personally i love the stuff, esp with chives, but the pineapple one isn't bad and i've mixed it with chopped dried fruit or herbs myself before for a bit of flavour :)

Depends... I work off light TDEE because my job is ridiculously busy so my excercise varies. So I set my TDEE as light excercise but some weeks I do moderate to heavy excercise, so those weeks I don't stress if I end up eating some back.

I only have about 4kg to first goal but 9 to ultimate goal and I'm still eating TDEE - 20% and not eating back excercise calories. For me it works better to steadily eat the same amount, which is about 150 over BMR for me, and not eat excercise cals unless I've had a gigantic burn and am hungry or go over in special…

I was out of the habit but I drink 10 glasses a day easy now. I have a 3 glass bottle. I drink one glass while breakfast cooks, then one bottle over the morning, one over the afternoon and one in the evening. I often put lemon or lime or fresh mint in it, but another good one is herbal teabags like green or jasmine. It's…

when you said he was overweight I wasn't surprised... for me the most negative people (there are exceptions in both directions of course) have been overweight people who are unhappy and wish they were doing it but perhaps aren't ready... If he isn't ready to move on with you, then def put some space between you.

Oh and I'm on Eltroxin, 100 mcg Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, 200 mcg Monday, Thursday and Saturday. I tried the Goldshield Levothyroxine and it wasn't as good as this one is for me.

started taking it in late 2007. Lost 25 kg in about 2008 (it takes a bit of time to get the level right and your body to respond)/ Put the weight back on (largely not due to the thyroid, though it complicated it) and have lost 21kg this time around. Once your levels are stable, you should be okay, plus there are herbals…

i had the same thing the first two days of my hols, followed by 2-3 days of lower appetite. I put it down to being on holiday and my body kinda catching up with itself.

That's fine, if people haven't heard that then it's not as big an issue as I thought, which is a good thing. I've heard and read it a LOT and it pisses me off, and I (obviously incorrectly) figured other people would get it. Actually, not totally incorrectly, as others in here HAVE got it, but still. People have…

most of this missed what I was on about which is why I'm largely leaving it alone but I just had to clarify: I'm NOT defending or explaining VLCD. I'm questioning an assumption that I have read repeatedly on here that the only way to get fat is to eat a lot of food, and the result of people being attacked when they switch…

Pretty much....

What's utterly hilarious is that I threw this up, thinking to come back to it, then went off to do something and came back to this..... I LOVE where this has gone and the responses on it. Cracks me up. Knew it would be controversial and well done to the people who actually got it, I thought it was clearer than it perhaps…

I'm so sick of seeing this 'logic' splashed over the boards. I ate less when I was big than I do now. I just ate different, more calorific food. When people say they are struggling to get to calories it's often because they are genuine about doing this and they have restricted themselves to lean meat, veges, and not much…

i'm exhausted so this may or may not make sense. There are two numbers generated. BMR is the number you must eat over. This is the basic number of calories your particular body needs to function at the absolute minimum level. TDEE is the number you must eat under to lose weight. This is the combined amount of energy you…

I do TDEE - 20% because my burns vary from 100-1500+ calories depending, and as I'm hypothyroid my metabolism is unstable and I don't want my intake to veer up and down like that. So I eat an even amount daily and create my deficit with burning calories rather than with eating a lot less food. That way I have more energy…

http://thefitgirls.com/tdee-calculator.aspx total daily energy expenditure. IE how much you're burning in a typical day, including exercise.
-
no idea for body building... I eat TDEE - about 20% so I eat about 1800;
-
fair enough, but if so, why stress about the calculators? It's all trial and error anyway
-
are you putting in exactly the same info every time?
-
its allllll about the numbers :) keep your water up too x good luck!

Yep def shoot for dips, full fat dairy, oil in stirfries and pasta etc.... it adds up

I use http://thefitgirls.com/tdee-calculator.aspx

depends if you're doing the MFP default or TDEE - %. I'm doing TDEE - 20% and I don't eat mine back 95% of the time.
-
if i'm bumping up to calories I use cheese (mmmm cheeeeeeeeese), avocado, full fat yoghurt, sunflower seeds in my salads etc, crackers and dip...basically if you need more calories, eat more food! :)

in japan the phrase that is similar translates to 'the nail that sticks out the most gets hammered in the hardest'...same kinda deal. if you're not doing the same as everyone else, and that makes them look bad, they try and bring you down....

Thanks! Clearly my extra glass of wine made me eloquent :P

yep. Usually it's because your healthy lifestyle and success make others feel inferior and guilty and bad. That is NOT your fault, it's their choice to not control their reaction. Rise above, recognise it for what it is, and keep doing the amazing work your are doing. Well done for learning to enjoy both your treat AND…

I used to starve myself intentionally because it made me feel in control. Now I feel in control of my diet because I have a calorie TARGET not a calorie LIMIT. So my goal is to do my best to hit that target, and a 'perfect' day is now hitting it bang on. It's about resetting the way you think. You can do it - if I could,…

oh and also i hate breakfast but i make myself eat it and it seems to give me more energy....
