I don't think what you eat for breakfast really matters when it comes to your initial question. Choose one day and log all your food from the moment you wake up and the time you go to sleep on that day. When you wake up again, that starts the next day. e.g. I don't work night shift but my bf does, so lately I've been…

You don't know what everyone is thinking. Frankly, when I see people out running - no matter their weight - I think either a) hey, good for you or b) ignore them completely. IF anyone thinks poorly of you for trying to improve yourself, they must live a sad, sad life. Can you try running somewhere else with more…

I forgot mine yesterday too! Almost made it feel like all my steps at work were not worth it, hah.

Woohoo! Stick with it. I definitely agree about the mental aspect. One thing that helped me was to listen to podcasts instead of music. I noticed I would kinda mentally calculate how long songs were, etc. to estimate how much time I had been running/had left to run, which just messed with my head. Podcasts are longer so I…

Take a deep breath and move on! Perhaps make a mental note to eat a bit lighter tomorrow or go for a long walk to help combat the extra calories. Basically, logic > emotions. Tell yourself it's okay to make mistakes and try to do better.

I'm a teacher and I also do retail and everyone at the store raves about Skechers GoWalk. I don't have them but I've had other Skechers w/ memory foam and they save me from limping and aching at the end of the day haha

What I usually do is order a pizza with no cheese, extra sauce, and add tons of veggies. Since it usually costs a lot to add all the extra veggies I want (i.e. bringing the pizza from $7 to like $15+), I usually choose a couple and then add a bunch more at home. Diced frozen peppers, onions, broccoli, etc. Pop it back in…

Now this statement just makes me sad. IMO the most important part of these gatherings is friendship and enjoying the company. Yes, sometimes it's awkward when I can't eat what everyone else is eating, but I'd rather go and bring something to share, or eat beforehand, than miss out on the fun.

Ah, okay, I see the confusion here. It seems you're thinking based on the assumption that they won't want *ANY* of the vegan food and thus wouldn't have anything to eat, and would have to bring a whole meal for themselves. I was thinking based on the assumption that there might be one side dish they don't like, or would…

I'm really not trying to pick a fight or anything 8)...but I don't understand this logic. If the host is a vegan, why would the food they cook not be vegan, too? I, as a vegetarian/wannabe vegan, expect omni hosts to make omni food when I go to their place for dinner...thus bring my own dish or eat a big meal beforehand so…

I was obsessed with Chipotle, which wasn't very friendly on my wallet, so I started making my own "copycat" burrito bowls at home. Not 100% exactly the same, but close enough to satisfy my cravings. They're a lot cheaper and, as one person mentioned, you can know exactly how many grams of each ingredient you get so you can…

I've been having this issue all day. I disconnected and reconnected FitBit and it fixed it...for now. 8)

I'm going to assume you are talking about "close" to a serving size? Things like lettuce or broccoli I'll guesstimate, but most things I'm more careful. I also generally just log things by their weight, not necessarily following their serving sizes. E.g. if a serving of shredded cheese is 28g, but I grab 30g, I'm not going…

I *would* rather ... Sometimes I correct people if it's a glaringly obvious error, but I usually don't. I'm an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher so correcting people on the internet too often begins to feel like work for me!

Age: 25 Height: 5'6" SW: 136 CW: 130-131 GW: 120-125ish My goal weight is mostly vanity pounds (I weighed 120 last summer). I started weight lifting (NROLFW) two weeks ago, so mainly I'm trying to reduce body fat and lose inches and am OK if I don't drop the scale weight. If we sound like twins or have similar goals, feel…

I'm not trying to be harsh here, but you need to stop apologizing for being you and stop worrying so much about what other people think about you. Maybe (usually) the reason they deleted you has NOTHING to do with you! You have no idea why they deleted you - maybe you didn't interact much and they didn't feel like they…

No lipo. For someone at a healthy weight, you need to focus on lifting heavy weights in order to change your body composition.

I don't think it's quite fair to say you "can't" meet the required amount as a pescatarian, more likely "won't" or "can't really-super-easily". I'm a vegetarian (no meat, no fish) and I'm at 102 grams of protein for today. I, however, do eat meat replacements (i.e. use veggie ground beef in chili, tacos, etc.) so if you…

You should be able to enter your own calories for walking if you enter the exercise on MFP. When you do that, it asks for start time and duration...entering those should cancel out the calories (and maybe steps?) you earned from the FitBit, so you don't double up.

I know what you mean. Last summer I spent 5 weeks in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand and came home to the USA with seemingly a different perspective on life. Unfortunately, real life got back in my way and my new perspective faded a bit :/ I second the meditation idea. I'm trying something similar and it's definitely a…

Beat out laziness. Had a stressful morning at work so I wanted to come home and just nap, actually justified it on the drive home ("I'll lift later, I'll be more awake then, etc.") but instead went straight to lifting when I got home, then took a walk in the evening...so no nap hopefully means a good night's sleep!

I wouldn't say they're rude, it's just that Americans are so exceptionally friendly that we tend to misinterpret their behaviour as "rude." First, let me preface this by saying I'm an ESL teacher and have students from all over the world (although primarily from Asia and the Middle East). Almost *all* of them have told me,…

Slightly nuts! :P At 5'6" and 120 lbs I ate at least 1800+ calories to maintain. At your weight you can probably eat at *least* that and still lose. Remember, whatever you do should be sustainable. Do you want to eat 1200 calories forever? Doubtful!!

Sleep Cycle alarm clock for iPhones. Best I've seen/used.

I'm guessing they want the ice cream now, and can't run out to buy some, but have ice cream sandwiches. I'd log it as 3/4 of a serving (75 cals) just to be on the safe side. Odds are the wafers are a little more than 25 calories but I'd err on the side of caution.
-
Honestly, I'd say eat what you want (within reason) for three days and don't worry about whether you should or shouldn't add an extra hundred calories or so. Any weight you gain (or lose) is negligible in the grand scheme of things.

I buy this brand: http://www.maplegrove.com/products/dressings Their sugar free raspberry vinaigrette is only 5 calories per serving. YUM! There are lots of kinds, though, so perhaps you can find something you'd enjoy.

You can't strictly rely on 1 cup of a cereal weighing the same as 1 cup of a different cereal. They're different sized etc. Cups are units of volume, grams are units of mass. Read the label to see how many grams = one serving of that particular cereal, then do some simple math and enter that. For example, if my cereal says…

I know everyone is different, but to give you a comparison, before I packed on a few winter/lazy pounds I ranged from 118-121 (I'm also 5'6") and I usually ate around 1700-2000 calories a day. My main form of exercise was walking (trying to get 10,000 steps a day on my FitBit). So if you're doing such intense exercise,…
