When I was kid we adopted a Chihuahua named "Peanuts" whose name was quickly changed to Jake - Mom decided she was NOT going to have neighbors think she was shouting at/for Penis all the time.

Current one is Moxie. One of my favorite pet names was an old friend who named his mutt "Deogee" (dog spelled out, emphasis on "o"). Never failed to make me laugh.

Ooooohhh. I have 3 boxes of each and have managed to resist opening them for 2 weeks now (once open it's all over). I should have some people over, line 'em up shot style, and have guests knock 'em back with some milk.

Most parents truly do the best they can...even the shi**y ones. It is then up to us as individuals to take that experience and do something useful with it. While resentment and bitterness may be well justified, we only continue to hurt ourselves by holding onto it.

Not anger. Just hard-earned wisdom for some of us. I wouldn't change a thing about my experience because I learned a lot, but other kids would not have the constitution for some of the stuff I heard and saw. :flowerforyou:

Don't have screaming matches or physically fight in front of the kids. Don't try to get the kids to choose sides by bad-mouthing the other (either while still married or after the divorce).
