  • I have no problem with the ads whatsoever. But it's the robo-pong that seems rather silly to me. The ads I ignore, And I'm glad they are here to help support MFP. But would anyone spend $1k to buy robo-pong? Is table tennis making a huge comeback? I don't know anyone who has one in their house. But maybe it's just me.
  • But it seems like everywhere I turn around town, they're selling ping pong balls. I some some at the grocery store yesterday. My 7-11 has a whole supply of them. Is there a new fad of playing ping pong?
  • It's still your husband's fault. It's the Vulcan mind meld he has over you. He's just so damned good you don't even know it.
  • I'm all in for the spankings so anyone can add me. There's a reason my favorite song to train to, and favorite song to perform at karaoke is Rihanna's S&M. It's what some of us gay boys do best. :)
  • Make the extra time and eat oatmeal. It's the best thing in the world for breakfast. A slow burning carb that will fuel you for hours. Low in calories, low in fat. There is a reason why oatmeal has been in the diet of every competitive body builder for generations. And there is a reason why oats are recommended for heart…
  • I hate to tell you this Abram, but LOOK AT YOUR OWN PICS. They're incredible. You are kicking *kitten* and taking names. You are the inspiration for others. Be the role model you are meant to be. Kick the hell out of those last 15 pounds the way I know you can do it. It doesn't stand a chance. Ice cubes in hell have a…
  • First, you have taken a big step in being here and I'm glad to be your friend. I'd like to help anyway I can. I know everyone wants to lose weight fast, but I look at it this way: it didn't get on fast, so it sure isn't going to come off fast. Slow and steady won the race for the tortoise and it will win it for you too.…
  • Part of it I guess is the ravages of time too. 57 year olds metabolisms are slower than 25 or 35 year olds. Mother nature does win out in the end.
  • Doing great Abram. Keep it going. And now you've got Mom joined in too. WTG. And one more pound, and you will have lost an Elephant Penis. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Consistently eating under 1200 calories is simply a bad idea. I'm sorry but it is. For some reason, that seems to be about the cutoff where your body will start to slow your metabolism which is the last thing you want or need. An occasional dip below it is no problem. But doing it consistently? Constantly at 1000, 900 or…
  • Very proud of you Christy and proud to count you among my friends. Keep it going and you'll do great in the race.
  • False -- barely got into the 70s here. TNP is going swimming this weekend.
  • Happy Birthday SS
  • And all I was saying was you made it all sound so simple, so easy. No problems. Life looks simple and easy when you are 21 as you are. I used to think like that when I was your age. But when you are my age you know it isn't. There is no one way to lose weight. No one diet plan for everyone. No one exercise plan for…
  • Funny CapnGordo. Thanks for the chuckle.
  • Ah, the arrogance of youth having all the answers. Like we haven't seen this many times before. Like we weren't in your shoes many years ago when we were the ones with all the answers. And in 30-40 years when you in our shoes and you know you won't have all the answers. Time is the great equalizer. We've seen this play…
  • Sorry for the duplicate.
  • I have no idea what this post is even about, but I'll bite. You expect to lose 4 pounds in 3 days? You're 181 today (8/15) and expect to be 177 on Sunday (8/18)? Really? You've eaten next to nothing today. A protein bar, 2 fruit snacks, some spinach, grape tomatoes and fat free dressing. What, maybe 200-300 calories total?…
  • Briana -- I don't think you are going to like what I am going to have to say. But you are not in any way shape or form fat. At at 177cm 84 kg, you never were. At that measurement, you were ate a 24.9 BMI, which is within the normal range of weight. Not even overweight and most certainly not obese. You currently are at a…
  • That was funny. I bet their/there/they're still trying to figure out what "you're" talking about.
  • Exactly right Littlebee. There is no one way to lose weight or lose bf. What works for one will not work for another. And that is the point that Lyle was making in the article referenced:…
  • That is taking what he said totally out of context.
  • The book is 300+ pages and explains EVERYTHING you want to know about the 3 types of keto diets: standard, targeted and cyclical. Everything and then some. It is availble for download online. It is dense reading and takes time. But I think it is almost mandatory before diving into any type of keto diet.
  • I'm on the last full day of a 4 week cyclical ketogenic diet, which sounds more like what you are looking for rather than going on the standard ketogenic diet some others here are on. I will tell you I took at least a month or more to plan every step of it along the way. For CKD to work, you have to be very strict on what…
  • Yes you can. I'm proof you can. I may be the biggest diet soda addict on here, and I've done fine. I will normally drink 3-4 double gulps of diet coke/diet pepsi a day.at a minimum. Which works out to a least a 12-pack a day. And I've had that much to drink almost everyday for decades. I haven't grown a third leg (well I…
  • OK, I've just been blown away. I watched the video. I went out and got the digital scale I was planning on (I'd been using an old analog one that was more approximation than anything). And did the oatmeal test. I usually have 1/2 cup of oatmeal a day which is supposed to be 150 calories. That is based though on 40g. A full…
  • It's water weight. It has to be. No other explanation makes sense. Weigh yourself every day or intra-day ONLY if you can handle the ups and downs that come with the vaguaries of the scale and the body. I was 163 Friday mid-day. This morning I was 153.5. Think I lost 9.5 pounds in 5 days? Water, sure. I've lost 2.5 pounds…
  • I hate to say this, but it is possible that your metabolism has already gone into starvation mode. Some studies have suggested that it can take months or years to recover from this. If you get checked by a doctor and get cleared of any possible underlying medical issues, which is an absolute must, I think you need to…
  • Well I'm 57. I had both hips replaced 9 years ago and had my right knee replaced last September. All my weight loss has been post knee-replacement rehab. So if you want to add someone who's been through those wars, go ahead and add me. I'd love to add more Aussie friends to the incredible Aussie friends I have now.
