Well said!

Thank you!! I honestly didn't think I'd be able to keep up with her! Her "comfortable pace" is around 8:50 and mine is around 13:00... BIG difference!! She stuck with me for an 11:56 average pace and I was SO happy to have managed it and not died!

Congrats on getting into running... you'll be hooked & happy pretty quickly!! I find that Runners World is a great resource for running tips. Here's a 10k training plan from their website that may be helpful. Best of luck!! http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-244-259-1117-0,00.html

how long have you been trying? I've found that even though my weight isn't falling very quickly, my body is changing and I'm fitting clothes better because of all the new working out (but the changes have just started happening after 2 months of sustainable changes). I also found this week that I needed to eat a few more…

I never add people who don't let me know at least a little bit about themselves. Your profile is totally private and you didn't really say why you are here or what your goals are. And it's Friday morning. I wish you the best in your journey... try to be patient with people. You get what you give :flowerforyou:

  Thank you all for this. Made my day :drinker:

that was nice of you to share. Sometimes posts titled "help" do not get my attention because they sound dramatic. I've added my input and wish you both the best!

I checked out your diary and you look like you're really doing a good job eating healthy! I am thinking that if you're trying to target your belly, maybe try lowering the fat intake a bit and upping the protein (lean protein) intake. I'm not talking drastically or anything. This website: http://www.freedieting.com/ has a…

I would be very interested in this article if you ever feel less lazy... I'm a huge advocate of drinking water because I know it regulates so many things in your body... I love to read articles that back up what I believe. My husband always jokes that if he were having a heart attack, I'd offer him a glass of water to make…

I take New Chapter Brand Prenatal Vitamins & Fish Oil Supplements. My hubby does the New Chapter Men's One A Day and the Fish Oil. I feel like in this day of over-processed foods, every additional safeguard helps. I like New Chapter because they are organic and don't contain all the added fillers and dyes that other…

I agree with this. Also, try to do an "official" weigh in only once a week. Your weight can fluctuate significantly each day, so if you have one day a week that you weigh, it'll be a bit more consistent... best of luck!!

1/2 way through the week and feeling great! It's so motivational to see you all posting your miles too... LOVE this group! :drinker: Sunday (2/19) - 3.65 miles - Had a nice outside run with my friend Jenny. Monday (2/20) - 2.60 miles - did the treadmill while watching an episode of Desperate Housewives. Felt good! Tuesday…

^^^ ditto! And good job actually doing evening workouts... I believe it's harder to motivate yourself after a long day, so keep up the good work!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! What a moment! Watch... from now on, you're going to be addicted to running just a little bit more at a time... GO GIRL! :drinker:  :drinker:  :flowerforyou:

^^^ This. I NEVER feel like doing my workout after work and I can't force myself out of bed in the morning, so evenings are what I have decided on. I take clothes with me or go straight to my treadmill when I get home. NEVER SIT DOWN before you have time to think about it. As Nike says, Just Do It. The energy you get after…

Hi! I'm 33, just married and looking to finally get into the perfect healthy lifestyle and weight so I'm ready to age gracefully. No kids yet, but we have started trying (which may change my weight goals for a bit, but will NOT stop my exercise!). I'd love some like-minded friends, just add a message when you add me as a…

You look great!! Your hard work really shows, and that dress is really pretty. Fantastic job! :drinker:

Self.com has TONS of free workout videos that come with a free online membership. No illegal pirating required  Pushups are really good for that "lift" you were asking about as well. Happy toning!:flowerforyou:

I'm with everyone else. Small changes are easier to maintain and they add up. A few pieces of my own personal advice (of course, do what works for you): 1. everyone says watch your calories, and I agree, but instead of just restricting them change the way you get them. I mean, lower your sugar intake, increase your protein…

It also seemed like caffeine intake in the afternoon caused cortisol levels to rise more than in the morning. Maybe because the body naturally produces more in the morning than in the afternoon? Interesting article, I take it as a good reason to have a moderate amount of caffeine in the morning and then cut out caffeine in…

^^^ This. I met my husband on OKCupid.com and I am SO happy to have found him!

Coffee and tea sweetened with Stevia instead of sugar, no milk or cream added, Life Water 0 is really tasty and has zero calories, or Gatorade (G3, not regular kind) is fairly low in calories; I'll drink that after a good workout. Mostly, though, I drink plain water. Get a one liter bottle and aim to drink 3-4 a day.…

Last week, I was sick but I still managed to walk every day and I feel proud about that! This week will be much better now that I'm getting well again. Sunday (2/19) - 3.65 miles - Had a nice outside run with my friend Jenny. Happy run/walk/crawl-ing, everyone!! :flowerforyou:

Hey all, My name is Tina, I joined today after receiving an invitation from Reese. Thanks for the inclusion, Reese! My goal for 2012 is to run a minimum of one mile a day. I began running in 2008 when I quit smoking and quickly developed a passion for it but I never was able to really remain consistent with it. I have…

This is hilarious, thank you! This is much more fun than just thinking in poundage. I've lost an average human brain ... hope it wasn't my ACTUAL brain
