  • Awesome! You both look so much younger! Great great job!
  • I never realized how prominent your tendons can be - my biceps, hamstrings and achille's tendons are actually "hard" to the touch! Who knew? Also, never thought I would become such a fan of clothes shopping! I just love it, both at charity and retail shops. I used to hate clothes shopping, now I love fitting new clothes…
  • Amazing job my dear sis! - And haha at facebook not recognizing you!
  • Love this thread! ~90Kg (2012-2015) Current (63Kg)
  • Decided to update as I've finally reached 140 pounds! So close to my goal of 60Kg! These last few kg's are definitely the most difficult to shed, but I have been enjoying the process. The amount of people commenting on my weightloss have been staggering. I loved seeing an old friend from uni a while back. Just seeing her…
  • Thanks @Maxematics I'm installing a P tracker as I type this, think it will give some good data that my normal circle on my calendar doesn't quite give  I thought I had given this part of weight loss a skip, but if things continue like this month, that is definitely not the case...
  • Thanks for all the encouraging words everyone! It's great to be on a journey that you know millions of others are also taking and sharing your successes along the way! Good luck to each of you just now starting on/returning to the journey! It's a fun ride!
  • My dream body is somewhere between Adrianne Palicki (but quite a bit shorter) and Katee Sackhoff I have bigger hips than Adrianne, but don't think I'll quite manage as muscular legs as Katee has... '
  • Awesome job!
  • Clean plate at our home as well. Very, very large portion sizes. We ate mostly healthy foods, especially at dinner. Ex. Dinner would be chicken, brocolli, carrots and rice. But the portion sizes would be massive. I could never understand why my friends ate soooo little when I had sleepovers at their places. Now looking…
  • [quote/] You have an adorable smile : ) great loss! You look awesome[/quote] Thank you so much! Really appreciate the compliment <3
  • Decided to update this thread today as I've been stuck at my current weight (142-144 lbs) for a few weeks, so needed to see the progress to remind myself how far I've come. It's Winter on this side of the globe, and I have always loved my Winter comfort foods, so am finding it slightly more difficult to stay within my…
  • Actually started 1 Jan. But only have comparison pics from March. The ones on the right was taken today. 50 pounds down. About 10 to go...
  • On the first point, I have learned that our local hospice/charity shops are my friend. You get clothes that look brand new/rarely worn at a 10th the price of new clothes. On the second, I don't mind much when it is somebody I haven't seen in a year that makes such comments - as I realize the change is quite big, but I have…
  • I must say, I haven't noticed too much vanity sizing here in South Africa, but when you buy branded clothes from the States it is a doozy! I currently fit nicely in Medium shirts (South African); But had to buy an extra small shirt a month ago, because it was made in the States - and it is getting too big at present...…
  • I have to agree with those bemoaning how cold you would feel. Our Winter is just starting this side, and I'm already forced to wear much thicker clothing/jackets than previous years. How difficult it becomes to accept compliments How warped your own perception of your body is - my middle sister has always been the smallest…
  • Thank you everybody for the replies. I truly appreciate the kind words. No problems, I completely forgot to add my height to the stats, I am 1.68 meters (5'5) tall. Have a great weekend all!
  • SW 192 pounds. US size 10/12 CW 155 pounds. US size 8 Would love to go down to a South African size 32. UK 6. US 2. But would be happy with 34/8/4...
  • Firstly thanks for all the replies. I really appreciate each and every comment. I'm not very active in replies(mostly due to work commitments) and I started this journey mostly as a way for myself to keep track of progress, etc. I haven't lost a lot of weight since my last update (only 1.6Kg - currently at 71.2 Kg) but I…
  • I agree with the consensus that BMI is a fairly accurate representation of a person's general health/level of obesity. I know that when my BMI was 31 it was because I was overweight/obese. And although my BMI is currently 25.2 (sooooo close), when I look in the mirror I know I am still overweight and have another 10 to 12…

  • I usually log a whisky or brandy in the morning as an "in case" during the week so that I know it'll fit into my day. I remove it at night if I didn't consume it. Weekends I log 3 drinks per day, and again remove as needed. It's pretty rare that I would go over those limits, but when I do, I log it and go on with my life...
  • I felt I needed to update the journal today as I hit a success of sorts today. For the first time in my life I ran 20 minutes (without needing to walk) on the treadmill this morning. I ran 3.4 Km in 25 minutes (2.5 mins warmup and 2.5 mins cooldown), and the best part was that I felt I could still go on for a while, but…

  • What fitbit are you using? Due to this post (thanks Tammy!) I finally conquered my fear yesterday morning and got on the stair climber. My fitbit charge hr added both steps and floors. I did not hold on to the railings, so that could have been a difference...
  • If you think in the truck is bad, you should definitely not try on a motorcycle. Mine have added over 1500 steps for a 20 minute ride. And doesn't matter if you put it in a jacket pocket or in a backpack, the steps still add up  I had to start placing my fitbit in a portable charger to keep it from adding steps.
  • Loved this. I just started visiting the gym about two weeks ago, and am scared ****less of that stair climber. I finally got over my fear of the rower and did a full 15 minutes on it this morning  Now to get all cocky and try the stair climber from hell on my next visit
  • Today I bought an above-knee cocktail dress to wear to a function tomorrow. Having been embarrassed by my body, and especially my lower legs for most of my life, this was a huge achievement for me. I'm still not close to satisfied with my legs, but the self-confidence is definitely improving!
