Have to settle for date, since already married

Kid - breakfast was pancakes or french toast with loads of syrup, and butter. Capt'n Crunch when I could get it. Now - breakfast is oatmeal w/ peanut butter and maybe kimchi and an egg on top.

My odds of dying if I didn't take antibiotics were close to zero the times I took them, same for my immediate family members. If we are going to regress all safety, health, OSHA standards back to what they were before, including more frequent wars, then we already know the impact on life expectancy

Most antibiotics reduce the intensity or duration of an infection which is different than saving a life. For example, treating acne is a major reason to take it (impacts quality of life, not duration). I've never taken it to save my life If you are saying zero medical intervention, probably the life of women would be…

For perspective, you are drinking 12 lbs of water weight a day (186 fluid oz). Obviously this can cause big swings in your scale weight depending on when you drank or flushed. I found that consistently weighing first thing in the morning helped minimize the swing

Dropping a leg, or some arms, is an overlooked but rapid route to pounds lost

Donated blood and plasma is processed and sold for a very nice return. I've read a pint of blood can go for $180 to $300, depending on demand. A liter of plasma that costs a company about $150 to collect/process can sell for around $500—a substantial markup in any industry.. VICE: America Is Selling Blood for Big Profits…

Clean drinking water, good basic hygiene, and a safe food supply have done most of the heavy lifting in increasing our life spans. Most medical intervention does more to improve the quality of life than broadly extend everyone's life.

I can imagine they are connected, where the immune systems was compromised/weakened dealing with the coronavirus vaccine allowing the virus for shingles to reactivate.

Starting weight: 304 (1/1) Jan 298 (6 🔽) Feb 294 (4 🔽) Last week: 294 Current weight: 295 Weekly loss: 🔺1 lbs Total weight lost: 🔽9 lbs This week's successes: Nada, and I'm not clear on why I jumped up a pound. Next week's challenges: Make up for last week's gain!

Callum, you and I carry our weight above our belt line, so losing a few lbs doesn't show up quickly in loose pants etc. I'd suggest taking multiple measurements on your middle, say @ belly button, 2in above belly button. If you had started with a belly button measurement, you'd see a couple inches drop.

You have a conundrum there, from your description many probably are responding in line (their eyes) to your request for active friends. Maybe you should post this topic to your wall, and indicate you luv the group sharing but aren't big into DM communication.

Going low carbs makes it easier for me to hit or come in under my calorie goal for 1lbs loss per week. When I have more processed carbs, I notice I'm more likely to go over my target. So it's how the carbs impact my hunger, not that carb calories are different than fat/protein calories.

Some thoughts as I'm also trying to get back into shape for running. It may feel embarrassingly slow, but build up into your old routine, and it may help if your course is longer than 1.6km* Use a HR monitor * Do a fast walk the first day+, I was surprised at how much a fast walk can get the heart rate up, without…

Redoing this week's check-in, I can't ignore that extra -1lb that showed up on the scale this morning :D Starting weight: 304 (1/1) Jan 298 (6 🔽) Feb 294 (4 🔽) Last week: 296 Current weight: 294 Weekly loss: 2 lbs Total weight lost: 10 lbs This week's successes: I changed my goal to 1.5 lbs/wk, and it's working. Next…

I've been to the dentist a lot recent months, and must get tested beforehand. The free drive-up testing in seattle does the double brain poke - one nasal cavity isn't good enough  While it's always uncomfortable, I've never had any side effects after the initial irritation.

Starting weight: 304 (1/1) Last week: 296 Current weight: 295 Weekly loss: 1 lbs Total weight lost: 9 lbs (a human head) This week's successes: Nothing to brag about, except I keep logging and it's working. Next week's challenges: Start hitting my step goals every day.

I gradually snuck up to my highest weight ever in Jan, over 300 lbs. My approach was to opt for a gradual method, with emphasis on logging every meal/snack.* First week I entered .5 lbs loss/week and just focused on logging my behavior without really caring if I was over or under the goal. * Then I spent a month at 1 lbs…

Costco is my main supplier, my recent favs are: - Dave's Killer Bread (best bread ever) - Kimchi (been adding this to cottage cheese, oatmeal, etc) - Macadamia Milk (creamy & only 40cal a cup+

It seems your question is about hitting macro targets, not fasting. This depends a bit on your personality. For me I'm ok with going under some days, and a bit over on other days. However, if you are missing a macro consistently, you should examine both your targets and your go-to daily foods. When I kept missing my…

stop looking to be offended. I made a joke on the thread title, and I tied it back to 'drama' not 'sexuality' ;)

The only nuts and fruits you should eliminate in your life, are the breathing kind. Curtailing such drama reduces stress and increases happiness ;) .

I'm not a big fan of some of the stuff put out by Ted Talks, too focused on pulling emotional strings. Her anorexia was driven by a bunch of very unhealthy rules she used to guide her eating habits. Her problem was having unhealthy goals. A good story but the title was clickbait with little help on changing bad eating…

No, only one of the 11 people tested positive, but a good question why/how the surgeon caught the virus.

This NY Times article has good data comparing the US States See How the Vaccine Rollout Is Going in Your State

A trending app just smooths out the daily fluctuations, into a trend line. You can make your own just by putting your data in excel and plotting a trend line. Not sure about a specific app, it might come with a Bluetooth enabled scale.

Although there may be local issues with the roll out, the US is leading the world with our COVID vaccine response. Be optimistic for the rest of the year. https://www.axios.com/vaccine-distribution-by-country-us-rollout-doses-9c47fa53-6a2e-4c56-8792-dd31bee34b10.html

My read is that you are noting you are a bit OCD in your logging, and the alternative is to just stop when you hit maintenance? Once you are comfortable with your logging and your brain 'knows' the calories of things, why can't you target a middle road, where perhaps you tolerate a margin of error and even swag some things…

How does using shakes eliminate the need to calorie count every meal? I think logging your food is essential, at least until you have a good rhythm and are getting the results you expect. A lot of people use protein or other shakes to hit their goals, I would suggest just not to overdo it. I like to keep some protein bars…
