^^^ That's a great idea too!!

Some tricks I use when I run: Outside running- Set a point in the distance (like a tree or light pole) and pretend you have a rubber band looped around your waist that connects you to that tree or pole (or shrub or whatever). "FEEL" the rubber band pulling you along. Once you reach that point, "loop" another point. This…

I don't have kids, but I just have to say that is the most reasonable, amazingly smart way to approach this change that I've ever read. Kudos to you!!! :flowerforyou:

You said you started "dieting" in November. When did you start eating 1800/day? When you eat below your BMR for a while, and then start eating at or above your BMR, your body needs time to adjust and rev up the good ol' metabolism. I say stick with the 1800. Be consistent for a full month. Get your cardio and do some…

Bravo for getting up and making change for yourself!! It totally gets better, as everyone has said. I also wanted to add a couple points: 1. NEVER feel like you're not doing enough or that you're not as good as anyone else because they go farther or faster. You do the best you can and be PROUD of every accomplishment. 2.…

You look awesome! Great job!! :flowerforyou:

Seriously? What she's saying is she's going to because she WANTS to. What's the point in posting such an unhelpful comment on a topic that clearly indicates she's going to consume alcohol? Seriously. Not everyone thinks teetotalism is the only answer. Do you also tell young people that no sex is the only option all the…

^^^ This. Stop being so judgmental, peeps! She said she was in college, she said she stays hydrated and she has good friends that look out for each other. Do what you think is best, girl! Have fun! You can always go over calories tonight and then work it off over tomorrow and the next day. Your body doesn't work on each…

*high five* That's AWESOME!! I quit smoking 4 years ago and started running... I did gain a little tho... you ROCK and you look AMAZING! :drinker:

100% agreed

I'm sure this is a dumb question, so I apologize in advance, but what is a BMF?

Here's another thread to read regarding BMR & TDEE and what people think about how to determine your calories. Again, I personally, think it's an individual thing and will change for everyone. However, I do know it's not healthy to eat too little. It slows your metabolism. I read a great analogy on another thread: Think of…

I think it's a personal preference depending on what works for you. I also think it changes at different stages in weight loss/lifestyle change. I find this website to be extremely helpful. Hope it helps you as well  http://www.fitnessfrog.com/calculators.html

I agree that you shouldn't have to eat a ton of food to "up" your calories. What most people do who eat more calories is add some kind of nut or healthy oil. 24 almonds is 163 calories. That's not a whole lot of almonds to eat, and they're tasty. They pack an excellent punch in the healthy fats category and give your body…

Your diary looks pretty good. I would agree with the others who said add more protein and spread it throughout the day. Your muscles need fuel to keep you going. Try some of the following snack ideas maybe: *Lowfat Cottage Cheese *Peanut Butter on a slice of high-fiber bread (pepperidge farms soft honey whole wheat is…

OMG, me too! The monsters only go after you if you taunt them with exposed limbs

Lol! Awesome! Rule #1: Cardio **Disclaimer: This is a Zombieland reference, please do not launch the whole "cardio only makes you skinny fat lecture." I am just chipping in with some good advice on how to survive the Zombie Apocalypse :flowerforyou:

I'm like you; I like to weigh in every day to see what my body is doing. I realize that weight itself fluctuates quite a bit and quite often, so I'm okay with that. I "officially" weigh in every Wednesday. I call it "Weigh-In Wednesday." I also realize that recording weekly does mean that I will still lose, plateau and…

Amazing transformation, congrats!! Your hair also looks cute. That cut suits you. Thanks for sharing - you're an inspiration! :flowerforyou:

EXCELLENT way to put it!!!! Couldn't agree more!! :drinker:

EXACTLY! the "P" in MFP stands for Pal... Pals support- they don't throw a big, wet blanket over everything. Stop being so defeatist and keep the negativity to yourself. I agree with the many who have said this is a lifestyle change not a diet. Track your food. Set your calorie goal at a healthy level. Google how to figure…

LMAO!!! :drinker:

also... your TDEE is supposed to be calculated with the exercise included. Check this out. When I calculate it with your stats (set it at moderate exercise which is 3-5 days per week) it gives you a TDEE of 2853. You could subtract 1000 from that and hit your BMR, which would be a healthy goal :flowerforyou:…

I agree with the peeps who say don't eat below your BMR. If you don't want to go over, that's fine, but you want to keep your metabolism quick and your body fed. Try to eat as many whole, healthy foods as possible. This website is pretty awesome for calculators and advice. Check it out for some more info if you like. Best…

Sounds awesome!!! I think every kitchen should come standard with an "omelet man" ... let's find out how to make that happen  Oh, and I had a cup of cottage cheese for breakfast (with my 2 cups of coffee)

I second the Epsom Salt bath. Those really help tired, sore muscles. Keep up the great work!!

I thought this part of it was the most valuable: "Exercise and vegetables can limit the ‘CO2 effect’ But Hersoug says the hypothesis gives us no excuse for dropping diets and exercise – on the contrary. “We know already that a sedentary lifestyle is a risk factor for many diseases,” he says. “According to our theory, this…

I think you should research this one a bit more. Smoking is terrible for your lungs, even in small amounts. That, and endurance takes time to build. Keep up the good work, you'll find yourself going farther longer soon! :flowerforyou:
