  • What is your definition of "healthy"? If you're trying for low carb, neither of these are particularly worth it. The bran recipe doesn't calculate nutrition, so I have no idea how many calories it is, and can't compare it to the blueberry one. Personally, neither of these recipes is nutrient dense enough for me to eat, so…
  • that's a freakin great idea! i go to bed within about 1/2 hour of the same time every night, and i'm good with a morning routine but my night time routine is usually "contacts out. clothes off. flop into bed." haha.. i shall try an alarm!

  • i'm here to un-redundant this thread ;) hit all my cardio workouts this week and hit all of my wall sit challenge. no problems with either of those things, but i need to find motivation to stretch at night. i really should be doing it every night before bed, but i have yet to make myself do it at all this month. i'd…
  • That's incredible! I wish you continued success on the next 50 pounds! Just think, you'll have so much more room in your budget for fun things when you don't have all those prescriptions to buy :)
  • I make my sammiches with pita pockets, fewer calories and less mess because 3 of the 4 sides are sealed. Meats are good, so are things like peanut butter and jelly. You also might want to try english muffins, there are some really good high fiber ones and they're good for sandwich sized meals.

  • I absolutely do! I did Stronglifts 5x5 for 6 months when I was training for some endurance cycling events and I LOVED it. Right now, I'm too big/out of shape/inflexible to get back under the bar, but I'm definitely not slacking on the strength training. I have several kettlebell circuits that I do 3x/week. I'm also really…
  • Fortunately I really have no interest in candy so Halloween isn't a problem for me at all. When I want warm food, I make my own chili so I can reign in the sodium and use high quality cuts of meat. I use a lot of spaghetti squash in the winter, and make room in my calories for pasta when I want something gooey and warm. I…
  • Sounds delicious for the summertime. A+, would make.
  • I just take a book or tablet and go! Doesn't make me feel weird at all, if I'm in the mood for something I can't make or get at home, I'm willing to go out by myself! Unless it's something like Cheesecake Factory or a steakhouse, that I'd feel a little weird about haha
  • Amazing. What are you lifting? PRs? Gah, ah.maz.ing.
  • Do you like watermelon? I know that's a fruit but cucumbers have a really nice, mild flavor that's similar to the freshness of watermelon. It's almost entirely water itself, but the skin is really good fiber and they have a nice crunch. Plus, they don't have to be cooked so you can just slice and munch! Green beans are…
  • I need to get back down to a 10/8 because I have almost $400 worth of jeans in my closet that are going to waste. A 6 isn't totally out of the question, but 8 is ideal for me.
  • this is the best thing i have ever read on mfp. fight the belly!
  • So what do your husband and toddler eat if you don't cook? You need to take the bull by the horns, learn some basic recipes, and start feeding your family properly. Microwaving is not cooking.
  • i do my kettlebell and body weight work on t/th because it fits in my schedule, no time to get to the gym for cardio. i think i'm going to stick with m/w/f for an hour and see how that goes! if you hit it hard between events i'm sure you'll get close to 40 :)
  • TDEE is your Total Daily Energy Expenditure, basically your BMR + an average allowance for how much you burn exercising. If you don't do much cardio, you're probably fine without calculating it. Just make sure you're not eating less than your BMR in calories :)
  • The joy of a BW squat is a great and heart warming feeling! Good luck on your progression, you're on a great path. Only 45 pounds to go to 1.5 BW!
  • You can easily lose at least 20 pounds by December. Probably not by December 1, but by the middle-end of the month for sure. I don't think 25 pounds is wildly unrealistic, but you might want to shoot for 20 and be happy if you beat it and get to 25, just to save yourself from being disappointed. Are you a vegetarian? You…
  • Hey guys! Looking for an opinion as far as cardio goes. What are your thoughts on 3x60 minute work outs vs. 5x30 minute workouts in a week? Obviously, doing 3 1-hour workouts gets me an extra 30 minutes in the gym every week, but are there benefits to spreading the effort into 5 sessions as opposed to just 3? I'm looking…
  • I'm saying the same thing because you're not listening, despite the fact that most of the people in the thread are telling you the same thing. Have fun starving on 1300 calories and not losing weight. Have a cookie and relax, my friend.
  • I've told you in every post I've made in this thread. You were not physically eating enough calories to lose weight when you were eating "clean." When you eat more, regardless of the type of calories, you are now eating enough calories to lose weight. That. Is. Why. You. Lose. Weight. I didn't answer either of the other…
  • The threads that other people have suggested you read will basically tell you the same thing I've told you. So... ok. Why are you not open to the answers people are giving you? You're the one asking, but you want to insist we're wrong.
  • Not all trainers know what they're talking about, and I'm not the only person in this thread telling you that your trainer probably isn't right. Buuut, since you obviously know exactly what your problem is and how to solve it, there's no point in continuing to talk to a brick wall. Have a good night, doctor!
  • Ok, you're clearly not understand what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that your calorie goal is set too low. It doesn't matter what kind of food you eat, "clean" or not. That absolutely doesn't matter. If you're not eating enough, you won't lose weight. So when you go over your "goal" with "junk," or with *whatever* kind…
  • Dude, ok. The calorie goal that you're going over is probably not enough for you. Hence, when you go over that, you then move into the territory of eating enough and you start to let go of weight. Make sense?
  • That's exactly my point. You probably weren't eating enough before. There's really no point in using the system if you're not going to use it fully.
