  • I didn't have a timeframe, but a year would have been nice. I went down, then up, then back down, and now am trailing back up because I'm pretty close to my loss goal. if I had really really really been working hard, I could have lost it much, much faster and kept it off, but I'm pretty lazy. Hopefully getting back on the…
  • I've lost plenty of weight without any working out. You lose more weight by thinking about what you're eating than how much you're working out. Low impact is actually a good way to go if you're trying to lose a good amount of weight, much better for your joints. Walking is great!
  • Oh noes! ::hugs:: yeah that's most definitely uncalled for, though I'm sure he's just worried about you and didn't mean to shock you, just not sure how to react to the way you look. I think this is the route I'm going to go, maintain, then a little under, then a little over, then maintain. The amount we burn isn't ever…
  • This is so true! I guess I should just bite the bullet and start really, really working out.
  • I know what you mean about family stuff, everyone keeps commenting that I look like a skeleton which is weird to hear because I really don't see it. I'm trying to do the same thing, I don't want to lose much more weight, maybe 5-6 pounds, but I'd still like to lower my bf%. Look into body recomping like Sara said, there's…
  • Food doesn't make me feel guilty, just full :) I had lunch with my mom, split a big order of fish and chips, and a big piece of pie with ice cream :9 Shouldn't have ordered the ginger beer though, water was more than enough, so I feel guilty about that.
  • I subscribe to the "I don't really care" policy and just eat what I want, otherwise I don't have a good time. If you really want to "rein it in" then just make sure you only take 1 scoop of everything, eat only one plateful at a meal, eat any and all veggies, go for a small piece of dessert, drink lots of water and eat…
  • That is a good question... I think I'm going to get my next tattoo. Been thinking about it for awhile now and it would be good to have something to look forward to as I approach maintenance.
  • Nope. Just going to focus on eating less of everything, eating less that morning, the day after and probably the day before. Or not :P
  • No, I plan to live for quite awhile. Someday I'll just be using it a bit, then one day I'll just stop caring...and I'll still be as happy and healthy as ever.
  • I was definitely topping 250 after freshman year in college, around 2005, just under 6' tall 235 in 2011 182 right now! Goal is 175-178. SO CLOSE XD
  • I am so calling it that from now on. First, congrats on the awesome loss! That's huge! It took me MONTHS to lose that much. As for your legs, just keep at it. Squats, lunges, planks, Leg Press, YES/NO Machine will help along the way, but you really just need to keep training to reduce your BF% and they'll firm up.
  • I can do about 90 seconds, I'll give this a try to see if I can up it in December.
  • I think the average amount of cheese an American eats is silly, I'd rather say half of an elephant's penis, or maybe just a testicle. That's much more interesting.
  • I know exactly what you mean. Literally every person that has seen me since last year remarks that I'm getting "too skinny" but all I see when I look in the mirror is the same fat kid I've always been. I still see my belly and though everything is definitely smaller, I still see it all. I don't know if it ever goes away.…
  • I haven thought of quitting, but that was only when I was in a really bad situation my first year, and then only teaching part time for the few years after that. If you've already made up your mind then go for it, you have to do what is best for you. Then you have to decide where to go next. Do you want to teach but only…
  • If you go thigh, get it high enough to not poke out when wearing a dress, or low enough that you can see it easily. Unless you like lifting up shorts and dresses a lot :P I'd advise against brown ink, especially if it's on a part of your body that sees a lot of touching (from pants and whatnot) because everything fades,…
  • Awesome! That's always a great, actually feeling the progress. I love reading about everyone's victories. My NSV just happened actually! I just realized during my workout that I was squatting 185, and my current weight is 183, so I'm technically squatting more than my body weight, which one of my 5 major fitness goals!…
  • 2 of my favorite things! I'm actually eating right now and doing a nice long lifting routine tonight. Everyone, feel free to add me!
  • You're about where I was last year, same weight and height. I started eating 2000 cals a day and was losing about 1 lb a week. You definitely lose faster when you start, and the last 30, then 20, then 10, then 5 take WAY more effort because your body adapts and you just get healthier. I'd suggest you redo your goals…
  • I'm on every day, anyone can feel free to add me!
  • Pretty much every morning before I shower. I kept thinking to myself that I'd stop and only get on once a week, but it's just nice to see how the week is progressing. I only record a loss, and only 1 pound at a time, and only after I've seen the loss for 3-5 days in a row. It's not scientific at all, but then again I also…
  • Bump so I can steal these all later :D
  • I used to do pizza with my friend, we'd split an 18" cheese pizza from this local NY style place, plus cokes. Then later on get Taco Bell or something equally ridiculous and just go ape on it. It was quite a feat. One time after a gig I hadn't eaten since breakfast so I made myself a "mega meal" at In-n-out: 4x4 [4 patties…
  • Been there girly! Best thing is to get a training session, just to give you some great starting exercises. If that's too hard, try asking someone if your form looks good. If you're like me and can't make words with strangers, just go through and read the stickers on the machines. If you're lucky you'll have stickers that…
  • You can do it, just keep losing fat and eventually you'll get there. Some people [such as myself] have to work a lot harder, but it is definitely possible if you don't give up.
  • Chips or bread with spinach dip. I'll open the bag, then a minute passes, then I reach in and can't find any more and I'm puzzled
  • I wake up at 5am for work M-F so I work out in the afternoons and pretty minimal - weights 3 days a week doing 3 sets of 8-12: bench, squat, assisted pull ups, deadlift, then either planks, leg lifts, reverse crunches, crunches, pumpkin smashers or other ab stuff. I try to alternate squat and deadlift so I don't kill my…
  • I'm a Lumberjack, and I'm okay.
  • Replying so I can remember this for later...Thanks for all the input!
