I prefer two meals a day. I eat a late breakfast and early dinner (10:00AM and 4:30PM-ish). No snacks. I'm never hungry at dinner time, but I know that if I don't eat then, I will be within the hour. For me too, coffee is my friend. I probably had 6 mugs yesterday - all with heavy whipping cream. Not only does it give me a…

Any sugar free sweetner works. But coffee without heavy whipping cream? For me,that would be so sad! :-)

Would you explain the details?

1200 is where I feel comfortable. I have to force myself to eat that much and have to exercise to accomplish that! I don't pay attention to MFP's recommendations. I don't understand them. They surely don't work for me.

THANK YOU NATALIE!!!!! I too gain weight at 1500 cals (with no exercise). I gain weight at 25 carbs a day. I am under a doctor's supervision. Those people who try to subterfuge me are excessive at MFP. Some are downright abusive in their tactics. Thank goodness for those helpful ones who are not so judgmental - who ask…

I tried to walk in that direction two weeks ago. (I eat eggs and don't see any reason not to). But my weight instantly jumped and I didn't feel as good. Always full. That's not a nice feeling. I think that some bodies do well on Vegan. Others, like mine, seem to be made for eating meat. Perhaps it's in our DNA

I was amazed at how logging everything - honestly - made a difference. By comparison, I feel like I wasted the first two weeks of my diet. I have learned so much about my body through this process. It doesn't even take self-discipline for me any more. It's become a habit.

I would suggest that you stop setting yourself up for failure. Begin within your ability and grow it up from there. If you take on more than you are able to take on, your body will let you know it. I remember when I started exercising, and day two, my thighs felt like they weighed 200 pounds - each - but I went back at it.…

I just go to bed. I don't care if it's 6:30. I watch TV and tell myself that the day's over. I keep a water bottle by my bed and sometimes refill it. Sometimes I read or crochet. (I don't have young ones to take care of - obviously)

I hit a plateau when I faced a super-stressful time. Did that ever add to the stress. But when the stress became manageable again (about 10 days later) the weight started falling off again. I don't know if there is a tested relationship between stress and weight loss, but even if there isn't, I assume that there is one.…

Thanks! I just went to my log to total my water intake over the past few days and I'm WAY below my requirements, and have been since I started feeling full all the time. I'm upping it immediately. (And to hint at the unseemly side of things, all that food must still be in my digestive tract because I haven't eliminated it…

I am already working on them. For me, it's about being a more ideal me, so I am meditating and practicing my manifesting techniques so that when my weight is at its ideal, life will simply carry on in a much finer direction. I'm afraid that if I call my new-life-plan "finished", I will be. But travel is always a good one.…

I know you have heard much about check out your footwear, and that helped me a lot. But I also stay with low-impact exercise because I know how much knee and back pain hurt and I was concerned with joint damage when I nearly threw my knee out when doing something I shouldn't have been doing at my weight. When I began, I…

I used to do the 1-2-3 mile version. I would track it according to how many miles. The warm-up is probably about 2 mph but when you really get into it, it's much higher - probably more like 3.5. I can't remember and my VHS tape died a long time ago. You can measure it though. If you go back and watch the introduction…

Timex. It's very basic (as it's $30.00 price tag suggests). I don't plug my personal information into it. It gives me a running heart rate, and at the end of an exercise session, I can see average heart rate, maximum heart rate, and time elapsed. I've been learning a lot about my body though. I was suprised with how simple…

I'm 62 and though my exercise has only been ongoing to 8 weeks, my resting is 66. Sounds crazy to me too. Perhaps the elevated rate is why meditation is more difficult than it was. (I'm working on getting that back to normal as well)

I use shakes in order to keep my protein high enough - not to create a calorie deficit. Not Herbalife shakes, but shakes none-the-less. I find it difficult to eat as much as it takes to achieve minimum protein. Shakes are a delicious treat and a healthy boost. What works for you doesn't work for me. Something else that…

I remember being a "me" that I loved and respected. My life was vividly real. The weight that I have slowly gained in the last 15 years has numbed me to life itself. I have become numb to more than just tastes and sounds and muscles, etc. I have become numb to the joys that life is supposed to be. My life is limited…

Breakfast = 2-3 egg scramble or omelet fried in butter - with a really REALLY good cheese - not the cheap stuff in the dairy case. 2 cups of coffee lightened with heavy whipping cream I don't limit myself to two. If I want 3 or more I go for it. But 2 is my usual number. Lunch - meat left over from last night - as much as…

Been ketogenic since mid-November. No flu shot. No flu.

Good heavens, NO! I don't like health food. Yuk! I'm a carnivore - pure and simple. I can force down a salad if it 's just lettuce (but not iceburg), and I do LOVE fresh tomatoes in season. I can eat a potato if I first add a lot of salt, some pepper, a wad of butter (at least 2-3Tbl) , and a huge gob of sour cream. I…

I am considering turning vegetarian - though the thought scares the bejeebers out of me because I LOVE meat. I really do love it. And I absolutely dislike most foods that vegetarians require. Rice? Most beans? Most vegetables? Yuk! But the ethical aspects of my diet are beginning to bother me, so it's time to address. I'm…

I limit my carbs to under 10/day. I love how much better I feel. I also fear the hunger that I have when I am eating carbs. I still have occasional hungers on my current food plan, but the hunger feels different. I actually enjoy experiencing it for a while. It's a feeling of empowerment, where my choices are MINE to make…

Hi, Sylvia, Isn't it amazing how poorly we have been treating ourselves. It never quite occurred to me that I should be giving my bod the respect it deserves I was shocked when the awareness hit. Good luck on your journey. See you around!

I'm no expert, but I'm confused. If you are eating your BMR plus you are eating your calories burned through exercise, why do you expect loss? You have to have a net loss in there somewhere. Also, unless you know your own actual BMR, remember that it's only an estimate. And sites often give GROSS calories burned during…

The pill was the only thing that helped me

Yes. I went through a 2 week stall. Then I did a serious review of my nutrition/exercise log. I realized that I wasn't taking in nearly enough water. I computed my water requirements, bought a Brita water bottle that is always near, and the weight started coming off. But then it stalled a week later. This time I didn't…

Perhaps you are not aware that you are undermining them. They are not so stupid as to not know that already. And they will not take advice from someone who is so obese. You haven't yet earned the right to give them advice. You are behaving like an ex-addict who is out to save everyone from themselves. Save yourself from…

It was hard at first. My husband was trying to sabotage me (though I don't think he was doing it deliberately). Now he's super-supportive.

I don't like veggies either. That's why I'm on a ketogenic diet. I eat less than 10 carbs a day. Most of them come from the parts of carbs per egg and the ounce of really, really good cheese and from the carbs in the heavy whipping cream that I add to my coffee. Last week I had 0.6 of an ounce of lettuce - just to see if…
