  • i have the dvd's and I also go to class. I have found that zumba class is MUCH more enjoyable then the CD's. In the long run, the CD's are probably cheaper, but to me the class is much more effective.
  • i never (ok never is probably not the word, but more likely hardly) eat my excer. calories back. I consume anywhere from 1000- 1200 calories a day. And it has worked for me. I never heard about eating your excer calories back until i joined this site. to me it seems contradictive- but that is just me. Ill prob get slammed…
  • i think most gained this weekend. i couldnt wait for this week to start. took my a few days, but i m now back to my friday weight. gained 6 lbs over the weekend, most likely as a result of sodium, but this morning, i am back down. hoorah!
  • gees, thanks. lol. but more seroiusly that really puts my carb eating into perspective. maybe my daily p & j sandwich isnt soo healthy after all....
  • I watch my sodium like I watch my fat. Occasionaly, I go over-- but I try to remain at a constant 1500 mg or lower. It get easier once you get the hang of it. But you do have to cut out what some consider "healthy foods". I have learned that mostly all soups are spiked with salt, therefore high in sodium. Anything frozen…

  • i went to sizzler yesterday and ate the buffet. now I know why I should never go back to a buffet again, ever! I didnt do terrible... i refrained from the chicken wings, pasta, mac and potato salad, and soda. But I did have a carnitas taco, about 10 chips of nachos, a grilled chicken breast, about 1/2 cup of rice pilaf, a…

  • I may get slammed for saying this, but I will say it anyways- at costco/ sams club, protein bars are a must! They are a good snack or meal replacement for when you just cannot eat. they will carry you over, and prevent you from feeling famished and wanting to eat everything in sight. I also like to get a box of baked chips.
  • love it when you said I end up picking at the food inside of the box. Thank you for your honesty. I do the same exact thing. What I do, and this may only work for me because I am a germ freak, I will eat half of my food, then I will stack another plate on top of my food, or a bowl, or whatever is on the table. And I always…
  • I am definatly not an expert. However, my personal observation is this.... whenever I eat a sodium packed meal (i.e. mexican food) the next few days I pay for it. Now it is nearly impossible to gain 3 lbs from a burrito, but what happens is because my body becomes so filled with sodium it retains a lot of water. It takes…
  • i know i am going to get mfp jumped for this, but I will say it anyways. I NEVER eat my excer. calories back. Okay, so on an occasional saturday when I go out to eat with the Fam, I may endulge a lil bit, but that is rare. 6 out of the 7 days a week I stay under my calorie goal- even if I burn 800 calories from my workout.…
  • i LOVE the over roasted chicken breast. I do the same-- split it between two meals. But ever since I started paying close attention to sodium, I have ex'ed out the chicken breast, and mostly every other sandwich at subway. So now I stick to the veggie delight- with extra veggies on flat bread. My order looks like this:…
  • Been trying to lose weight since Jan. 2. So it has took be a little over 3 and a half months to lose 52 lbs. And no I did not get gastric or any other surgery.
  • love this post. i made my own soup a few days ago too. so filling, yet not high in sodium, calories, etc.
  • I use it as a dip for my Baked Chips. Gives it a little more flavor, plus I have learned to trick my mind. I think i am splurging, when in fact it is only 35 calories. <3 it.
  • i love the part about finishing what you started.
  • Ok, first off let me say I never thought I would be able to run... AT ALL. Although I was active in high school ( i was a cheerleader, and dancer) running was just not my thing. Recently, I started working out in January. My sister in law is one of those crazy runners. I thought to myself, I want to run too. I have always…
  • look up c25k.com. That was one of my goals too. But at 258 lbs (when i started), i never thought I would be able too. HOWEVER, i can now run for 25 min straight. lets not get it twisted- not a sprint, but i can get all 212 lbs of me up on that treadmill and jog for 25 min straight. it is a great program. modify it to fit…
  • i just steam it, i dont put any other goodies while cooking. although the lemon juice, breading, cheese etc. sounds delish.
  • i had taco bell this weekend to, stayed under my calories and then decided I would have rather had something much better. the things that use to appeal to me, not longer do. i guess that is good news.
  • Blah blah blah about starvation mode. Me personally, I never eat my work out calories and always eat under1250 calories and I have lost 44lbs in 3 months. I work out every day and eat good healthy food. thats it and thats all.
  • i lost 44 lbs in 3 months. I dont know about 40 lbs in two months, but I think you can some pretty close. not that I am any sort of expert or anything.
  • 10 lbs in a month is no prob. I started out at 258, and I am down to 214 in 3 months. That a little more than 10 lbs a month. You can totally do it. I wish you LOTS of luck.
  • maybe you can get the maple glaze chicken, without the maple glaze. maybe you can ask to get the sauce on the side so u can really control how much sauce goes on... if you are ocd like me (?). :-} I always get a salad too, so I can have some veggies and I just put salsa on it instead of dressing and of course no croutons,…
  • what a great way to stay motivated. I wish you all the best of luck!
  • hope your 5k goes great. :-} never ran one, so i dont have any advice....
  • when i first started working out, I could barely run 60 seconds. I remember telling myself "you can do it". And last night I finished C25k Week 5- the dreaded 20 minute run. And I did it, I ran the whole stinkin' thing.
