Before starting Insanity I was doing 3 days a week of lifting and 3 days of cardio. I'll probably continue with that, but I need to decide on a new strength training program. And I'm going to cut back on the cardio a bit, probably HIIT for 30 minutes 3x a week instead of what I was doing previously (40-50 minutes, but…

Thanks! I made a thread about it, pics are here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/710837-last-day-of-insanity-my-results

I didn't care for it when I first tried it, but now I LOVE it. I eat it every single day. And I rarely eat peanut butter anymore. Give it another chance!

I became a vegetarian four years ago. It was for ethical reasons. I never liked meat in the first place so it hasn't been difficult for me. I guess the major health benefit for me was that it opened my eyes to lots of new ways to incorporate fruits and vegetables into my diet. I eat a much greater variety of foods now than…

The best thing to do is get a heart rate monitor.

Quite a few! Kale, collard greens, tempeh, seitan, almond butter, chia seeds, flaxseed, edamame, almond milk, Luna bars, Larabars, green tea, Ezekial bread, dates, prunes, coconut milk yogurt.

I just finished today! And I just posted this picture in another thread so I feel like I'm spamming lol but here ya go. I lost 12 lbs and 8 inches. I followed the program exactly as it's laid out on the calender, so I did it for 9 straight weeks. I didn't change my diet too much. I did calculate my calorie needs based on…

You can purchase it from Beachbody, or just find/download the videos online.

I'm 5'7!

I used the Harris-Benedict equation (which is given in the nutrition plan) to calculate my calorie needs. But I didn't follow their plan aside from that. Also I don't really count calories, I just estimate and keep a running total in my head.

Yeah it's definitely important. Your muscles need time to recover and repair themselves :)

11 in the morning and I've got a pizza craving.... darn it!

For the first three weeks, I worked out in the afternoon. But my work schedule changed, so for the rest of the time I did it in the morning (around 5:30am).

I just finished Insanity and I like the home workout thing, so someone recommended Tapout to try next.... well, don't think I'll be trying it now lol. Thanks for the very in depth comparison!

Well I'm vegan so I can't eat pop-tarts. But I never liked them anyway... mainly because they taste disgusting and fake! :P I don't understand people's obsession with them.

I'm hoping to be at my goal weight by Halloween but I think I'm going as a stormtrooper lol. Sexy costumes aren't my thing. Good luck to everyone though!

I would not be interested in dating someone who didn't care about their health and fitness. That's a huge part of my life. I could see the time devoted to maintaining/bettering my health becoming an annoyance to the other person.

The problem here on MFP is that I think the vast majority of people who post here DO assume that starvation and starvation mode are one and the same. It's just a very broadly misunderstood topic. People will post and say "well I eat 1000 calories a day and I'm losing weight, so starvation mode is a lie." To them,…

Do you have your activity level set to sedentary?> if so, eat back the exercise calories. Do you have your activity level set to something higher?> don't log the exercise calories, and don't eat them back.
-
Well, that's more than enough TIME to spend on cardiovascular activity. But I would try to do something a little more high intensity to get your heart rate going. Unless you are not physically able to do anything more strenuous.

Love my Buckeyes!

I would recommend using a pre-made routine designed by a fitness professional. The combination of lifts you do and the order you do them is pretty important. Focusing on one group of muscles at a time is best. I would also recommend a book like New Rules of Lifting for Women, or the Women's Health Big Book of exercises.

Great story! Lifting has made major differences in my body too.

You're looking great! Awesome work.

Tomorrow is my last fit test :O I'll post some updated progress pictures then!

You would need to know your body fat percentage from before you started losing weight, as well as after your weight loss.

I eat dark chocolate every single day! :)

Keep forgetting to post here but my record for August is 17-0 -- I'm winning :)

I have them in my oatmeal. Or freeze them for future use in baked goods.
