I'm a typist, so I spend a lot of time speed typing. I probably have a bit of carpal tunnel starting up, but independent of that, for some reason when I hold my weights down to the side my hands start to cramp up by the middle of the 2nd set. This doesn't seem to happen when I do weights and use other muscles to lift the…

The trainer split my upper body into 2 days because with a history of 3 rotator cuff tears he figured it would be better to split it up and lessen the risk of a major injury. I would like to try the Smith machine to replace the current squats that I'm doing with the free weights because right now gripping the free weights…

Yeah, you can't target - and I know eventually I'll need surgery to get rid of all of it; however, I have noticed a decrease after doing the above stuff, which at least is something. I think it has to do also with what kind of incision you had and where. I'd actually be okay with it in general - have a friend who is a size…

I'm just over 5 years from my last C and 3 from a hysterectomy and I have the same apron deal going on. HOWEVER, I have just finally noticed a difference (even with needing to lose all this weight still) by increasing my weights, cutting down on the sugars and doing the following: Jackknife - it's with a stability ball.…

I have no idea who she is nor what is going on in her life, but I have about 100 to lose (well, had when I started). Quite a bit of that was specifically related to the steroids I had to take, epilepsy medication, chemo, etc. (yes, some chemo puffs you up like crazy) That and being so incredibly sick that literally getting…

No, they shouldn't have carte blanche, as you put it. However, I will tell you when the SO sabotages your efforts/doesn't support you, it can break you...IF you're losing the weight for the wrong reasons. Marriage is a two-way street. Again, she's not just sitting around the house - she's working a lot and (from her posts)…

No my suggestion was based on if he wanted to maintain a perfect-looking trophy wife for the rest of his marriage, that's what it would take. Everyone, fit or otherwise, ages. We do not all have the genes of Sophia Lauren. So he needs to accept that his wife at her best NOW may not be the underweight supermodel type she…

Never said she was. I was going off of her original post where she quoted his comments. I was also responding to those talking about how her gaining weight was unfair to the husband. There are always 3 sides to a story - his side, her side and the truth somewhere in the middle. I understand that. Been with my SO for 20…

Well different boat, because I'm entering full menopause hormonally early (in my 30s) due to cancer surgery. So from my perspective, yes it does become harder. However, try adjusting your diet to more whole grains and adjust the salt intake. You'd be amazed how much salt you consume - MFP and logging were a huge wakeup…

For those talking about how it's not fair to the husband that he married someone supermodel thin and then she gained weight....that is incredibly unfair to say. You have no idea about this woman's history. Being supermodel thin (or dancer thin as I once was) usually means you're UNDER weight. How easy do you think it would…

Thank you for posting those...what a fantastic job!! :flowerforyou: I'm trying to work my way up to "lifting heavy", but with all my old injuries I'm just thankful to be progressing in my weights without having injured myself  But what an inspiration! Keep everyone updated :)

I am sitting here on a Thursday, which is usually a day when I order Chinese Take-Out. Lots of it. I would have called already, but I thought about the calories, and how I can make other yummy options here, and I'm eating a plate with some very, very good grape tomatoes, carrot sticks and light ranch. I felt bad for about…

Because he's not all bad, and we have kids. I'm not going to put them through a divorce just because I get my feelings hurt. I used to turn to food, but now I've started working out again and at least I feel stronger than I did before. As for the stretch marks, I remember I tanned a bit after my first, but after being…

I'm pretty sure I'll never have the courage for a bikini. Women are told to wear their "stripes" with pride, or not to worry about C-section scars, etc, but that only works if you're with someone who won't look at you in disgust when he sees them among other things. Not all mothers are made to feel proud of the body…

Yes!! I'm half asleep and about to step on it and then I'm like "NOOOOOOOOO!!!" and run away. Not sure I'm going to make it but hoping for the best. I do feel "thinner" which is temping me even MORE to check, but holding fast.

Well I lasted the longest for me ever on an elliptical at 45 minutes. And...I had to buy smaller underwear!!!!

I'm hypothyroid but my numbers are usually "normal". So they took me off the medications because I'd lost weight and was "fine." Fast forward after a hard pregnancy, and yep, it came back. But since my numbers were normal they refused to treat it. Went for a second opinion, and the guy just told me to exercise, lose…

Thank you for starting this. I'm joining because this morning, once again I'd gained weight on the scale and I'm just sitting here crying and ready to give up. Never mind that I know part of it is that I'm constipated (TMI, sorry) because I had to take narcotic pain pills for my abdomen and back issues, and that I haven't…

I should. I felt great about working out today until I got home, and my husband weighed 3 lbs less than this morning, and I weighed 2 lbs MORE!!! :grumble: :grumble: :explode: :explode: :grumble: Now I'm ready to either punch a wall or crawl into bed and cry into a nice big pint of ice cream. Shouldn't weigh myself so…

Okay, so update after doctor's visit - it's not diastasis recti - completely different area. This is down near my pubic bone and spreads left to right; diastasis recti is down the middle of the abdominal muscles around the belly button with contents that protrude/a noticeable hole. Did an ultrasound and the area is fine…

I had my hysterectomy 3 1/2 years ago and the C's were in 2001 and 2009. I thought I'd be okay because there was no bruising (I've had a torn calf before) but you're right I should probably go to the Saturday clinic and get checked out just in case. The pain isn't constant, though, and I'm wondering if I just tore up a…

Well not that I can do it right now with prior surgical issues, but I have a friend who had a similar problem and she switched from walking/running to kickboxing/MMA stuff. Worked her entire abdominal area and she got rid of the pooch/handles, etc. So maybe try a different kind of aerobics that works that area? GL!

Not that I have the link, but my husband found some 10 minute workouts and the like from the P90x people on you tube. They seemed to be sponsored by Beach Body so I don't think there's a copyright issue.

As a side...here's something that helped me last night, because I was really down yesterday and the day before. The day before couldn't be helped - no car available = no gym. Yesterday I was getting ready to pile on the excuses - kids acting up, fighting a fever (maybe...or early menopause *ick*), etc. I was too tired and…

Just a couple of quick questions on these, because I'm thinking about investing in one... 1. "waterproof" - does this mean we can swim with these, or just that if we happen to get it wet it'll be okay? 2. If I'm doing an elliptical (for example) where I'm just pumping my legs or something, will these pick up the activity…

This is such wonderful timing for me, as I'm battling depression too, and also having dealt with body issues for what feels like my whole life. I used to be very thin, but even at my thinnest I was told to lose weight constantly (or in a few cases that I needed to gain weight). Then I gained weight, then lost - never…

Thank you everyone for your responses so far. I actually enjoy the rower - but I was concerned about getting an injury that would affect my working out in general. I have other days where I do just walking (can't run to save my life, so I do intervals) or elliptical, or mix it up. The rower is part of the interval because…
