  • Hi all, I'm new to this but I just started running this year and completed C25K in February. My goal for March will be 40 miles running. I also want to have a goal of at least 10 additional miles of walking but not sure if that's part of this challenge or not. Good luck everyone! P.S. I'm looking for motivated new running…
  • Yes, I started in January and finished in February. You can do this! Post your progress and we'll cheer you on
  • Race postponed for March 9. With an extra two weeks to train, Now I can run it 4 minutes faster!
  • I do both but so really have enjoyed outdoor running this year. I am fortunate that outdoor high temperatures have been 32-60F the last two months. I use the treadmill on rainy or cold days but I only listen to music so it gets boring staring at the same wall
  • Well crud, I haven't registered for this Saturday's 5K but it's showing 38 degrees with 100% chance of rain and thunderstorms. I'm ready for the 5k but I I'm not ready for running in rain or a storm. I'm going to have to skip this race and either hope they postpone it or just wait for a future race in March or April.

  • Finished C25K a week ago and yesterday ran a new distance PR of 3.63 miles (plus another 0.6 miles walking)
  • Good one amgreenwell! I’m right around you kirstyfoy. On my 3+ mile runs I’m averaging 13.5 minute miles but on my 2 mile runs I’m about a 12 minute mile. So I think if we keep it up for a few months we’ll really see improvements. I got myself a valentine’s day present. 😍 Actually two of them - a pair of Asics and a pair…
  • For someone going too fast I would recommend a heart rate monitor to help pace yourself. Another idea is to count your cadence (steps per minute) and try to find a running playlist with songs with a specific beats per minute (like 180)
  • Yes, today I went back out and purposely ran slower and watched heart rate on Fitbit. I slowed down when I got above 90% of MHR. I was able to run the full 3.1 miles plus a little bit more. There's a lot of rain in the upcoming forecast but I hope to get a few more longer runs in and maybe drop a couple minutes before race…
  • I graduated today W8D3 by running 32 minutes straight. I wanted to go a full 3 miles but ran out of energy with less than a half mile to go. Now I know what to work on before upcoming 5K on the 23rd
  • I built a PC for my son just before Christmas using parts ordered online from Newegg and amazon. I found good deals on slickdeals and spent around $800. It was definitely high-bling too. See through glass case with Light up motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 with colorful light up fan, 16GB light up RAM, Samsung 500GB SSD, and EVGA…
  • I got a crazy urge this morning as there's a 5K coming up in my town on Sat. Feb 23, which gives me 2.5 weeks to prepare. So I think I'm going to push to 30 minutes Wed & Fri and then go for a full 5K by the end of next week. Also bonus - I asked my daughter if she would run too and she said yes (her first 5K). She said…
  • I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. C25K week 1 days 1,2,3 are all the same workout. So you're repeating three days with a rest day in between. However, if due to weather or temperatures you think Mon/Tues/Thurs will work better than Mon/Wed/Fri then go for it. A mandatory rest day probably won't matter much until you…
  • After a weekend rest today I found an old pair of Mizuno shoes in my closet that still have quite a bit of support. I wore them today for W7D2. My legs felt less sore and stiff running on the asphalt and I also improved my 2-mile timed distance. I will keep wearing them for W7D3 and all of week 8 and hope my heel improves.…
  • Currently on W7D1 and still going strong!
  • I've been skipping ahead a little bit. After the W5D3 20-minute run, I jumped straight to a 22-minute run and then a 26-minute run. So I'm essentially at W7D1 now. I will probably follow up with one more 25-min run and then jump to 28-min and 30-min next week. One slight issue... I feel a slight pain in my right heel. This…
  • Today is 60 degrees (F) and will be much colder the rest of the week. So today was the day. I started up Week 5 Day 3, put on some good tunes, and went. I didn't look at the time but when I heard "you are halfway" I knew I still had 10 minutes left for running. I checked my fitbit heart rate and was way too high and slowed…
  • Woot! But did your dog make it 5k?
  • I just hit week 5. However, I know that W5D3 is the 20 minute run. So I looked at it and thought 15 minutes total of running isn't enough. So I skipped ahead to the W6D1 workout and did run 5, walk 3, run 8, walk 3, run 5. That 8 minute run was tough but I did it - and it was the longest run I've done in 5 years. Progress!
  • Way to go!
  • I hope you don't mind me commenting on my journey in your thread, but otherwise this group seems pretty dead lately. I bought new running shoes last year but didn't put many miles on them. So I started new on Dec 31 with the Zenlabs C25K app (8 weeks). I have a treadmill but I live in the southern US so I tell myself I can…
  • Is W9D3 the last day of the NHS app? So the only thing left is to run an actual 5k distance of course ;) If you add in the 5 minute warmup and cooldown that's some pretty serious distance - around 3.4 miles I'm guessing
  • I just started running again and I'm now on Week 4 of C25K. Good luck!

  • @futmom Which app are you using? I have the C25K by Zen Labs app (Orange icon) on iPhone. I haven't tried sync yet but can give it a try. In other strangeness, in the MFP app if I enter an exercise as Cardio, then search for C25K Week 2 and enter the minutes, it tries to add but doesn't really add it to my diary. So I've…
  • I've always felt like the W5D3 20 minute jog is a real milestone in this program. So personally I would wait until after week 6. Once you know you can do the 20,25 and 28 minute jogs, then doing 30-40 for a real 5K should be no different.
