  • Isn't it just the best feeling? Congrats
  • Nighttime is my snack time also. I am going to save enough calories to snack at night reasonably. I'll let you know if it works.
  • I usually go to Dotties Weight Loss Zone. DLWZ.com and go to Restaurants. They list hundreds of places and most of the food has the calories. This way you can calculate and plan ahead. Good Luck on your Journey!
  • Wow, what an inspiration!
  • I agree. If you give up everything you love, you feel deprived. Pick and choose the foods and drinks you really love and work them into your diet. You will not feel as deprived and hence you will be more likely to continue on this weight loss journey. (I am also guilty of loving coffee!)

  • I "hard-boiled" enough eggs to last the week and it seems to be helping. I noticed that the snack foods have to be ready to grab and go or I might grab something more caloric. My husband uses Clif Bars as his breakfast and snack. Have a great Friday.
  • We all have our "trigger" foods. Mine is popcorn. I can't seem to eat just a little. I'm going to try to avoid it for a while. Hang in there and start again tomorrow!
  • I always find that the first week on any diet (oops, food plan) that I am starving. Maybe it's the "thinking about food" more than I usually do...but it goes away after a week or so. Today is my second day and I feel really food deprived even though I ate quite a bit of food. Mentally I have to get back into it. Hang in…
  • It's only crowded at my gym for the first two weeks of January - after that it levels off to pretty much pre January levels. I get around it by walking at the park or on the treadmill in my basement. Today I'm walking at the mall with my son who is home from college. Its' always nice to have him to chat with while walking.…
  • No doubt about it - Philadelphia Cheese Steaks
  • I also am a "ranch" lover, but was shocked to see the calories. I found Walden Farms Ranch dressing for 0 calories. Its not an exact match but it works.
  • I would love to join your challenge!
  • Hungry Girl made a recipe (on the Cooking Channel) for macaroni and turkey and cheese that looked incredible. Only 200 calories! you can look it up on the web.
  • I felt the same way! But after reading the posts and remarks from people that are in the same boat as I am, it appears that I'm not alone so maybe this will be easier. Its nice to know that if you are tempted to "over indulge" you can rely on support from people who understand.
  • Congratulations. I just found this site yesterday and it looks like its going to be a big help. I am 58 years old and don;t want to be this heavy when i get to 60.
  • I have 40 to lose....sounds like alot but it seems much easier with support. Today is my first day and I'm heading out for a walk in about an hour. (waiting for the temp to rise to at least 40...) I am taking this one day at a time and realize that this time it has to be a forever eating plan.
  • Glad to see that there are so many over 50s trying to stay healthy. I have lost the same 40 pounds at least 5 times. I am tired of hiding from cameras. This time its going to stay off for good. Today is the first day of the rest of my life!
