  • LW - 79.6 Kg CW - 78.9 Kg Loss - 0.7 Kg Percentage lost - 0.88% Not as good as last week, but still very happy at the loss :)
  • You all are so inspiring! I had a terrible week personally which rubbed off on both my diet and exercise plan :( Luckily it didn't translate on the scale, but it just made me feel more miserable, knowing that I was sabotaging my own efforts! Luckily most of that is now sorted, and the resolution is firm once more, so the…
  • SW- 180 W1- 176.5 W2- 174 6 pounds loss, yay!!! (But TOM is on the way, hoping it won't cause a "gain" before Valentines :()
  • It's been a bit of a flip-flop month (losing one week, gaining a little bit the next), but I started on Jan 1 on 84kg and as of this morning I weighed 78.8kg - so that is a loss of 5.2kg - approximately 11.5 pounds. I'm very happy! :D
  • This week is not off to the best start, will probably end the day on a 100 calories over goal and NO exercise today (hectic schedule that left no time to breathe let alone run). But, I plan to join the gym close to my work tomorrow which should make getting the requisite exercise in, a lot easier :) Hope you all have a…
  • Weight as of today: 79.6kg (175.5 pounds) Height: 1.675m (5 foot 6)
  • Wow! Thanks Monique! And big congrats to everyone who took part this week! We saw some great losses :)
  • Great work all! And @red128, seeing it as "not a gain" is the best way to look at it. Our bodies are very interesting machines and I've been surprised at the ways the scale has fluctuated over the past month, however as long as the general trend stays on a downward path, you've got to be doing something right ;)
  • Original Weight - 81.7 Kg(180.1 pounds) (Monday 28 Jan 2013) Current Weight - 79.6 Kg (175.5)(Sunday morning 3 Feb 2013) Kg lost - 2.1 Pounds lost - 4.6 Percentage loss - 2.57% Can hardly believe it! But results were slightly skewed due to female body functions last week (had showed a .2 kg gain last week).
  • Sorry for the late checkin. SW 180 CW 176.5 Loss - 3.5 YAY!
  • Great work Rebekah! That's a brilliant step in the right direction! I've decided to never bring cash along to work, as the Cafeteria is way too tempting to resist! Been feeling slightly fatigued the past few days, checked my BP last night and it was extremely low (96/47), which may explain why I've been struggling to give…
  • Hey monique! Hope it's ok to join in here today! Need the challenge after the scale showed a gain this morning :( Weigh in as of this morning: 81.8Kg (180.34 pounds) Height: 1.675m (5'6'') Hoping to be able to show some loss this week ;)
  • Definitely check your shoes. Did you get them fit at a running store? Also check your ITB and TFL, make sure to stretch them very well after each run, they are very often the culprits in hip pain with running.
  • I try to go for a trail run 5 days per week in the mornings (20-35 minutes depending on the route I take), I go mountain biking 3-4 times per week in the afternoons (depending on the rain) and then try to go on an hour+ hike at least once per week. Also try to do some form of weight training 3x per week (mostly just body…
  • Hi I'm Alta from South Africa. Love short term goals like this. Losing the 6 pounds will put me under 80Kg, a place I haven't been in a loooooong time, so definitely looking forward to this challenge!
  • Starting weight is 180 pounds, would love to be at 170 by Valentines, but 174 won't be anything to sneeze at either!
  • Hi all, I'm Alta, I'm from South Africa. I'm looking to lose around the 50 pound mark. I've always been the fat kid, since primary school, I've always felt like the odd one out. Then after school worked for an IT company before deciding my true passion was working with people. Thus I graduated last year with a Bachelor's…
  • From what I've seen MFP gives the 1200 recommendation for almost all women who wants to lose 2 pounds per week and who is sedentary (just depending on their starting weight). As you have probably read, this is way to little calories (probably below your BMR. Search the forum for the thread "in place of a roadmap". All the…
  • WOW! Absolutely stunning! We're the same height, can't wait for the day I hit 150 again!!!
  • In and done!
  • WOW!!! That's an absolutely stunning transformation girl!!!
  • Fochville, Gauteng, South Africa
  • Great going everyone! I am proud of myself for jogging 25 minutes this morning without needing to walk at all! This is after struggling to run for more than one minute at a time just three weeks ago!
  • Urgh, Used to eat half a slab chocolate every night just before sleeping. And the usual suspects - Zinger, chips and coke at kfc at least once a week, pizza every Friday, looking back I can't believe I didn't add more weight!
  • That's what I always thought (especially over longer distances) which is why I found this abstract quite interesting - and slightly contradictory to general beliefs. But I guess, as others have pointed out, they do specify sprints, which may mean it could be good for short distances but not for longer endurance type…
  • Hi there, I also have chronic hypotension (normal bp is usually between 85 and 95 over 50-55). I usually measure my bp after any new exercise, to see what kind of effect it has (have seen strength training tends to lower my bp the most - was 75 over 45 the other night after an easy routine (stopped strength for now - will…
  • Yip, up at 5, out runnning/cycling at 5:15. This will change in winter (sun only up after 6) but for now, I love it! So much energy the rest of the day!
  • As the others have said, you are an absolute inspiration! You look awesome!!!
  • Absolutely stunning work! And to consider you did it whilst constantly fighting the struggle with CF, truly inspirational! Friend request on the way...
  • Thank you all for taking the time to reply. I really appreciate the information given! I should probably have phrased the question slightly different, should have asked if it will help to build muscles, rather than specifically mentioning strength training. But it seems general consensus agrees that higher gears, higher…
