I got comments all through growing up (I was always a fat kid), but the worst was an ongoing thing throughout my childhood with my step-grandfather. Every, and i mean EVERY time I went to my Nany's house, he would greet me with some variety of, "You're gettin' awful chunky! How much do you weigh NOW, eh? How much weight…

I'd love to join! Been stagnant for months and need some accountability and support to get moving again. :)

My highest weight was 254...I don't even know what size I was anymore because I wore nothing but sweatpants. :brokenheart: I started MFP at 235 and I think I was probably around a 22. It'll be 2 years in January I've been on MFP...I had a baby during that time so that slowed me down a bit  but my current weight is…

Try putting some fat free cool whip between 2 garahm crackers and freezing them. Super easy, super low Cal and super yummy! Also, skinnytaste.com is my most favorite website ever! She has amazing recipes not only for dessert but everything you can imagine. Calorie counts are listed for everything and she uses mostly common…

I just had my little girl July 31st...I counted calories but it was adjusted up to a safe number based on a combination of a lot of reading and my doctor's advice. I counted until about the last 2 months and it helped me gain a very small (but still healthy) amount. However I stopped the last few months and gained a ton!!!…

Thank you for posting this!! I started at 235 and am down to 182 and am also 5'6" (technically 5'6.5" lol). :) Some days I find it really hard to see the change as I still want to lose 30 or so more, but if my change looks anything like yours I have nothing to be sad about, you look amazing! Congrats and thanks for…

Dear Fellow Citizens on the Road, YIELD does NOT mean the same thing as STOP! Let's take a look. Exhibit One: YIELD Exhibit Two: STOP See? Very different. So please, PLEASE stop stopping at yield signs when there is obviously no one coming for miles!! Slow down and then PROCEED, for the love of all things holy, before I…

It's to each his own for sure, however I don't follow any plan, I only use MFP to keep track of, like you said, calories in/calories out. And it's the ONLY thing that's ever worked for me. I'm sure there are benefits to doing other things, but the bottom line with this approach is you don't have to deny yourself anything.…

$100 is super thoughtful, I think! I lead an adult choir and last year they gave me a card full of money...I cried because it meant so much because honestly, who doesn't need extra money in December?!?! I also worked in daycare before I became a teacher and we had a mom that always gave us money, wether it was cash or a…

The combination of writing down my intake and the awesome community of like-minded people has definitely been what's helped me to finally be successful. Welcome! You will be successful! :)

Welcome! I started at 235 with 85 pounds to lose (goal of 150). I've currently been working on it about the same length of time you have until the end of your school year, and I've lost 50 so far. You may get to your goal by then and you may not, but I will tell you that even though I still have 35 pounds to lose, I still…

Do you drink a lot of diet soda? I drank TONS, and was always fighting the hunger pangs at night. I cut my intake down to 3 per day (which is less than half of what I usually have) and upped my water a bunch, and it has realllly helped stop the feelings of hunger in the evening. It also got me past a 6 week loss plateau…

City Slickers...that move makes me laugh until I cry...still. A Christmas Story! My husband hates TBS on Christmas Eve because I watch it ALL day every year!! :-)

Aww this is why I love MFP, you guys made my day! Thanks so much for your kind words. :flowerforyou:

Aww, great! So glad to help! :-)

You can do this!!! :-) Tell yourself, you can have those peanut M&Ms anytime you want, you just choose NOT to have them today. Tell yourself if you still really crave them tomorrow, you will save calories for them. Good luck!

I was stuck for over a month...for me what worked was lowering my calories from 1500 to 1200 and limiting my diet soda/upping my water. The most important thing is to not give up!!! Keep trying different things but don't quit. Eventually you will find what moves you again.

Mine is on light activity, and I have a 3 year old that is highly active. :-) Seems to work fine for me. Hope that helps!

Great job! My recent NSV is not giving up. I lost 37 pounds and then got stuck for over a month. In the past, every other time I have lost weight, I would have gotten frustrated and quit. I have finally realized that I just can't quit. Through several frustrating weeks I have just kept sticking with it, tweaking things and…

I have noticed that my body is really sensitive to sodium. I don't track my sodium on here but I notice that the days I have a lot of sodium-heavy foods, my weight is way up the next day (I weigh myself every morning, I just can't help it! I just try not to get too upset/excited over it and I only record once a week). I…

I'm also a teacher and love gift cards and also a bracelet I was given with a teacher's prayer engraved on it. Also, we watched an excerpt of The Simpsons in class once, because we were discussing Classical composers and there is an episode where Bart imagines he is Mozart. The kids loved it, and one of my students later…
