but was on the track team, and generally more active than most people. Her mother actually paid one of her sisters during one summer to make sure that she had a nutritious lunch each day between her two jobs. What worked for her…

Rest day today and unfortunately hungry! I've eaten 2/3 of my calories by noon. Hopefully I can keep it in control for the rest of the day.

Romy, hope the run went well today. Those of you trail running are making me feel a bit jealous. Maybe I'll try some trail running after the half on September 6th. That next weekend, September 13th, might be a really good time to try one. Did my last long run before my half marathon today. It was 12 miles. I didn't walk…

Did my last long run before my half marathon today. It was 12 miles. I didn't walk any of it, but I did take two breaks at the ranger station, both about 5 minutes. Since last Sunday's single break was for 15 minutes, I think that this is an improvement. I took the absolutely shortest route to the ranger station, so that…

Had a hard night last night. Didn't get to sleep until 2 am and was up and 3:30 am to take an ibuprofen tablet. Slept until 6:45 am when the dogs wanted outside and then their breakfast at their normal time. Woke again at 8:36 am and need to get ready and then run to my total body conditioning class which started at 9:10.…

Hope you're feeling better now, Laura. I got up and out, unfortunately later than I wanted to, but up and out anyway! Fells and I ran our 4 mile course, but cut some edges as I was so late and wanted to be able to get a shower and still get to work before people started looking for me. So it turned out to be about a 3 2/3…

The half marathon is September 6th. Last week ran 3 miles Tuesday w/trainer workout, 3 miles Thursday w/fitness class, 4 miles Friday, 3 miles Saturday w/fitness class, 11 miles Sunday This week ran 3 miles Tuesday, ... I'll get the 3 miles in tonight w/fitness class and Saturday (3 miles w/fitness class) and Sunday (12…

Stealing the daily Runner's World quote today. It's true of running and many other things. The swim party sounds like fun, Marla. Glad you got the run in, Laura. Nice goals, April. Saying that, I did nothing yesterday, other than the stairs. Didn't even go to bed early which was my rationalization for not going on a run…
