  • the iphone health app itself should track your steps if you keep your phone in your pocket. And it is even connectable to MFP to sync
  • Not measure. WEIGH all food. Measuring sounds a bit like using cups and spoons.
  • I tend to ignore sugar goal as I tend to have a good few pieces of fruit. I'd rather have the fruit than meet that arbitrary goal.

  • You know the answer to this 3# a week is a massive deficit which and one week of less loss is no reason to review your numbers. You carry on and you look at the trends and the big picture over months and years to make decisions. Your doing great, keep going and don't expect your loss to be linear.
  • Lol at this thread turning into what the op was bemoaning. Brilliant. Even the interweb is sabotaging now. :D
  • I have to google 'what is chupacabra'. Scared now and hoping it is not real.
  • Yeah you do not have high body fat but using the formula you are overweight and it is likely lbm. What us gonna do. BMI is a good population guide and for joe blogs is good. If you've built a substantial amount of muscle weight though it ain't going to fly. However any doctor would just need to look at you to understand…

  • Wait. If it's written in a book it might not be true either ? There is a great book by Ben Goldacre called Bad Science which is great at looking at some crazy studies. He also has a good website badscience.net which exposes this bad science nonsense
  • Is that not one of David ikes theories ?
  • You know somebody as dumb as me can even write an article right ?
  • Lol. See that would be a problem for me the other way. I want an intense 90 minute workout and be done. If it was always available to me it would be 5 mins here and 5 mins there through the day and I would not have the same focus.
  • Maybe invest in some headphones. Then even if they do talk to you, you won't hear it.
  • Did you maybe have clothes on in boots and less clothes on at home ?
  • I find going to the gym much more motivational. Seeing the other folk working out and progressing motivates me to push harder. It also opens up variations on excercises when you see other people doing them: YouTube is great but seeing a real live person squat atg lets you do a little form check. Also I enjoy my home space…
  • When I first started I did loads of walks Mainly to get more stuff to eat. Lol. I have been at goal a couple of years bulking cutting cycles but at goal. I still walk about 10 miles a day now. Cause I love it. Walking is a form of cardio and can get pretty intense depending on what you are actually doing. Speed/incline I…

  • Yes, yes it is scary, but don't look on these numbers as being in stone, you are experimenting on you and you are going to revise all these numbers after a month or so. So if it does not work, so what. You can change the numbers based on what the reality is.
  • I put your stats into Scooby http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/ And it is coming out about the same 2,200 for sedentary. If you add in moderate activity at scoobies it comes in around 2900. So I think her numbers come in roughly correct for a steady loss. Remember though to maintain that deficit as you…
  • Maybe look at who I was replying to before you think even I'm out to get you eh ?
  • Just googled them - they are 230 Cals or there about I think. So I reckon they will give you 230 calories. I can personally think of more satisfying foods to have for 230 Cal (A massive bowl of homemade carrot soup - seriously like 2 pints of it) than some shake but if you enjoy it and log it and are still in a defecit at…
  • What are they meant to do ?
  • Why does she not join up here rather than having somebody else post for her. Do what works for you. I did the one meal thing for a bit and frankly it is boring and for me lead to me snacking more outside of my one meal so was pointless for me also I enjoy the social aspects of eating which did not fit with the 1 meal a day…
  • Yeah you need to stop thinking everybody is out to sabotage you. Mostly people don't give a damn what your sticking in your mouth. Also stop looking for others to blame re the family thing, frankly it does all sound a bit sanctimonious with the 'I'm better than them" attitude. As others have said do you and stop caring…
  • It is likely water. You did not eat 14000 calories over maintenance so do not get discouraged by these fluctuations and keep your eyes on the end goal

  • So you lost 8lb over 1 month. And you now think you have a problem because you are not losing over a few days ?! I see no problem here. Carry on doing as you are doing.

  • All you can do is try and see how it works for you. Try for a couple of weeks and if your hitting goal then carry on. Else adjust how much your eating back.
  • 900 extra for 10000 steps does seem a bit much. But this depends on your stats and I suppose how you are getting those steps. If you have quite a lot to l we abd are currently quite heavy then that extra for 10k steps would seem OK for those stats.
  • If you click the little i next to the calorie adjustment from fitbit in mfp it gives a breakdown of how it is calculated Basically Say: mfp thinks you need 2000 to maintain or 1500 to lose 1 lb fitbit records your estimated burn for the full day at 2500 fitbit synchs with mfp and mfp adjusts your maintenance to 2500 for…

  • Are you weighing all your food using a scale and in grams ? Perhaps yu could open your diary so people can give pointers. The truth of if it is, if you are not losing or gaining then you are eating at maintenance.
  • If you are in a deficit nothing will make your legs bigger. You also cannot spot reduce. To reduce fat on your body you must be in a calorie deficit. If cardio help you achieve that deficit then great use it as a tool to manage your energy expenditure. Body builders work for years to get big legs so do not be afraid that…
  • Coming up for a bulk for me - looking forward to me gaining all that muscle while losing weight. I'm gonna put my faith in the magic in this thread and I'm sure it will all work out great. Yeah.
