Reminder to self never open another one of your posts while eating dinner. All this food sure makes my one time great salad seem sad now. All those WAFFLES!

I'm 60 and I agree that it has been harder to lose now, but I'm doing it with the help of this place. Any one that needs support here feel free to add me.

Thanks everyone. I agree that resistance is resistance. It may not be as extreme as weight lifting, but I sure am feeling it. LOL!

Once a week. Monday mornings. Keeps me from over doing it on the weekends.

I agree thrift stores are you best bet right now and don't forget about eBay. Having clothes that fit you will make you feel better and motivate you even more.

I'm new here 25 days on Monday. There was no "Ah Ha" moment for me. I have always been a healthy eater, but that didn't mean that I didn't over eat. Combine that with long hours working and going to school, the last thing I want to do on day off was go to a gym. I found MFP after reading a Yahoo news article. I logged in…

Salmon steaks or fillet.. lay on a sheet of foil, top with a julienne or carrots and zucchini, sprinkle with dill or lemon pepper, squeeze fresh lemon juice (a little white wine if you have it) fold foil to seal everything in bake at 350 for about 30 minutes. More or less depending on thickness of your fish.

Since it's early in the day, you still have time to re think your dinner, either add something to it or think of something else that is more calorie dense. Snacks don't have to be off limits if you have healthy ones. Something like string cheese, or hummus and crackers or even some popcorn will help with calories.

You can make a great low calorie pasta sauce with eggplant. Just peel the eggplant, slice into 1/2 inch slices and then dice small. Heat about 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan and saute with chopped onion and sliced mushroom. when eggplant starts browning add about two cups of water, two tablespoons of tomato paste,…

I personally don't eat mine. I stick to the 1200 calories a day. It's sort of comforting to know they are there, but no use them. Weird I know.

Sue, sounds like you have done really well so far. 19 lbs in a month and a half is fantastic, add in the fact that you did this over Thanksgiving and Christmas is incredible. I saw MFP on a Yahoo news story yesterday and just clicked to check and see what it was about. I loved the food diary and decided right then that…

This should help you with your shopping list. http://commonsensehealth.com/Diet-and-Nutrition/List_of_Carbohydrate_Foods_with_Good_Carbs_Grams.shtml Just remember everything in moderation. I know that pasta is not a good carb, but I love it so I allow myself to eat it once a week and limit my portion.

Wow! This is just what I needed to see. Starting the program to day and seeing this is so inspirational.

Just turned 60, but I feel like I'm still 50 something. LOL! Just joined today and would like to meet others in this age range to support and visa versa.

Did you enjoy it? I have heard the same thing. I have been waiting for the first books of the series to become available in the U.S. I'm reading A Murderous Procession the last in the Art of Death series.

I'm new here too and have about 60 pounds to lose. We just need to think in terms of small goals such as the first 5 pounds to start and then the second 5. Before you know it we will be hitting those bigger numbers. If we work the program we can do it. I have faith. LOL!

I would have to agree with that. It's not about the daily number. There can be too many fluctuations and you can make yourself crazy if you don't see a decline every day. I weigh once a week.
