Ditto what everyone else said basically but just adding that you should use this opportunity to be proud of yourself for practicing self control. You are going to be put in situations like this for the rest of your life. At the office, parties, heck even at the store where they give out free samples. You don't have to eat…

I have gradually made many slight modifications to my lifestyle. It started with MFP - logging everything I eat and being held accountable for it! That was really a major change but it has spawned all the little ones such as: 1) Using the rest room on the other side of the building instead of the one that is 100 steps from…

I could have written that post 11 months ago. Walk though the kitchen grab a fun size bar, get daughter a cookie might as well eat one myself, cooking? Need to taste test. Never ending munching adds up so fast. First I cut out cold turkey and didn't even allow it in the house (much to the dismay of my family) but have…

I have been on MFP for almost 11 months. I feel I have the estimations down pretty good because my loss has been fairly steady and I feel great. I have hypothyroidism so I try to lean on the side of overestimating calories in and underestimating calories out if I have any question. At first I used MFP and Machine…

I think OP is saying she initially lost 19lbs - then she went down another 4-5 sizes but hasn't lost any more then the initial 19lbs. OP this is wonderful! This means you are tightening everything up. 3lbs of FAT may WEIGH the same as 3lbs of muscle but it sure LOOKS a whole lot better ;D *edited spelling error

Feel free to add me - I'm on here everyday and while I might not comment on every diary completion/automated message I almost always comment on personal messages and give as much support as I can. I understand the struggle and most of my IRL friends are also either already where they need to be without any struggle or…

I will admit I only glanced at the responses but I wanted to add my personal experience since we have a lot of similarities. I started 5.6 216 with hypothyroidism. I didn't use TDEE. I have a desk job so am very unactive most of the day but I do workout 4-5 days a week. I still classify myself as "INACTIVE" that way I have…

I'm pretty sure if you eat the cake WHILE running it becomes negative calories so you'll not only burn the calories from the run but also burn double the calories of the cake. Something like that - I never was good at math which is why I let MFP do all the calculations for me :D

Count me in! Hitting the last 10-20lbs I need to lose and with the loss slowing I could use the extra motivation not to lose sight of my goals.
-
I'm with you too! I also find it difficult to get through the weekend or really anytime I am off work. I find myself wanting to go into the Office because I am not as tempted to snack at work and the gym is in the building where I work so I know I'll have no excuse not to go (well aside from the few times when actual work…

I've been here since January and not looking to quit anytime - this is a life style and I cannot be trusted without accountability or it will all start to come back again. So feel free to add me. I don't always comment on every automated post but almost always on personal comments/questions suggestions.

I don't think it has as much to do with height/weight as it does with muscle tone. "Skinny Fat" is real! I weigh less then a friend of mine - we are the same height. I have belly overhang, bat wings and flabby thighs - I could bounce a quarter off her abs. It is all in the muscle. She's been working on her muscle for years…

I agree - it could be what you are eating or not eating causing you to feel sick. You should not be feeling physically ill, it is common to feel hungry or deprived until you get used to the reduced food but not physically sick. I would definitely have your blood sugar checked. Also don't try to start a diet dramatically.…

I agree that MFP calorie burns can be greatly overestimated. I do 45-60 minutes on the elliptical at the gym - the elliptical tells me I burn 400-700 calories as does MFP but my HRM is telling me closer to 200-350. I log the lowest number which is from the HRM then I still don't eat back ALL my calories. Also if you are…

Feel free to add me! Similar age/height range. To reach my current goal I still have @12lbs left, I don't know if this is my final goal but I guess I'll know when I get there :)

I'm a bit over half way but almost at 60lbs lost as well. I am on everyday and happy to encourage and support. Feel free to add me :)

It really depends on my mood. Lately it's been Oreos which is funny because until like a month ago I was never a big Oreo fan.

I am a firm believer that running isn't for everyone. I hate it and I will NEVER enjoy it. Being a DD-DDD all my life I have always detested running. I have tried 100s of bras but nothing that makes it "comfortable" for me to run. Then I broke my ankle in college and it didn't set right so now it causes me lots of issues…

It depends on if you are feeling satisfied I would say. Don't take too much stock in the "starvation mode" stuff on here it gets a bit blown out of proportion. I started at 1200 and have since gone up to 1260. I do cardio 4-5 times a week and eat anywhere from 1260-1500 calories on a given day. I whole heartedly buy into…

Calorie Deficit is based on NET not Gross Calories. So if you up your intake to 1500 and burn 300 you are still only netting 1200 leaving you with a deficit to lose. If you go this route you probably don't want to eat back your exercise calories. There are plenty of threads around here that give good advice on how to set…
-
I wouldn't worry about starvation mode. 2 days of 2000 calories may be a bit much and you may be killing your deficit on these days. I am 5' 6" I set my calories to 1260 (1lb) and go to the gym regularly. Because my HRM and the Elliptical disagree by quite a bit I go with the HRM number (which is about half of the…

Ditto - I'm on everyday. I don't decline friend requests but I do delete people who never interact with me. I may not comment every time you complete your diary but I usually comment on progress. I always respond to friends who update their status with personal comments - especially when they are feeling discouraged.…

I think that is a very common problem. I used to think I could keep "fun-sized" candy in my house. They were a small "treat" and if used correctly would have been perfectly fine. However every time I walked into the kitchen I would grab one, so a 25 calorie candy turned into a 200 calorie habit. Now the candy jar is…

These girls were actually paying you a compliment in a really bad, ignorant, and politically incorrect way. I mean they were amazed at what you are doing because you don't see a lot of larger women putting their all into it. When I started my journey almost 60lbs ago I was the largest person in the gym most of the time…

I am the same way. I either appear to have gained or stayed the same for a week or two then one day I get on the scale and suddenly I am down 3-4 pounds. I don't get it but apparently that is just the way some bodies adjust to weight loss? It could just be the timing of it all too. Women's weight can vary so much depending…

Me too. Since Starting MFP I have found that my stomach can't handle as much food and I tend to get sick/queasy sooner then I used. It doesn't stop me from wanting to cram everything I see into my face however. Then I feel guilt from over eating so I turn to food to make me feel better and well you get it...Never Ending…

Good Luck with that. I prefer to live life and say everything in moderation. I do not allow certain foods in my house (e.g., Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey) because I have no self control at times but I would absolutely enjoy a small serving of it every now and again. And while I never say never I have found good substitutes…

I do the same thing. I eat about 1/4 of my calories for breakfast then I have a small lunch and snack so at dinner I still have almost half of my calories left to eat. I eat a normal dinner with my family no special "diet" dinner or anything. I simply just ensure I take no more then one serving of everything. Then I…

Not really the first time I realized it but the first time I realized how much in denial one could be about weight gain. I was in college and didn't own a scale, I knew I was gaining a bit but I was buying the same size jeans. I told myself they were "making them smaller and tighter" now because that was the style,…

The link goes directly to an informative article that happens to be written on a site that may or may not be a business - I don't know because I didn't click the link just read the article. No where in the article did it tell me to click on the link or use any product. So I don't think that counts as "advertising".
