I also started today! It was tough..I am SO not athletic and running for 3.5 seconds gets me winded LOL But I did it this morning and will be doing the other 2 sessions Wed and Fri. In between, I will do brisk walking on the treadmill. Let's do this!

^ This is my motto. EVERYTHING IN MODERATION. I personally do about 3 servings each of fruits and veggies a day. :)

Thank you all so much for your input. I have been reading many good things about Asics and Brooks! I'm hoping I can wear one of those!

I also agree and couldn't bring myself to not buy after the salesperson/establishment had been so helpful. I will certainly buy the first pair where I get the help, then see where else may carry them after that. My asking around has brought a price range of 80-200 dollars depending on the shoe, of course.

Probably shouldn't comment on threads asking for advice if you're just going to be counter-productive and rude.

Thank you to everyone who gave me productive advice! I don't want to waste money nor time on another pair of shoes that won't work, so I will be visiting a running store this weekend! Thanks again!

Mom of only one, but she's my silly, very exhausting (at times) 2 year old! Also work full time, have a hubby who could definitely serve as kid number 2 most days and a house! LOL I get crazy. lol Feel free to add me, looking forward to getting to know you.

All I can say is don't blindly follow the GPS! Cause you may find yourself in the middle of ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE! Dirt/sand roads and all. Be careful in your travels!

^^ all of this. I vary my calories every day as well, low one day, high the next, right at my calories the next etc etc. That was my main trick I used to keep th scale moving when I lost nearly 100lbs a few years back. And so far it hasn't failed me this go-round either. I also suggest getting AT LEAST the recommended…

I must wanna stay fat, haha! I'm 5'1 and my first goal weight is 150, ultimate is 135. I carry most of my weight in my butt and thighs..if I were to get any thinner than that, I look sickly from the waist up! lol

I agree, make your way around the forums, make lots of friends..the support you receive is amazing and makes you want to keep going! Also, track your food like your life depends on it. Seeing what you're eating laid out before you really makes you think before you choose to eat something. No slacking on giving support…

You are ROCKING that itty bitty waist! You look beautiful!

great idea! Sounds like we work in a similar set-up.

I also sit at a desk...I haven't found a way to fit in exercise! (a not so great neighborhood for walking, no flights of stairs and I'm squeezed in a room on top of other co-workers!) I do make sure I eat a protein-packed breakfast to hold off hunger (I usually bring it with me and eat it around 9 or so). I drink plenty of…

Possibly have another child...

Pick out the best you can from the nutritional info and eat realllllly good the rest of the day! :)

LOL Please add me. I think we could motivate each other. I SO hate exercise and need to watch others who are doing their thing!!

I am working on losing 70, mom of 1! Feel free to add me!

It's only ridiculous in sodium if you use the seasoning packet. I make Ramen all the time for my daughter, I cook the noodles, drain the water, sprinkle just a touch of the seasoning packet and add veggies. Wa-la. Decent, easy and fast noodle and veggie dish.

When I was younger, probably before I was a teenager, my mom told me that if I didn't lose weight, I would never get a boyfriend. From the time I was about 9 years old to about age 19, my dad made daily jokes and digs about my weight. DAILY and multiple times a day. Now it's just every so often, luckily because he lives…

Hi! I live near Akron, OH, lived here my entire life. My husband wants to move down south or out west, but this is home to me and my daughter. Just not quite ready for that yet! I HATE winter, so one day I expect to move. But for now, here I am. Would love to meet some MFP-ers in my area!

Thanks! Friend request on the way :)

My main reason, of course, is ME! When I lost weight before, it was happiest and best I have ever felt! And now my additional, and most important, motivation is also my daughter! She is 2, and I want to change my ways before she's old enough to understand or see what I was doing to myself. I quit smoking before she was…

Re-starting nearly 100lb loss myself. Friend request on its way! :)

Good morning, All! From Ohio here. I am also starting over. Years 2005-2007, I lost nearly 100lbs. I never made it quite to my goal - I was 8 lbs away when I stopped! I but I still felt good and it never bothered me much. I kept the weight off for a couple of years, got pregnant with my daughter in 2010 and gained 80 back!…

go to the groups area of the MFP site, search "disorder" in the groups. You'll find lots of support groups with tons of people who know how you feel!
-
very good advice!

I agree with most of the above...eggs, cheese, cottage cheese, chicken (all meat), fish. High fiber helps to stave off hunger, too, such as potatoes WITH the skin, apples with the skin, etc.
-
I've done my share of crying in changing rooms, and getting REALLY mad!! (at myself, of course) Guess we all have! Welcome to MFP, there's some amazing people on here. :)

You have received such good advice here (the above being some of the best advice - and one I will probably be referring back to myself when needed!), and so glad to see you getting pumped up again! :) My 2 cents is....honey, you have lost 56 sticks of butter off of your azz! That's A LOT! :)
