Working for me too!! Personally, as my weight crept up I just started more and more avoiding mirrors. Took to wandering down the hall while brushing my teeth etc lol... I am not where I want to be yet, the improvements are showing in the reflection for sure!! Almost wish I took detailed before pics!!

Turkey Bites snacks are a favorite of mine, but he ingredient list is probably pretty scary too.

Aim for once every two weeks as the surprise of weight loss is the best when it's like 4+ lbs in one shot!!

No cal drinks (water, diet coke, mio, etc), coffee/tea, vitamins.... that's about it. Still logging tbsp's of ketchup lol here

"Most efficiently" is the key term here. Higher intensity, although "less effecient" at burning calories, will burn more calories overall in the same time period regardless. If you have unlimited time to walk around instead of running or other high intensity cardio, then it may be a good option to consider.…

Get rid of all your junk food first, helped me quite a bit when I first started. And yes, most muffins are junk IMO. Pre-planning went a long ways for me as well, and it is still rare that I don't wake up knowing what my meals will look like for the day. May also want to try experimenting with meal timing. I found for…

Used to all the time, but haven't in two months now, results have been great Simply too much deep fried goodness and temptation to go around I think!! But am planning to attend to one on my birthday for a treat with friends if the progress continues.

Steroids/"supplements", grunting showoffs, and meatheads or other gym toughguys.

Eating back 1/2 here and seeing results and not feeling totally drained or starving. Feel its a good compromise vs feeling like all that exercise just equals more calories to eat. Tried to not eat any but found I was just too hungry and low energy without eating at least some back. Just try different things over several…

I am finding that it is for me. I was managing fine for for my first month with no cardio and only weights and not eating anything back. But since starting daily cardio last week I think I will have to start eating at least some of those calories back. Just getting too hungry during the day no matter how I spread or…

Sometimes find myself constantly thinking of food as well, but don't think it is hunger related more a side effect of having to log/consider calories etc as part of this process for me at least... Tough to tell, chicken or egg. I find pre-planning meals the day before or better yet bulk cooking in advance for several days…

No cheat foods here, just work whatever you wan't into your caloric goals. Treating myself to KFC for lunch today, but it will mean a lighter supper than usual, and probably no evening snack. So be it!! I know for myself If II ever started taking cheat meals things would get out of hand too quick as I am still just getting…

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protein_Sparing_Modified_Fast At your own risk though...Search for Lyle McDonald PSMF for further details.

Working good here, 23 lbs lost since ealy Jan through mostly diet and hitting the weights again; just starting to get into the groove of significant daily cardio too which is doing wonders for overall sense of wellingbeing and daily energy!! Next step is to focus on actually eating healthier as the crap foods I eat haven't…

Give music a try when working out maybe?? I used to think it was so lame how my old rommate used to pump his heavy metal during his workouts, but am discovering for myself it helps alot with staying focused and having some fun with it. Doesn't have to be metal, just something with energy!!

Wheat City reporting in here!!

Only time in my life prior to this that I lost weight was a 2 week bout with the flu. Didn't move much from bed and no exercise was had during that time. Wouldn't suggest it though to anyone as a weight loss strategy...

After 10 lbs or so the belt came in a notch, and I was sure I had less in the chin area. Could just be wishful thinking but I'll take it nonetheless. Scale is not lying for me!!
-
I had one for a while, but found it to be rickety and a little clunky to use, was right at the upper limit of the weight limit on it... With the resistance pistons set on it I could get a pretty good workout though. I've tried the ones without the resistance pistons and honestly I don't know how anyone could work up a…

Cereal was a huge surprise for me too. A 30g serving of cheerios just looks sad in a bowl by itself...

Healthy food is more expensive than junky food. But cooking from scratch (with healthy base ingredients) which does take time and some skill is cheapest out of the bunch.

Weight most everything, unless it is a liquid or prepacked/premade food item thing as they are usually spot on for weight per item. Everything else you are right, weight is just way more accurate than measuring I've found.

Gave up the booze enitrely for while myself, but have done the Vodka & diet thing before when I gave up the beer. Light beer just sucks, and would rather have 70 cal diet & vodka drinks over that. Also: Less food eaten = easier to get drunk = less alcohol drunk overall. It's funny it all balances out in the end like that.…

Handy chart here for these terms: http://oi53.tinypic.com/35mh9fo.jpg

Feel colder most of the time, sleep better, 2nd chin disappearing quicker than expected (but could just be hopeful thinking), generally feel better/more energetic, and kinda gross.... crap quite a bit less lol.

Altrernate days for me. Weights on Mon Wed Fri, Cardio - Tues Thurs Sat with Sunday rest. Seems alright and energy to go around althoughs eomtimes the legs take a beating. Just adjust intestity on them as needed for good recovery. Also 5-10 min light cardio before weights regardless for warmup.

Don't give in to office whiners. With me it was first no fish, then popcorn, then no heating up meat products in the toaster oven because "I'm vegetarian and use it too"... Then they want the microwave out entirely because its"not healthy to use". Same people who complain constantly about the 50 year old entirely contained…

Great motivation man, hope to be there soon too!!

Yup agreed 100%. Starting out here and realized I was the most "hungry" when sitting on my butt on the computer, watching tv, etc... Even going for a quick walk, starting a project, or making a quick call to someone would break the feeling of hunger.
