  • Congratulations! I'm sure someone here could give it a very happy home  A clothes swap board could be a winner....
  • But that *is* 2 lbs a week!
  • Yes, but you're a swimming cat.
  • I'm surprised *everyone* hasn't said this. Celery is pure evil. Surely no-one really likes it???? Even if it so much as touches something else on my plate I know it's been there.
  • Alpro (soya) yogurts are good - they are between 90-100 calories per pot and taste much nicer and creamier than a low or no far yogurt for similar calories. Sunbites (crisps) are nice - probably not that healthy though! Bananas. Mikado sticks are great! They are 11 calories each. Yes, 11! So I often have 2 of those with a…
  • I've lost 16 lbs (I'm 5, 3 so think that's quite a lot) and only one person who hasn't been following my MFP progress has noticed. I have felt a bit sad that no-one has noticed but I try to think that at least this probably means that they hadn't been noticing that I put all the weight on either!
  • On the app on my ipod there is a 'weekly' tab on the homepage....on that it keeps a weekly total. So, I had a terrible weekend as we had visitors but it says I was 109 calories under my weekly goal.
  • Wow! Not only did you lose all the weight, you lost about 25 years too!! Well done.
  • Red peppers (bell peppers) dipped in hummus are my new addiction - they are an absolutely perfect pair.....made for each other!
  • Also, Cheesecake factory...I know its bad, so the past 2 times I've gone, I've just ordered the thai lettuce wraps as a meal (they are normally an appetizer to share)...I'm thinking, Oh its lettuce, grlled chicken, some noodles and veggies can't be bad...WRONG...its like 1500 calories...i'm assuming they infuse it with…
  • I made sweet potato black bean quinoa burgers: http://fatfreevegan.com/blog/2010/05/06/sweet-potato-black-bean-quinoa-burger/ They were just *ok* - but I made loads so froze them and have been having them with salad and sweet chili sauce for lunch and I think they must re-heat well because they've been lovely.

  • There is no estrogen in soy like the estrogen our bodies produces. Phytoestrogens act against estrogen and are beneficial.
  • Mine always says, "ALL YOU CAN EAT IN LIVERPOOL" - (it can obviously tell I live near Liverpool, UK). I'm quite amused by it really! I agree with a pp though that the ads make MFP free. (I use Firefox and still get ads)
  • Cross posted with funnythunder!
  • At one point she says she had 400 lb people doing jumping jacks so I see no reason why you can't, lol!! I've been doing it for about 6 days (not every day) and I haven't been using weights :blushing: . The first few days I ached like mad but I feel fine the day after now, so I've ordered some weights. So what I'm saying…
  • Hi, Feel free to add me too - I'm from Cheshire too! I LOVE my American friends, but it's nice to have some from the UK too because we tend to exercise, and close our diaries at similar times. Those MFPers in the USA exercise in the night (strangely  ) Sue
  • I agree with what the others have said. I do like to read the message boards (although I hardly ever post)...but the encouragement from my friends is great. I did read somewhere when I first signed up that you can lose 3 x as much weight if you have friends! Well, I didn't need telling twice! Feel free to add me too.
  • I have made these two meals over the last two weeks or so and both were delicious and highly recommended: African Peanut-Potato stew http://fatfreevegan.com/blog/2010/02/25/african-peanut-potato-stew/ and chickpea, tomato and corn curry: http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=16849.0
  • T. Colin Campbell (the book's author) has published extensively in peer reviewed journals. Google Scholar him or look on Pubmed and you will see. Also, the book, The China Study has a slightly misleading title in my opinion because although he refers to The China Study numerous times - as it was a study that he was…
  • I have done it three days running and I *hurt*. Maybe I need a day off! (she won't be impressed though, will she? Don't tell her)
  • I have nearly finished reading The China Study (a book I heard about from this site) and it provides very convincing evidence that cows milk is not at all good for us; and not good for weight loss. I'm all for switching to soy milk and just had some in my breakfast (light, unsweetened and it was low cal). While I was…
  • Yes! It was utterly shameless promotion of their site this week wasn't it? Bleugh.
  • Hi! Feel free to add me too - I come here every day and haven't missed a day yet! I might be a little bit obsessed!. I've got two kids too - but at 8 and 5 I may be a bit late with the 'losing baby weight' claim! Sue
  • Lol! I saw it last night too - what went wrong?! Are they completely in charge of their own food choices? It looked like next week's programme was looking at what they've been eating. I felt very sorry for the few that didn't lose anything.
  • Hmmmm, it seems to say 'for foods' on the end, lol!!
  • Can I steal your thread to see if I've done it too?!
  • Hi, I made this for our dinner tonight: http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=16849.0 It was great and my 8 year old and rather fussy 5 year old ate it all and said they loved it!
  • I love this thread! Very funny. I'm still doing it now! I am two weeks into MFP and have lost 5 lbs. But I haven't *really* lost 5 lbs because I didn't weight that much in the first place. LIE!!!!
  • Thanks everyone! There must have seen something about my topic heading that caught the eye
  • Hello! I was just about to post a 'hello' too to see if anyone wanted to me my friend (lol!). I registered here yesterday and just tried it out yesterday. I've been a bit better today but had to finish off the Christmas goodies in the house and plan to start properly tomorrow. Sue
