Hello, Welcome to the group and welcome to life with PCOS. I myself was just diagnosed about two months ago and have been researching and making lifestyle changes. I was trying to conceive with no luck for 8 months when I was diagnosed. Now I am on Metformin and if we haven't conceived in another 4 months I will be going…

Consider yourself lucky that you can eat like that and still loose weight. But as for your question there could be a number of things going on here. 1) They could all have something wrong. I was always trying to loose weight but always had troubles, constently hungry no matter what I ate and then I found out I had PCOS and…

I am on Metformin, and I definantly suggest taking it with foods. I had started out for 2 weeks on 1/2 the dose I am on now to wean into it I took it at breakfast and then when I went to my full dose I take 1/2 of it at breakfast and the other 1/2 with dinner. I found that I had digestion issues with it so I started taking…

Has your doctor put you on Metformin or anything? From all of the research I have done you do NOT get PCOS because you are overweight but because of PCOS and Insulin resistance you can be overweight because your body doesn't process carbs correctly. I would see another DR because if they are just telling you to loose…

Welcome to the group! I'm 31 years old and I was just recently in the past 2 months diagnosed with PCOS. I had always had issues with my weight, blood preasure, heavy periods, and then when I was in my mid 20's I started to get hair on my chin and under my chin. DR would always yell at me for my weight and tell me to loose…

Good luck with everything! You actualy have some of the same goals as me. I also am wanting a baby we though have not yet conceived so have not had to deal with the heart break of misscarages as you. I was only diagnosed with PCOS 2 months ago, but I have lost weight in the past and gained it all back in the past I had found that eating low carb and watching my sugar intake worked the best for me. In the 2 months since being diagnosed I have lost 27 lbs eating very clean and watching my carbs and sugar. I have…

I had discovered for me that MFP was way off MFP had me at 1290 calories and after an assessment at my gym discovered I needed to be closer to 1700. I would be carefull about lowering it because you may slow your metabolism. I'd suggest to keep at te 1600 calories but weigh and measure your food closely you may discover…

I never had the issues with my cycles I just had extreemly heavy cycles. They were not as heavy when I was on birth control but then when I went off of the Nuva Ring (I have high blood presure and did not know at the time that I had PCOS) my cylces became 40 day cycles. And stayed that way until last month which was my…

I agree with the Skinnytaste.com comment. Love that website she has tons of healthy recipe's for just about anything! I love the Chicken Enchilada Soup recipe. It's one of my staples to my diet.

I know that this may sound crazy, but it could be that you are not eating enough! I know that MFP can be very off on what you need to eat. If I do the settlings on MFP it says I sould be eating 1290 Calories but after doing an assessment at my gym I discovered that I needed to eat 1700 calories. Another thing that could be…

I've never had the non period issues but have had the issues of extreemly heavey periods and Longer cycle types. But when I have been less heavey I would notice big improvements on my period, more regular of a flow and more like a 30 day cycle.

Hmm I'll have to check this out when I have a working computer again at home.

I never knew she had it either, I think that it shows how you don't need to be silent about it because you don't know who you can help by speaking out. i'm glad to hear about the clean eating I have been trying to eat cleaner and if you eat clean you eat alot less to no…

Hi, I had just found out myself about a month ago that I ahve PCOS, I was put on Metformin, I am insulin resistant with high bloodpreasure, not high cholesterol but I do have very low Good Cholesterol. It is hard finding out that you have something wrong that causes things to be harder for you, like loosing weight and…

Thanks for this post, I am thinking that once we have a baby (trying right now) I may have to talk with my DR about more natural treatments. I just want to do what I can so I can have a baby a soon as possible.

I hear you there ith DR's not being educated on it. I would always get yelled at about my weight, and I have High bloodpreasure and figured I had High Bloodpreasure because of my weight never did they stop once to think that maybe my weight and High bloodpreasure were just symptoms of the same condition and that instead of…
