This topic comes up frequently and there is a lot of info on the subject already. I suggest using the search feature to scan these old posts. There is a lot of debate but the biggest answers are: 1. your physiology will have a big impact 2. are you patient enough to let your skin contract over 3, 6, 9, 12 months 3. Work on…

I would say both. The harder the workout, the more necessary it will be to have fuel before and after. Maybe a snack before and a snack after? Do what gives you the most energy and best feeling, so long as it fits in your calorie goal.

Look at you!!!! Looking great!!!! Congrats on your success and good luck with the final few pounds. What a great achievement!

I could barely walk a few months ago. Nothing physically wrong with any of the parts but the lower back would get in painful knots when I walked .25 miles or so. I could sit down for a few minutes and then go another .25 miles. 4 months later I can now walk 6 miles without stopping and with a few minutes rest at miles 5, 7…

I've been using Pact (formerly GymPact) on my SIII for about a month and like it. The workout pacts, which were all there were until the 1st of January, pay out about $.35-$.40 for each one you commit to and complete each week. I started with 3 the first week but because I walk or go to the gym almost every day, I'm up to…

This too.

That. There are a lot of shallow guys out there but there are those that see beyond it or are even into a girl like you.

Agree.

I have a similar challenge: doing 1894 miles of walking, elliptical, stairs, and biking in 12 months. Works out to about 5.3 miles per day. I'm 41 days into in with 187 miles complete and am 26 miles behind, but that is because I have only been walking so far. I went to the effort to create an elaborate Google Spreadsheet…

As others have said, you can make walking really pay. One way to tell that walking is a good workout is to check your heart rate and breathing. If you have your blood pumping and labored breathing, you are getting a decent workout.

First of all we don't know how much you weigh. The more you weigh the more you can take off faster. More importantly though, it is crazy to attempt this without first consulting a doctor. I think most will strongly urge you to take a more measured approach. If you go on a crazy calorie deficit and lots of exercise it is…

Thank you to those who have responded - all of your suggestions are great and I appreciate how you were all very constructive with your comments! It goes to show you that no matter if you are big or small, short or tall, we can all feel uncomfortable in our own skin. If anyone else has some additional suggestions, I'm all…

I agree about trying a bike ride. I rode 150 miles in 2 days on an MS150 ride while I was 320. A good bike, proper posture/fitting of the bike, and good cycling pants make a world of difference.

Reading reviews on Amazon.com is one of the best ways to research anything. They sell so much of things that most products have a healthy number of reviews. I read some of the positive but I also read a lot of the negative to find out what was bad about it too. Rarely disappointed!

Mike, I'm your age and I have twice as much to lose. I just moved across the country so I don't have anyone to support me in my efforts either. I'm slowly getting involved here and the forums can be helpful. I'm also hoping to meet up with some people on here who are local to the area and do walking or other activities…

If you are so wiped out from a 30 minute cardio effort, you may want to look into your nutrition. What you eat before and after exercise can dramatically affect your performance and recovery. When I plan ahead and eat a good balanced meal or snack before working out I have a ton more energy and if I eat properly after, I…

Reading some of your responses I have the following additional comments: I'm a dude but quickly reading about PCOS sounds like something that may improve with good nutrition and weight loss??? I'd certainly talk to the doc about any plans for weight loss before getting serious. Your health care may also cover a meeting…

Sounds like you should talk to a doctor about the weight gain first to see what's up. I have a lot more weight to lose and I'm worried about those things too but if all else fails, I can gain some weight back. Honestly I think looking good in clothes is going to feel so much better than being fat naked. Your skin at your…

Way to go! I'm a data guy so I love seeing the detail. I just started on my path and I am shorter and have more to lose but was reassured by your comments about losing it faster than 2lbs/wk and your goal of maintaining muscle through nutrition and strength training. I don't think I can do RMR-1000 AND not eat back at…

Anyone know the name of the app?

I am weak in the mornings too. I do a much better workout in the afternoon or mid-evening. I agree that you have to do what suits your time and strengths!

I'm wondering if something like erotic massage may be a spark to get things going again. Intimate but the focus is on the journey rather than the destination. Music, candles, scents, oils. You close your eyes, relax and let his touches speak without your eyes to silence him.
