This year, the neighborhood critters are very fat. We got a bird feeder. (no good deed goes unpunished) That attracted the squirrels, who take a bite out of every tomato, eggplant, squash and leave the rest. It wouldn't be so bad if they ate the whole thing but they just take a taste.

Earth, thanks for the link. I'm familiar with Dr Ludwig's books but not this one, I'm going to read it. This link gives his explanation: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2016/01/07/rethinking-weight-loss-and-the-reasons-were-always-hungry/

Google vegetarian life style-- there are tons of sites. Be careful though, there are a lot of loonies out there. If someone claims they have cured cancer or some other disease they are nuts. I'm vegan but I don't claim to be God. Also some really nice folks & info here:…

I am vegan, take a supplement & have never been deficient. Husband eats meat like crazy & was deficient. He now takes a supplement & is OK. I think I read that some people don't absorb b12 well from food & do need a supplement. You may be one of those folks--but the supplements work & it's an easy fix.

Lots of info on these 2 message boards: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/45-happy-herbivores & http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/46-team-vegan If you are low K because of warfarin I can tell you you can still eat vitamin K foods. You just need to be consistent. I have at least 2 high K foods every day &…

I recently saw a TV show about someone who had written a cook book with low cost recipes. Something like eating for $5 a day. I don't remember the title or author's name. What I found funny is the author had at least $300 worth of spices on her kitchen wall and I thought, she doesn't have a clue. What she & others like her…

My MFP calorie amount is 1200. My first few days on WW, I counted points & calories to compare & my 27 points equaled about 1200 calories. I ate about 3 fruits & at least 4 veggies a day. I went to WW because I have a friend who has lost close to 100lbs on it & I was impressed & decided to give it a go. But my comparison…

Has your friend had a blood test to confirm her cholesterol is too low? Just my thoroughly unscientific thought. I would start there & have a talk with her doc.

Actually going vegan for one day isn't such a bad idea. You might think it was awful and give it up. Or you might think it was pretty easy & good & try it for a second day. And that could be the beginning of a life long change. I think any diet requires some thought, you don't want to end up on the junk food vegan diet.

Do it yourself very carefully. Dummy that I am, I managed to partially tear a bicep--been months & still not 100%. Totally my fault, I tried to force a stretch & it would never have happened with an instructor.

I googled it & it' s got a list of side effects a mile long. Why not call the doc & ask for something else.

You don't want to take an iron supplement without a doctor's recommendation. Too much is not a good thing. Pedidiva is right you need to know the underlying cause which can be anything from blood loss to kidney disease etc. Feel Better!!!

Not the season, but if you have any outdoor space, plan for a small garden. Go to the library now to read up & by spring you'll be ready. There is nothing better than a home grown tomato & you can't beat the price.

Well, I'm not that great a tofu cook, but here's what works for me. Drain it, wrap in paper towels & put something heavy over it for about a half hour to get as much water out as you can. Some folks say freezing it improves the texture. I've marinated it in a little barbecue sauce & fried it in a non stick pan, just until…
